Chapter 6: “That Girl Is His Fiancée”
Seeing his grandson’s stubbornness in refusing to answer questions, Yan Yuhen could only suppress his excitement and curiosity as he sat back on the bed.
After calming himself down, he said, “That’s right, grandson. The marriage I mentioned is indeed related to those two jade bracelets.”
In that instant, Yan Kui narrowed his eyes, pressing his thin lips together as he quietly stared at his grandfather.
Yan Yuhen continued, “Actually, the marriage I arranged for you came about in a rather interesting way. Years ago, while playing chess with some old friends, I ran into that old guy, Tang Cangxiao.
As you know, we’ve been rivals for many years, battling against each other for most of our lives. That day, we got into another argument, and we decided to settle it with a best-of-three match. Whoever won could make one request, and the loser had to fulfill it no matter what.”
As he spoke, Yan Yuhen smiled proudly. “You know how capable I am, grandson. There was no way I would lose to that old man, and as it turned out, I won.
Although Tang Cangxiao isn’t exactly a decent person—quite annoying, really—his granddaughter is someone I liked a lot. So I made a request for him to let his granddaughter be your fiancée. He initially tried to back out, but with so many people watching, he had no choice but to agree.”
Yan Yuhen fixed his gaze on the two jade bracelets in Yan Kui’s hand. “So we arranged a marriage contract between you and his granddaughter. However, he did have one condition: his granddaughter would only be informed of this marriage when she turned 22.
As for the jade bracelets you have, they were gifts from your great-grandfather to your grandmother and me. At that time, I took out the two bracelets—one for you and the other for Tang Cangxiao to give to his granddaughter, your fiancée.”
After hearing his grandfather’s explanation, Yan Kui felt a mix of shock and surprise.
He stared at the jade bracelets in his hand, realizing that the girl he had touched and spent the night with was not only Tang Cangxiao’s granddaughter but also his fiancée.
It felt like something was stirring inside him.
His grip on the jade bracelets tightened as he looked at his grandfather and said, “Grandfather, since you’re not feeling well, you should rest. I have some things to take care of, but I’ll come back to see you tomorrow.”
With that, Yan Kui stood up and started to walk out.
Yan Yuhen, who had wanted to ask about the other bracelet, immediately felt anxious when he saw his grandson leaving.
“You brat! You still haven’t told me how you got the other bracelet. Wasn’t it in that girl’s hands? How did you end up with it?”
Yan Kui didn’t answer his question but instead said, “Grandfather, if you want to see your granddaughter-in-law, take care of your health and stop pretending to be sick all the time.”
Yan Yuhen: “…”
After a moment, Yan Yuhen finally realized what his grandson’s words meant.
Excited, he began pacing around the room. Seeing that no one was there, he rushed out to find his butler and share this hard-won joy.
Yan Kui strode out of the main villa, and Ah Ming quickly opened the car door for him.
Just as Yan Kui was about to get in the car, he suddenly heard a wronged voice coming from not far away.
Yan Luo ran up to Yan Kui, her little face streaked with tears, crying as she complained, “Cousin, you have to make a decision for me and my sister!”
Behind her, Yan Bing tugged at her sister’s shirt, seemingly wanting her not to mention this matter in front of their cousin.
Standing tall before them, Yan Kui had a cold and gloomy expression on his handsome face. He glanced at the two of them and said lightly, “If there’s something going on, go talk to your father. He will make the decision for you.”
After saying that, Yan Kui bent down to get into the car.
But the unwilling Yan Luo mustered her courage and said, “But cousin, that bad woman must have ulterior motives for getting close to you, and she even admitted it herself. Just ask my sister!”
As soon as Yan Luo said this, Yan Kui paused in his movement to get into the car.
In the next second, he turned around, his dark, deep eyes glaring at the two twins, his gaze filled with frost.
“What do you mean by what you just said?” Yan Kui’s voice was icy.
Feeling the pressure from her cousin’s gaze, Yan Luo immediately regretted what she said.
Yan Kui’s imposing presence frightened them to the core.
Their faces went pale as they lowered their heads, trembling in place.
Seeing that she wasn’t speaking, Yan Kui frowned and said coldly, “Speak.”
Yan Luo was so scared that she started crying.
But fearing that crying would only anger her cousin more, she held back her fear and, with a shaky voice, said, “C-cousin, an hour ago, my sister and I went to your mansion. That bad woman admitted to us that she has ulterior motives. She even tied us up and hurt us.”
Yan Kui narrowed his eyes and asked coldly, “Oh? What did she say?”
Hearing her cousin’s question made Yan Luo feel that coming to him was the right choice.
She was no longer as scared and hurriedly replied, “Cousin, that bad woman admitted it herself! She wants your money, your body, your looks! She shamelessly claimed that you love her to the point of obsession. Not only that, but she also said she slept with you! And on top of that, she deliberately broke your favorite teacup. She’s so terrible! She must have a purpose in getting close to you!”
Yan Luo recounted everything that Tang Zhisu had deliberately said without missing a word.
However, just as she thought her cousin would be furious and have that bad woman thrown out, the next second, both she and Yan Bing were stunned to see their cousin smiling faintly.
Yan Luo and Yan Bing were completely taken aback, unsure of what was happening.
“She wasn’t wrong,” Yan Kui said, putting away his smile and speaking blandly.
Yan Luo was confused, and even the usually cold Yan Bing was shocked.
“Cousin, w-what do you mean?”
Yan Kui raised the corners of his lips slightly and said, “She really did sleep with me.”
After that, he turned and got into the car.
Ah Ming, who was also in shock, swallowed hard, suppressing his astonishment as he sat in the driver’s seat and started the car.
In that moment, Yan Luo and Yan Bing were left completely dumbfounded.
As the understated yet luxurious Lincoln drove out of the estate, Ah Ming suddenly received a phone call.
Whatever was said on the other end made his expression change drastically.
He turned to Yan Kui and respectfully said, “Young Master, it’s not good. Miss Tang and the people watching her are fighting.”
Yan Kui’s eyes narrowed, and he said in a deep voice, “Get back to Huang Yuan mansion as quickly as possible.”
“Understood, Young Master.” Ah Ming pressed the gas pedal, driving at top speed.
