Chapter 29: “Yan Kui, You Bastard, Are You Trying to Suffocate Me?”
Tang Zhishu was forcefully held in Yan Kui’s arms, completely wrapped in the blanket, with her head buried inside.
“Yan Kui, you bastard, are you trying to suffocate me? I knew you weren’t being sincere!” Tang Zhishu struggled, trying to lift her head out from the blanket.
Hearing her words, Yan Kui let out a cold laugh and said lazily, “Am I trying to suffocate you? Who was the one who refused to get up just now?”
Tang Zhishu took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. “I didn’t want to get up before, but now I do. Is that a problem?”
Yan Kui raised an eyebrow, looking relaxed. “Fine, but before you get up, you have to answer me one question.”
Tang Zhishu’s voice turned cautious. “What question?”
“Before coming here, you said you had something important to do for this show. I want to know what it is.” Yan Kui’s eyes were fixed on the girl bundled in the blanket.
Tang Zhishu paused for a moment and said, “I can’t tell you that.”
After all, the reasons behind her brother’s disappearance nineteen years ago and the strange orphanage that took him in were both suspicious.
So, until she uncovered the truth, she didn’t want to share anything about her brother with anyone.
“Don’t you trust me?”
Suddenly, Yan Kui’s unexpected question came from above her.
Tang Zhishu was taken aback; for some reason, she sensed a hint of grievance in his words.
She replied honestly, “Is that even a question? It’s pretty obvious.”
Yan Kui: “…”
At that moment, there was a knock on the door.
Then came Lin Xiaoxiao’s voice.
“Yan Kui, can I bother you for a moment? There’s no shower gel in my bathroom; can I borrow some?”
As soon as Tang Zhishu heard her voice, she quickly took the opportunity to break free from Yan Kui’s hold.
Yan Kui also released her.
Once Tang Zhishu finally escaped from the white blanket, she rushed to the door and opened it.
She found Lin Xiaoxiao standing there.
Upon seeing Tang Zhishu at the door, Lin Xiaoxiao’s previously bright smile faded, replaced by a look of hostility.
But Tang Zhishu seemed oblivious to her malice and smiled cheerfully. “If you need something, just come in and say it.”
Tang Zhishu was genuinely grateful for Lin Xiaoxiao’s arrival, but her bright smile and words made Lin Xiaoxiao feel that Tang Zhishu was intentionally putting on a show.
With a glare filled with animosity, Lin Xiaoxiao turned and left.
Tang Zhishu was a bit confused. What just happened?
But with Lin Xiaoxiao gone, she didn’t want to stick around any longer.
“Uh, you rest first. I’m going to take a walk downstairs.”
After saying that, Tang Zhishu quickly slipped out.
Yan Kui frowned as he watched her leave.
1 PM.
The staff went upstairs to notify the guests to come down to the restaurant on the first floor for lunch.
Due to the limited conditions here, the production team had prepared the ingredients in advance, and one of the staff with good cooking skills was handling the cooking.
Everyone sat down at a dining table to eat.
At that moment, Tang Xin and Song Fengcheng just came downstairs.
Tang Xin wore a charming expression.
Those present immediately understood what the two had just been doing in their room.
Tang Xin linked her arm with Song Fengcheng’s as they approached the table. He gentlemanly pulled out a chair for her.
Tang Xin smiled sweetly at him.
Once she sat down, Song Fengcheng took the seat next to her.
Tang Xin looked at the ten or so dishes on the table and frowned, complaining, “Why isn’t this Western food? These stir-fried dishes taste terrible; I have no appetite. And there are so many people eating together; is this hygienic?”
Tang Xin’s words made the staff members of the program feel dissatisfied.
Although Director Chen also felt displeased, he didn’t dare offend Tang Xin, who was the granddaughter of Old Master Tang. He could only awkwardly smile and say, “Miss Tang, these ingredients are all fresh, and everyone uses serving chopsticks, so it won’t affect anything.”
Tang Xin wore a harsh expression. “So what? I didn’t come to your show to suffer.”
Director Chen furrowed his brow.
But you weren’t even invited by us.
He didn’t dare to say this out loud and only silently cursed in his heart.
“I think you really shouldn’t eat with us. After all, all the meat here is pork. If you eat that, it wouldn’t be appropriate. We share the same roots; why be so hasty to fight among ourselves?” Tang Zhishu’s lazy voice rang out.
As soon as Tang Zhishu finished speaking, almost everyone at the table laughed, except for Tang Xin and Song Fengcheng.
Even Yan Kui raised an eyebrow and glanced at the girl sitting next to him.
Tang Xin only then realized the implication of her words. She glared at her and scoffed, “Do you think everyone is like you, a parasite who relies on others for everything? You’re really shameless.”
The moment Tang Xin said this, two cold, piercing gazes locked onto her instantly.
These two icy stares were like sharp blades.
Tang Xin shivered.
Her face turned pale, and her body trembled slightly, clearly frightened.
When she spoke those words, both Yan Kui and Fu Yushen looked terrifyingly cold.
Tang Zhishu’s icy gaze remained fixed on her, but the next second, she coldly smiled. “Looks like the last lesson I gave you wasn’t enough.”
Thinking about the last time she had been beaten up so badly, Tang Xin’s face twisted slightly.
With snake-like eyes, she glared at Tang Zhishu before standing up and pulling Song Fengcheng along. “Brother Fengcheng, let’s go upstairs. I don’t want to eat with these people; it’s disgusting.”
A hint of annoyance flashed in Song Fengcheng’s eyes, but he looked at Tang Xin with a doting, sympathetic expression. He reached out to ruffle her hair and gently smiled. “Okay, let’s go upstairs. I’ll have someone bring you Western food.”
Tang Xin smiled happily. “You’re the best, Brother Fengcheng.”
Seeing the two of them, most people couldn’t help but roll their eyes secretly.
9 PM.
Director Chen told everyone to rest early, as they would start filming at 7 AM after makeup.
After everyone returned to their rooms, in one of the rooms…
Yan Luo saw her sister come out of the bathroom. She ran over to Yan Bing, placed her hands on her hips, puffed up her cheeks, and said cutely, “Sister, that Tang Xin is so excessive! She actually dared to bully that bad woman. Only I can bully bad women! I really dislike that Tang Xin. Sister, should we go teach her a lesson?”
Yan Bing looked at her sister, slightly furrowing her brows on her cool face. “How do you want to teach her a lesson?”
Yan Luo chuckled mischievously and leaned closer to her sister’s ear. “Sister, this is a ‘haunted house’; let’s do it this way…”
Just as Yan Luo was planning to scare Tang Xin, in another dim and quiet room at the same time…
A tall, slender black figure appeared silently in the room of Fu Yushen and Lu Zilin, like a ghost.
