Chapter 3: “She Kissed Yan Kui”
When Tang Zhishu kissed Yan Kui, she felt his body stiffen.
At that moment, her hand, which had been wrapped casually around his neck, slowly trailed down his collarbone and then reached his firm, muscular chest…
Just as Tang Zhishu was preparing to use her beauty to seduce him, hoping he would fall under her charm so she could take the opportunity to knock him out and escape, Yan Kui suddenly shoved her away. His slender hand gripped her delicate, fair neck—not too hard, but firm enough.
The man leaned in close to her ear, his voice lazy yet laced with a teasing tone: “Two years ago, you looked at me, touched me, and last night, you slept with me. Now you’ve kissed me again. I was going to negotiate a deal with you, but it seems that’s unnecessary now.”
Tang Zhishu : “…”
She stared at him, wide-eyed, as if struck by lightning. Damn, had she just dug her own grave?
Seeing her expression, Yan Kui’s lips curled up.
He could easily tell what she had been planning.
Yan Kui stood up, his long, muscular legs encased in soaked black trousers as he stepped out of the bathtub.
“If you don’t want to catch a cold, stay in the water for a while. As for trying to escape, I suggest you give up that idea. This time, you won’t get away.”
As he turned his back on her, his handsome face hardened with cold lines, his deep voice carrying a dangerous edge.
When Yan Kui began to leave, Tang Zhishu , suddenly realizing something, called out, “If you’re not going to let me go, can you at least have someone bring me some emergency contraception?”
Yan Kui’s steps abruptly halted.
He didn’t turn around, nor did he say anything.
Tang Zhishu frowned. “You don’t want me to get pregnant, do you? Since neither of us wants that, how about you have someone bring it over?”
Yan Kui stood there, tall and straight, his pitch-black eyes half-closed, cold as ice.
He didn’t respond, didn’t indicate whether he agreed or refused—he just walked away.
Seeing his attitude, Tang Zhishu ground her teeth in frustration.
The thought of how she had just tried to seduce him, only to fail miserably, left her feeling both annoyed and resigned.
Still, since she was already here, she might as well make the best of it. She refused to believe that she wouldn’t find a way to escape.
Tang Zhishu relaxed, sinking into the warm water as the heat gradually chased away the chill in her body.
Her red lips curved slightly, her delicate features glowing with a mysterious and captivating light.
Downstairs in the living room, Yan Kui’s attendant, Ah Ming, had been waiting respectfully. “Young Master, the Old Master called five minutes ago. He asked if you could visit when you have time.”
Yan Kui stood tall, exuding a powerful aura as his dark eyes remained emotionless.
Upon hearing this, Yan Kui slowly withdrew his hand from his pocket, revealing two identical jade bracelets.
At a glance, anyone could tell these jade bracelets were old and incredibly valuable.
Yan Kui’s eyes narrowed slightly as he stared at the bracelets, recalling how he had found one on Tang Zhishu when he pulled her from the sea during her escape attempt. The other one had been a gift from his grandfather years ago.
Why Tang Zhishu had a bracelet identical to his was something only his grandfather could explain.
“Get ready. We’re leaving now.”
Yan Kui’s eyes darkened as he stared at the two jade bracelets in his hand, a hint of danger flickering within.
“Understood, Young Master,” Ah Ming replied.
As Ah Ming was about to leave, Yan Kui called out, “Wait.”
Ah Ming turned back. “Young Master, is there anything else?”
Frowning slightly, Yan Kui hesitated for two seconds before speaking coldly, “Have someone send two vitamin pills to her later. Make sure she doesn’t know they’re just vitamins.”
Ah Ming nodded respectfully. “Understood, sir.”
After Ah Ming left, Yan Kui’s gaze locked onto the two jade bracelets in his hand.
As for why he hadn’t ordered real emergency contraception for Tang Zhishu, he wasn’t sure himself.
But deep down, he had a strong feeling that if she took the pills, he might regret it someday.
After stepping out of the bathroom, Tang Zhishu wore Yan Kui’s oversized white bathrobe, her tall and slender frame nearly swallowed by the fabric. She glanced down and noticed that the robe almost reached her ankles, making her feel a bit odd. It was as if she were a child sneaking around in her father’s clothes.
She clicked her tongue in mild annoyance.
There was no other choice. Her white bridesmaid dress had been soaked through, and without any of her own clothes, she had to used his stingy robe.
Slowly, she ran a towel through her long hair to dry it off.
At that moment, Tang Zhishu suddenly realized that the jade bracelet she always wore on her wrist was missing.
She frowned, thinking it must have been lost in the sea.
The thought immediately put her in a foul mood.
That jade bracelet was a gift from her grandfather, and he had instructed her to take good care of it. But now, she had lost it.
Internally, Tang Zhishu had already cursed Yan Kui a hundred times over.
Knock, knock.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
Tang Zhishu ‘s eyes narrowed. “Who is it?”
“Miss, the young master asked me to bring you the medicine,” a maid’s voice called from outside.
Hearing this, Tang Zhishu walked over to the door and opened it.
A maid stood before her, holding a tray. On the tray was a glass of warm water and two pills.
Tang Zhishu ’s cold eyes fixed on the pills, her cherry-red lips pressed together as she gave a fleeting glance at the maid, who kept her head lowered respectfully.
Without a second thought, Tang Zhishu picked up the glass of water, placed the pills in her mouth, and swallowed them with a sip of water.
“Where’s Yan Kui?” she asked lazily.
The maid’s hands trembled slightly as she held the tray, startled that this woman dared to call the young master by name.
“The young master has gone out,” the maid replied cautiously.
Tang Zhishu frowned, her voice growing colder. “Did he say when he’ll be back?”
The maid shook her head. “We don’t know the young master’s schedule. However, he usually only comes here once a month, sometimes every three months, or even six months.”
Upon hearing this, Tang Zhishu began to panic.
Was he really planning to leave her locked up here for a month or more before coming back? If that were the case, how would she ever confront him and find out what it would take to be released?
Frustration and anger bubbled up inside her.
No way. She couldn’t just sit here and wait. She refused to believe she couldn’t escape.
If things got bad, she’d tear the place down if she had to.
After the maid left, Tang Zhishu made her way downstairs.
As she descended, she glanced around at the opulent living room, taking in the luxurious decor.
It was obvious that every item in the room was outrageously expensive.
Just as she reached the bottom of the stairs, a voice suddenly came from outside the door.
“We heard that our cousin brought a woman. Is that true?”
