The Secret Behind the Veil
The Secret Behind the Veil Chapter 7

Chapter 7: “I Love You to the Point of Obsession?”

In about half an hour’s drive, Ah Ming managed to return in less than fifteen minutes.

As the luxurious Lincoln pulled into the Huang Yuan Mansion, Yan Kui spotted over a dozen black-clad subordinates in the spacious courtyard, all sporting black eyes and bruised faces, gritting their teeth in pain.

Opposite them stood Tang Zhishu, wearing a white bathrobe that nearly reached her ankles.

The man in the car noticed the oversized bathrobe on the girl and felt a flicker of something unusual in his gaze.

At that moment, Tang Zhishu had her hands on her hips, slightly out of breath, and her beautiful eyes glinted as she glared at the group of black-clad subordinates, saying fiercely, “Are you done yet? If you’re going to hit me, do it already; if not, don’t stop me from leaving!”

Tang Zhishu was about to be driven mad by them.

An hour ago, she had planned to leave quietly, but before she could exit the estate, she was stopped by these people.

With no other choice, she had to resort to force. However, they continued to block her, and no matter how hard she hit them, they refused to fight back.

Not only were they not fighting back, but they also acted like unkillable cockroaches. Every time she knocked one down, another would step up to take the hit.

Under normal circumstances, they were not her match at all.

But the problem now was that they were all Yan Kui’s people, making it impossible for her to go all out against them.

Otherwise, that petty man would definitely strangle her.

Even though they wouldn’t fight back or curse her, she still couldn’t withstand their endless assault.

At this rate, before she could knock them all down, she would be exhausted and defeated.

The black-clad subordinates standing opposite Tang Zhishu noticed the man approaching from behind her.

Their expressions changed, and they immediately straightened up, lowering their heads in panic and seriousness.

Tang Zhishu, still fuming, didn’t realize Yan Kui had already arrived behind her.

Watching the men stand there like wooden blocks, indifferent to her punches and insults, she gritted her teeth, crossed her arms, and narrowed her eyes, threateningly saying, “Let me tell you, I am your young master’s treasure. You saw how hard he pursued me for two whole years; that shows how much he loves me. Can’t you tell? If you annoy me, believe me, I’ll make him fire you all.”

As she uttered these words, Tang Zhishu felt goosebumps all over.

It was just too damn cheesy.

Yet, after she finished speaking, the black-clad subordinates before her remained impassive, as if they couldn’t hear her threats.

Yan Kui, standing behind her, raised an eyebrow upon hearing her words. The corners of his crimson lips curled up slightly, and a hint of a smile crossed his eyes.

In the next moment, he leaned down closer to her ear, his cool, deep voice slowly reaching her.

“You’re my treasure?”

“I love you to the point of obsession?”

The sudden sound of his voice, warm breath brushing against her fair neck, startled Tang Zhishu.

She reflexively turned around quickly.

In that instant, her soft red lips collided with Yan Kui’s, who had slightly bent down to speak in her ear.

Both of them froze.

Yan Kui’s dark eyes were fixed on the girl’s close-up face, feeling the sensation of her lips against his. He was momentarily taken aback.

At the same time, Ah Ming and the black-clad subordinates quickly lowered their heads, cold sweat soaking their backs.

Tang Zhishu regained her senses and quickly pushed the man in front of her away.

She resolutely cut off the fluttering feelings inside her.

Sure enough, beauty can mislead a person.

Pushed back by her, Yan Kui took a step back, his tall and noble figure retreating slightly.

He pressed his thin lips together, as if he could still feel the lingering touch on his lips.

“That kiss just now was an accident; it doesn’t count against me,” Tang Zhishu said, her eyes full of wariness as she stared at him.

Yan Kui: “…”

In an instant, the sensation on his lips vanished.

Yan Kui’s expression turned cold, his moon-like eyes scrutinizing her, as he said indifferently, “What are you doing?”

Tang Zhishu glanced nervously at the black-clad subordinates she had beaten into a state of disarray, cleared her throat, and replied confidently, “What else can I do? Of course, I want to leave here.”

The corners of Yan Kui’s lips lifted slightly, a smile that seemed both genuine and mocking, as he lazily replied, “So, do you think you can leave?”

Tang Zhishu noticed his playful smile and shot him a look that screamed “shameless.” She said, word by word, “This is illegal confinement. I warn you, if you don’t let me go, I’ll strip off my clothes right now.”

Having no way out, Tang Zhishu raised her hands to the sides of her bathrobe, trying to use this as leverage to threaten him into letting her leave.

Yan Kui raised an eyebrow, his dangerously enchanting face radiating charm and danger.

He didn’t speak but glanced at Ah Ming behind him.

Ah Ming immediately understood. He looked at the subordinates in front of him and said, “Leave with me.”

Moments later, all the subordinates in the villa’s front courtyard disappeared, leaving only Yan Kui and Tang Zhishu.

At this time, his magnetic voice slowly came, “Hmm, you can take it off.”

Tang Zhishu: “What?”

She stared at him in disbelief, her eyes wide. “You… you…”

She raised her hand to point at him, but words failed her.

Tang Zhishu felt like she might as well headbutt him in frustration.

Yan Kui smiled slightly, stepping closer and effortlessly pulling her into his embrace, then lifting her up as he walked toward the villa.

“Yan Kui, you bastard! You better not give me anything to use against you, or I swear I’ll make you pay…” Tang Zhishu struggled in his arms, gritting her teeth and cursing.

Yan Kui smirked, casually saying, “Don’t worry, you won’t get that chance.”

Tang Zhishu was going crazy. “Put me down! Who gave you the right to carry me?”

“If you can get down, I’ll let you go.”

Tang Zhishu: “…Despicable!”

The man smiled lazily, lowering his gaze to glance at her. He teased, “Aren’t you my treasure? So how could I bear to let you go?”

Tang Zhishu: “…”

“If you keep acting like this, I’ll think you’ve fallen for me,” she said with a sarcastic smile.

Yan Kui’s gaze paused, his dark eyes staring at her for a few seconds before shifting away.

Seeing him silent, Tang Zhishu grew tired of struggling and let herself be held like a limp doll. She pretended to sigh dramatically, saying, “Don’t be infatuated with me; I’ll make you spit blood.”

Yan Kui: “…”

Tang Zhishu looked at his perfect jawline and those attractive thin lips, momentarily lost in thought.

“Yan Kui, what do you want in order to let me go?” Tang Zhishu asked, frowning as she calmly looked at him.
