“Finished,” Dongdong whispered.
After bringing Jian Yang ashore, Guan Ciyan gently pushed him toward Dongdong, who caught him with a dry towel. Jian Yang called, “Sir.”
“Young Master, you should quickly dry off,” Dongdong wrapped layers of towels around Jian Yang’s body and handed him a cup of ginger tea. “It’s still early spring, drink this quickly.”
“Another cup.”
Jian Yang: Mmm, mmm, mmm.
“Let’s go, let’s change clothes.”
Jian Yang grabbed Dongdong, “My legs are stiff, I can’t move.”
Dongdong brought over a heater to blow warm air at him.
Meanwhile, Guan Ciyan was drenched and walked up to Wen Ye. “What are you doing?”
Wen Ye was calm. “Filming.”
He had anticipated that Guan Ciyan would be furious, but not this quickly.
Why did he suddenly show up?
“What did you promise me?” Guan Ciyan’s voice was cold and terrifying, his brows furrowed with anger.
Everyone else, except Wen Ye, quietly stepped aside, not daring to leave, surrounding the two, not even a breath could be heard.
“Creative needs.”
“Then no more filming,” Guan Ciyan lowered his gaze and gently pushed the monitor.
The expensive camera worth hundreds of thousands hit the ground, and Guan Ciyan opened a bottle of water from the table and poured it over it.
“You…”
Guan Ciyan had waited for this movie for three years. How could he simply say no to it?
Baishun pulled Wen Ye behind him and confronted Guan Ciyan. “Did you ask Jian Yang for his opinion?”
“He is under my control.”
Baishun smiled, “Guan Ciyan, you’ll regret this. No one forced Jian Yang into the water. He asked for it. He wants to have his own work and show his best state as an actor. Going into the water is his pursuit, it’s his responsibility as an actor.”
“He doesn’t need to do this to have the best work.”
Baishun fell silent, then spoke to the others, “Pack up, we’re done for the day. We’ll take a half-day break and work as usual tomorrow.”
He threw a towel to Guan Ciyan, but he didn’t accept it.
“Do you still want to shoot tomorrow?”
Baishun shrugged and handed the towel forward again.
Jian Yang, not sure when he appeared behind, said, “No filming tomorrow? We don’t need to take a break, I’m fine.”
There was a puddle of water at Guan Ciyan’s feet, his clothes soaked and sticking to his body. Jian Yang understood how cold it must feel, so he stepped forward, took the towel from Baishun’s hands, and draped it over Guan Ciyan’s shoulders. “Sir, why don’t you dry off?”
Guan Ciyan was seething with anger, but when he saw Jian Yang’s eyes, his anger immediately subsided. He reached out with one hand, grabbing Jian Yang’s cheek, holding him still, watching his long lashes flutter, covering his pupils. “Still wearing colored contact lenses.”
Jian Yang knew he was in the wrong, so he grabbed the side of Guan Ciyan’s clothes. “Sir, I’m cold.”
“Jian Yang,” Guan Ciyan gritted his teeth, holding him tightly and heading back to the hotel.
He threw Jian Yang into the bathtub.
The bathtub had been filled with warm water already. Once Jian Yang got in, it felt incredibly warm, but his clothes were still on, so he shifted to the side. “Sir, why don’t we soak together for a bit?”
Since Guan Ciyan must be just as cold, they could soak together and then shower separately.
However, Guan Ciyan’s words carried a different tone, “Stop trying to act cute.”
Guan Ciyan left, and Jian Yang remained in the bathtub, lost in thought. “It’s over. I have a lot to answer for later.”
Lying in the warm water, Jian Yang couldn’t get anxious. When Guan Ciyan saw him in the water and jumped in without hesitation, Jian Yang felt a sense of relief. No one in the crew had told Guan Ciyan it was just a scene; when he arrived, his eyes were full of urgency.
He probably thought Jian Yang had fallen into the water.
In such cold weather, Guan Ciyan, like Gu Yan Jun, had countless people willing to risk their lives for him. He could have easily called someone to save him, but he jumped in without hesitation. To be honest, Jian Yang didn’t react in time.
He didn’t know why Guan Ciyan jumped in, but the only answer was the worry in his eyes.
However, after they got out of the water, Guan Ciyan didn’t spare him another glance and went straight to find Wen Ye to settle the score.
Eh… Jian Yang felt a bit guilty towards Guan Ciyan. Right now, staying by Guan Ciyan’s side was just to enrich his own experience.
After soaking in the bath and coming out, the bedroom was empty, but there were some sounds outside. Guan Ciyan had arranged a presidential suite for him. Jian Yang opened the door and stepped outside. His pale legs stuck out from under the bathrobe, and suddenly, Guan Ciyan’s voice burned with anger, “What are you doing out here?”
“What… are you doing?”
Dongdong and the other two stood with their heads lowered, the atmosphere heavy.
“It’s nothing, you can go in first,” Guan Ciyan said.
These three were sent by Guan Ciyan to take care of him, and Jian Yang became wary. “Sir, what are you going to do? You can’t fire them, I only want Dongdong.”
“You still just want Dongdong?” Guan Ciyan laughed in anger, “Do you know that the treatments from the past few months might have been in vain? What if you catch a cold? Su Lao’s medicine tastes good, right? Want to take it for a few more years?”
“But it’s not Dongdong’s fault.”
“If he had told me earlier, this wouldn’t have happened.”
“But I’m his boss!” Jian Yang pouted, complaining. “You gave him to me, I’m his boss! I told him not to say anything, but if he said it, wouldn’t that be betraying me?”
Guan Ciyan: “What do you know about betrayal at such a young age?”
“Anyway, Dongdong can’t leave, no one can leave, we have to continue filming tomorrow,” Jian Yang said, slightly angry.
Guan Ciyan was surprised. “What qualifications do you have to say that?”
Jian Yang was also surprised. Yes, what right did he have?
This was so embarrassing in front of Dongdong, after all, he was Dongdong’s boss.
“This is my movie. Only I can say not to shoot. No one else can make the decision for me,” Jian Yang’s voice grew smaller, “Not even you, sir.”
After saying this, Jian Yang’s face flushed. If Guan Ciyan denied him now, he really wouldn’t know what to say. “Dongdong, you guys go out first. I need to talk to Sir.”
Dongdong gave him a grateful look.
Guan Ciyan didn’t stop them, as he didn’t want anyone to see Jian Yang just after his bath.
Now there were only two people left. Jian Yang pulled down his pride and hooked Guan Ciyan’s arm. “Sir, why did you jump into the water earlier?”
“Why didn’t you drown, Jian Yang?” Guan Ciyan pulled his arm away and sat on the sofa.
Jian Yang followed him and sat next to him, their shoulders touching. The fragrance from the bath became stronger as they were closer. As Jian Yang sat, his bathrobe opened slightly, revealing a bit of his inner thigh, and Guan Ciyan quickly looked away, though he could see the outline of his ribs and collarbones through the open neckline.
He was too thin.
Guan Ciyan felt sorry for him. He only had a delicate waist with a bit of soft flesh. Thinking of the times he had held that waist, his palm grew hot, and he shifted slightly to the side. Jian Yang, not knowing when to stop, leaned closer. “Sir, you were worried about me, weren’t you?”
As he spoke, his warm breath blew on Guan Ciyan’s face, causing his muscles to tense up. Guan Ciyan looked down at Jian Yang, seeing the sly and pleased look in his eyes, like a little hamster.
So stupid.
Did he know what that meant for a man right now?
“Sir,” Jian Yang’s voice softened, sweet when he purposefully made it clingy. “I know you’re worried about me, but I really want this film to turn out better. I’ve been treating my eyes just to act. Otherwise, if my eyes are golden, blue, or red, what does it matter? I don’t care what others think of me. You don’t even know how badly I was scolded in the beginning. But today, the director even praised me. Can you be happy for me?”
“Sir, be happy for me,” Jian Yang pleaded, hooking his hands around Guan Ciyan’s forearm and looking at him with pleading eyes.
His clear golden eyes sparkled, and his little face tilted to the side, like a cat begging for attention. Guan Ciyan closed his eyes and took a deep breath, then picked Jian Yang up and placed him on the bed. “Where’s your medicine?”
“It’s in the next room, keeping warm.”
Guan Ciyan brought the medicine to Jian Yang’s bedside and helped him take it. Jian Yang reached for the rainbow candy that Dongdong had placed on the bedside table, but Guan Ciyan slapped his hand away. “Aren’t you capable? What are you eating candy for? You should be taught a lesson.”
Jian Yang pouted and stopped trying to eat it.
Guan Ciyan smiled lightly, peeled open the candy, and put it in Jian Yang’s mouth. “Sleep for a while. If you’re not feeling well, I’ll take you to Su Lao right away.”
“Okay,” Jian Yang said, his mouth watering from the sweet candy, swallowing happily. “But we have to continue filming tomorrow.”
“You will fall asleep within five minutes.”
Jian Yang immediately closed his eyes, but then opened them again. “Sir, are you cold? Do you want to sleep together?”
As he spoke, Jian Yang lifted the blanket, revealing his pale chest, with a hint of redness visible. Guan Ciyan turned around. “Sleep.”
“Oh.”
Jian Yang thought that Guan Ciyan had given him the only presidential suite here and invited him to sleep together. Guan Ciyan then refused. It wasn’t really that he couldn’t, maybe he was just afraid of what he might discover. But this wasn’t the morning, even if he didn’t stand up, it was still normal, wasn’t he being overly cautious?
Guan Ciyan forced himself to think about work, suppressing the burning desire in his stomach. He turned around and heard Jian Yang let out a small sigh.
He could sleep, only he could sleep.
Guan Ciyan closed the door and left. He was sensitive to the lingering scent of Jian Yang’s bath in the air, his smooth and fair skin, his slender chest, and he couldn’t help but wonder what lay below. Probably the same, after all, his legs were also so fair.
When it came to desire, Guan Ciyan never had much interest. In the first twenty-some years of his life, no one had ever made him feel such an impulse. He didn’t often indulge himself, as he had too many things weighing on his shoulders. The pleasures of the world couldn’t spark his interest.
But under Jian Yang’s casual words, he found it hard to control himself.
Guan Ciyan grabbed a sofa pillow and pressed it to his legs, closing his eyes in meditation. Jian Yang was too young, not understanding anything, and he couldn’t let the child’s random invitations become something serious. Deep down, Guan Ciyan still wanted to give Jian Yang a chance to regret it. He also wanted Jian Yang to be more mature before moving forward.
For the next three days, Guan Ciyan took a rare break and pushed all his work aside, staying with Jian Yang on the set. The scenes these days were light, mostly non-action. No one dared to let Jian Yang do anything under Guan Ciyan’s watch, and Jian Yang himself didn’t dare either.
Bai Shun was worried about Wen Ye being bullied, so if Guan Ciyan stayed for the day, Bai Shun stayed too.
Dong Dong nearly lost his job and greatly admired Bai Shun’s ability to predict the future. “Bai Emperor, how did you know everything would be fine?”
Bai Shun tilted his chin toward Jian Yang, who was in front of the camera. “Look, where is your boss’s boss?”
Dong Dong: “Are you saying Mr. Guan listens to Xiao Yang? No way, I think Xiao Yang is also a bit scared of Mr. Guan.”
“Well, has your boss ever denied anything Jian Yang said?”
Dong Dong thought for a moment and realized, no, that had never happened.
The last time they were eating spicy hotpot in the office, Mr. Guan walked in with a dark face, saw Jian Yang eating happily, and silently opened the door and left.
