Chapter 114: Don’t Pretend with Me
“Honey, I’m sorry. I was wrong. Boohoo, I really know my mistake. Please forgive me. Don’t kick me out of the dating show,” Bai Ruoruo pleaded, her voice trembling as she tried to look pitiful.
She had spent the entire afternoon perfecting a look that made her appear like a delicate, weeping flower, designed to elicit sympathy.
But there was no trace of true remorse in her eyes, only calculated manipulation.
While pretending to seek forgiveness, she implied that Jiang Mi was using her influence and capital to force her out of the dating show.
Jiang Mi stepped forward, smirking. “Bai Ruoruo, don’t play games with me. You don’t need to be so coy with your words.”
Bai Ruoruo’s heart leapt with hope. Could it be that Jiang Mi planned to put on an act of deep sisterly affection for the camera, to establish a benevolent and magnanimous persona?
Even though this would mean she could no longer scheme against Jiang Mi, could she not use this opportunity to ease their relationship and find a chance to plot against her later?
Bai Ruoruo smiled, reaching out to grasp Jiang Mi’s arm.
But in the next moment, there was a sharp slap.
Instantly, Bai Ruoruo felt as if her wrist was about to break, pain shooting through her.
Just as Bai Ruoruo was about to lash out, she quickly adjusted, falling to the ground and putting on a look of deep grievance, her eyes reddened as if she had suffered a great injustice. “Honey?”
Jiang Mi looked down at her with disdain, her voice cold and disgusted. “If you want to accuse me of using my capital to pressure the production team to kick you out of the dating show, just say it. Don’t pretend.”
Bai Ruoruo’s smile froze, and she feigned grievance, “I didn’t.”
Jiang Mi was blunt. “If you didn’t, then get lost. Don’t stand in my way.”
Bai Ruoruo’s expression darkened, but she still remembered the purpose of her visit. “Honey, I’m really here to apologize.”
Jiang Mi raised an eyebrow, her eyes filled with mockery.
“I only see you pretending to be wronged, deliberately falling to the ground, acting as if I’ve mistreated you. I haven’t heard a single ‘sorry’ from your mouth.”
“Bai Ruoruo, is this what you call a sincere apology?”
【Well said! I was wondering why it felt off. It turns out Bai Ruoruo’s apology was just for show. She never actually said ‘sorry’ to Jiang Mi. It’s not sincere at all!】
【Yes, she only wants to tell everyone that she’s apologized so they’ll stop criticizing her.】
【Damn, I almost fell for it. I thought her apology meant she wasn’t that bad after all, but now, she’s just trash!】
【Good thing Jiang Mi is clear-headed and wasn’t fooled by Bai Ruoruo’s act. Truly a master at seeing through fake apologies.】
Bai Ruoruo couldn’t see the frenzied comments online, but she could sense the disdain from the staff on site.
She really wanted to walk away, but she knew that even if she left, Mr. Fu wouldn’t be able to protect her.
Seething with anger, she took a deep breath, gritted her teeth, and said quietly, “Sorry.”
Jiang Mi smirked. “I didn’t hear that.”
Bai Ruoruo bit her lip and raised her voice. “Sorry!”
Jiang Mi turned to Gu Chuan, her eyes sparkling with a playful glint. “Did you hear that?”
Gu Chuan indulged Jiang Mi’s playful side, responding, “No.”
Jiang Mi was satisfied, turning back to Bai Ruoruo with a condescending gaze. “What did you say?”
Jiang Mi stood there, tall and elegant, exuding a cold and regal aura, while Bai Ruoruo, who had fallen to the ground, appeared like a pitiful fool.
Bai Ruoruo felt humiliated, clenching her fists, and shouted, “Jiang Mi, I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I know I was wrong. Please forgive me!”
Jiang Mi took a step back, clicking her tongue in annoyance. “You’re hurting my ears.”
Bai Ruoruo glared at Jiang Mi with hatred. “I’ve already apologized. Can you forgive me now?”
Her commanding tone was less of an apology and more of a demand.
Jiang Mi’s expression turned icy. “No.”
“I’ve apologized. What more do you want from me?” Bai Ruoruo felt that Jiang Mi was toying with her.
Jiang Mi stepped closer, slightly bending forward, her eyes piercing as she looked at Bai Ruoruo.
“Is there any law that says an apology must be accepted?”
“Also, where do you get the nerve to think that a light apology means I have to forgive you and completely erase the harm you’ve done to me?”
Bai Ruoruo protested, “But I didn’t hurt you.”
“You should be thankful you didn’t hurt me, or else…” Jiang Mi’s gaze was sharp as she formed the words silently, ‘I’d have killed you.’
Bai Ruoruo was scared by the cold, menacing aura and trembled uncontrollably. When she reacted, Jiang Mi spoke with righteous indignation.
“Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here giving a fake apology. You’d be in jail, confessing your crimes!”
Bai Ruoruo: “…….”
Jiang Mi sneered, no longer interested in continuing the conversation, and pulled Gu Chuan away.
Leaving Bai Ruoruo alone on the beach, she sat there like a clown, performing a self-styled drama that only served to add to her humiliation.
【I really can’t stand Bai Ruoruo’s scheming ways. She’s so annoying. Why doesn’t the production team terminate her contract? I don’t want to see her anymore!】
【Those who know the truth realize she’s only apologizing for show, not genuinely to Jiang Mi. She hasn’t even said the words ‘sorry’.】
【Bai Ruoruo made a mistake and has already apologized. What more do you want? And Jiang Mi hasn’t been harmed in any way. Why won’t she just let Bai Ruoruo go?】
【Jiang Mi is so unreasonable. Even though she’s fine, she pretends to be hurt and gains sympathy while using her influence to force Bai Ruoruo out.】
【Classic case of turning the tables. Fans are so naive and hypocritical.】
【Seriously, Bai Ruoruo says Jiang Mi used her influence to get her kicked off the show, so why hasn’t she left yet?】
【It seems Bai Ruoruo’s backers are really powerful. Even with her public image in shambles, the show hasn’t let her go. Her backers must be significant.】
【Really, let’s dig into who’s supporting Bai Ruoruo. It seems like there’s a big reveal coming!】
