Chapter 128: Lingering Itch
In an instant, the force became uncontrollable.
His dark eyes locked onto the girl in his arms, a faint, fiery red gleam flickering within.
Like a beast trapped deep in a cage for far too long—its claws sharp, its gaze fierce, as if it might pounce and tear her apart in the very next moment.
He raised his hand, gently lifting her delicate chin. “Mi-bao, you’re inviting me.”
His voice was low, seductive, and filled with temptation.
Jiang Mi slightly lowered her eyes, her porcelain-white, exquisite cheeks tinged with blush. Her red lips pressed together, making her look even more alluring. “So, will you accept the invitation?”
Her final words were soft, teasing, and ignited a burning desire.
Accept? Of course, he would!
But suddenly, a phone rang beside them—sharp and loud.
The intimate atmosphere was abruptly shattered.
Jiang Mi jumped, startled, and reached for the phone, irritated. She wanted to turn it off and toss it aside, but her finger accidentally hit the play button. Immediately, the director’s voice, filled with a hint of mischief, echoed through the room.
“Just a heads-up to all our guests: tomorrow’s game will be very physically demanding, so make sure to get a good rest tonight and conserve your energy.”
Gu Chuan: “…….”
Jiang Mi: “……..”
Jiang Mi gritted her teeth, fuming. “Why do I feel like the director did this on purpose? He didn’t send the message earlier or later, but right when we were about to…”
Gu Chuan lowered his head, kissing Jiang Mi’s soft earlobe in small, tender pecks, his voice husky, “About to what?”
Of course, about to… do those things.
Jiang Mi’s cheeks flushed even more, and in her embarrassment, she bit Gu Chuan’s chin.
Gu Chuan let her nibble away, then teased, “Mi-bao, so eager?”
Jiang Mi glared at him with her moist peach blossom eyes, refusing to back down. “You’re mine. Wanting you—isn’t that normal?”
Her words were firm.
But her gaze was soft, and the tiny black mole at the corner of her eye quivered, as if inviting him to tease her more.
Gu Chuan took the phone from Jiang Mi’s hand and threw it accurately into the drawer. Then, he cupped her soft neck and kissed her deeply. “It’s normal.”
But.
Gu Chuan ultimately cherished his Mi-bao.
Tonight’s intense activity, combined with tomorrow’s physically demanding competition, would be too much for Jiang Mi to handle.
If something happened because of it, Gu Chuan couldn’t bear it.
However, even if they couldn’t do everything, they could still do something.
Who knows how much time had passed.
Jiang Mi was completely relaxed, leaning limply in Gu Chuan’s arms, her eyes half-closed in a daze. Her body felt light, as if floating on clouds, or soaking in a warm spring.
Suddenly, Gu Chuan lifted her up.
Jiang Mi’s eyelids fluttered as she clung to Gu Chuan’s neck, her voice soft and pleading. “Don’t leave, I want you to hold me while I sleep.”
Gu Chuan hummed in agreement. “I’m taking you to bed.”
He placed her gently on the soft mattress. The tired and sleepy girl curled up like a contented kitten and fell into a deep slumber.
Gu Chuan watched her sleeping face, and the image of her seductive expressions in his arms flashed through his mind.
His gaze deepened, and the veins at his temples throbbed slightly.
Suddenly, he got up and went to take a cold shower.
Only when she heard the sound of running water did Jiang Mi quietly open her eyes.
The feeling just now was really strange.
Her body was soft and weak, and there was still an itch that hadn’t faded.
Realizing what she was thinking about, Jiang Mi quickly pulled the covers over her face, now flushed red as a tomato.
Ah, ah, ah, no thinking about it! No thinking about it!
But the more she tried not to think about it, the harder it was to control her thoughts.
In the end, Jiang Mi decided to spend some points and exchanged them for an “Instant Sleep Package” from Bumbun, finally banishing those extremely intimate images from her mind.
……
The next day, after having lunch at the villa, the two of them prepared to head out to the recording site for the show.
As soon as they stepped out the door, they ran into the unpleasant sight of Shen Mingxuan.
He looked like he hadn’t slept all night and was still wearing the same clothes from yesterday.
His eyes were dull, with dark circles beneath them, and a shadow of stubble had appeared on his chin. There was a red, swollen mark near the corner of his left eye, as if someone had punched him. He looked utterly disheveled.
When he saw Gu Chuan and Jiang Mi coming out, a flash of intense jealousy crossed his eyes, but he quickly collected himself, scurrying over like a grandson to apologize.
“President Gu, I’m sorry. I was blind and didn’t recognize your greatness yesterday. Please forgive me this once.”
Gu Chuan’s gaze was cold, as if Shen Mingxuan wasn’t even worth noticing—small, insignificant, unworthy of attention.
Jiang Mi, however, lazily asked, “Where are the cameras?”
Shen Mingxuan was taken aback. “What?”
Jiang Mi kindly reminded him, “The Shen family head ordered you to kneel and apologize in front of the whole online audience. But right now, there’s no live stream, and you’re not kneeling. Are you defying the Shen family head’s orders?”
At the mention of the Shen family head, Shen Mingxuan’s face turned deathly pale, and he stammered, “I, I…”
Meanwhile, Jiang Mi was secretly poking Gu Chuan’s waist.
His waist was firm and strong.
Jiang Mi found it oddly satisfying to keep poking, but in the next moment, Gu Chuan caught her mischievous hand in his.
Jiang Mi stopped her antics, raised an eyebrow at Gu Chuan, looking like she was eagerly awaiting some drama.
Gu Chuan knew exactly what she wanted to do. Though he found it boring—after all, dealing with someone like Shen Mingxuan was as easy as crushing him with a single blow—since Jiang Mi wanted to torment him bit by bit, breaking his spirit, Gu Chuan indulged her.
He spoke in a cold, terse voice, “Livestream the kneeling apology.”
With that, he took Jiang Mi’s hand and left.
The two of them were elegant and noble, standing high above.
Meanwhile, he was like a bug crawling on the ground, suffering under their humiliation.
Shen Mingxuan was seething with hatred in his heart. Who did Gu Chuan think he was to give orders like that?
And as for Jiang Mi, who once claimed to love him so much, she had quickly abandoned him the moment someone more powerful came along.
Slut, they’re all sluts!
Shen Mingxuan was furious, wanting to roar, to curse them out, but deep down he knew all too well that his only hope of getting Gu Chuan’s forgiveness and restoring the partnership with FGH was to comply. Only then might Shen Hui spare him.
Otherwise, not only would he lose his place as the heir, but he’d also be completely kicked out of the Shen family!
No, that can’t happen. Without the Shen family, without becoming the future head of the Shen family, no matter how many Best Actor awards he won, he’d never shed the label of an illegitimate child, and he’d never truly be accepted into high society.
But does he really have to kneel and apologize to Gu Chuan in public?
As Shen Mingxuan struggled with his dilemma, a soft voice called out behind him, “Brother Mingxuan.”
Shen Mingxuan had always cared deeply about his image. Now, after a sleepless night, looking so disheveled, he didn’t want to see Bai Ruoruo and tried to walk away.
But Bai Ruoruo quickly ran up and grabbed his hand.
Shen Mingxuan was so angry he wanted to shake her off.
But her next words made his body freeze.
“I have a way to get you out of this mess. It’ll not only get Gu Chuan to forgive you and resume the partnership with the Shen family, but also teach Jiang Mi a lesson.”
“What way?”
A sinister, twisted expression appeared on Bai Ruoruo’s pale face, her eyes full of malice and madness.
“Brother Mingxuan, do you remember the childhood engagement you had with Jiang Mi?”
