Chapter 157: Shen Mingxuan and Bai Ruoruo – Dog Bites Dog
[Comment Section:]
Perhaps it was Jiang Mi’s serious expression when she said those words, but everyone felt their hearts skip a beat.
So, Jiang Mi wasn’t Jiang Mi after all.
No wonder she no longer had thick bangs, no longer dressed plainly, and no longer obsessed over Shen Mingxuan…
But Lu Yu was the first to rush forward, her soft voice carrying a slight sob, “Jiang Mi, you are Jiang Mi!”
Others quickly joined in, shouting, “Forever Sister Mi, forever a goddess.”
Only Gu Chuan stood there, his dark eyes fixed on Jiang Mi’s back without blinking, his expression unchanged from beginning to end.
Suddenly, he took a step forward…
At this moment, Shen Mingxuan’s heart was filled with joy. His face twisted in madness as he looked around wildly, shouting, “She admitted it! She admitted she’s not Jiang Mi! Quick, someone find a Taoist priest! Seal her away, grind her bones to dust, and cast her into the deepest level of hell!”
Jiang Mi glanced coldly at Shen Mingxuan’s crazed behavior, the corner of her lips curving into a frosty smile, just as she was about to speak.
Suddenly, she felt a familiar warmth beside her.
It was Gu Chuan.
Shen Mingxuan looked up as well, his voice cracking with excitement, “Gu Chuan, you heard her too! She’s not Jiang Mi! She’s a demon that’s taken over her body! You’ve been bewitched!”
Gu Chuan stared at him with cold eyes, as if looking at a dead man. His thin lips parted, but his voice was warm and full of affection.
“Jiang Mi has always been Jiang Mi. She has never changed.”
At this moment, Gu Chuan appeared as elegant and dignified as ever, like a god standing on high.
Meanwhile, Shen Mingxuan looked like a crawling ant begging for survival, a lost dog, a pathetic clown.
“No! She’s not Jiang Mi! She’s a demon that’s possessed her! The Jiang Mi I knew loved me so much she was willing to die for me. This one isn’t Jiang Mi at all!”
Jiang Mi crouched down beside him, her gaze sharp and icy. “So, you knew that the Jiang Mi of the past loved you enough to die for you?”
“She gave you all her love, and what did you do in return?”
“I… I…”
Shen Mingxuan’s heart pounded wildly in his chest, a strange sense of fear creeping in.
Clearly, the Jiang Mi in front of him was dressed in a sleek, purple tracksuit, exuding a cold, fierce aura. Yet Shen Mingxuan could almost see a shadow of the old Jiang Mi—a girl with thick bangs, weird makeup, trailing after him like a loyal dog.
His body trembled violently, his pupils shaking with terror. “There’s no law that says just because she liked me, I had to like her back. Right, I just didn’t like her!”
“Yes, not liking her wasn’t your fault. Rejecting her would have been fine. But what did you do instead? You needed the Jiang family’s wealth and power, so even though you didn’t like her, you strung her along. You’d give her occasional warm words, ambiguous promises, and even made unrealistic commitments.”
Shen Mingxuan panicked. “No, no, I didn’t.”
Jiang Mi’s voice turned cold as ice. “You coveted her money and influence while keeping her hooked, all while conspiring with Bai Ruoruo behind her back to crush her. You schemed to strip her of her wealth and drain her of all her value.”
“When she saw with her own eyes how you and Bai plotted against her until her death, how could she ever love you again?”
Her voice was full of bloodshed, laden with bitter agony.
Shen Mingxuan wanted to explain, to deny everything, but through his blurry vision, it was as if Jiang Mi had taken on a different face.
She no longer had her limbs—her arms and legs were hollow, oozing blood. Her eyes were drenched in red, terrifyingly scarlet. She looked deranged and fearsome, like a ghost that had just crawled out of hell.
She stuck out her tongue, dragging herself toward him, like a vengeful spirit coming to claim his life, rasping the same questions over and over: Why did you scheme against me? Why did you kill me? Why? Why?
Shen Mingxuan shrank back, trembling violently. His face was twisted with terror, and his inner panic grew louder and louder.
His heart completely shattered. He held his head in his hands, screaming, “Stay away from me! Don’t come any closer! I only wanted to use the Jiang family’s wealth and power to reclaim my position as head of the family! I never really planned to marry you! It’s your fault! You’re the one who kept clinging to me! Yes, it’s all your fault!”

Jiang Mi watched Shen Mingxuan spiral into madness, her cold eyes filled with mockery as she let out a sarcastic laugh.
Hearing her laughter, Shen Mingxuan became even more terrified, frantically shouting, “No, it’s not like that! Jiang Mi, don’t come for me! I didn’t want to hurt you—it was all Bai Ruoruo! Yes, it was that b***h whispering bad things about you in my ear!”
In that instant, Bai Ruoruo’s heart sank, and she instinctively tried to hide.
But it was too late. Shen Mingxuan had already spotted her, and without hesitation, he crawled toward her on all fours.
Bai Ruoruo shrank back, panicking. “Mingxuan, don’t come near me! Don’t come near me! Ah!”
Shen Mingxuan grabbed her leg tightly, his hands covered in dirt and blood, smearing her skin.
“It’s all you! You seduced me, you manipulated me!”
“You were jealous of Jiang Mi’s beauty, so you deliberately said I liked plain styles. You made her keep her thick bangs and dress in those dull clothes!”
“You trampled on her to rise to the top. You bought all the trolls to smear her, telling her that being controversial was the way to become truly famous, so she wouldn’t clear up the rumors.”
“It was you, all of it was you! Every awful thing was your doing!”
Terrified by the illusion of the ghost haunting him, Shen Mingxuan was desperate, pushing all the blame onto Bai Ruoruo.
Bai Ruoruo could feel everyone’s eyes on her—some with curiosity, others with disdain. She frantically denied it. “No, no! I didn’t do any of that!”
“You did! I know it all! You were jealous because Jiang Mi came from a better family, looked better, and had a better figure. So you pretended to be close to her, using her connections while scheming against her behind her back.”
Bai Ruoruo panicked, disgusted by Shen Mingxuan’s betrayal.
If Shen Mingxuan wanted to go crazy, fine, but why drag her down to hell with him?
Furious, Bai Ruoruo decided to throw the blame back at him.
“You always acted so righteous, claiming Jiang Mi gave everything to you willingly. But the truth is, you tricked her! Your first lead role in a movie? It was Jiang Mi who used her family connections to secure it for you. And afterward, you had the nerve to tell her to mind her own business. You’re the one who played the hypocrite!”
Shen Mingxuan, enraged, shouted, “Shut up! That’s not true! You’re the vile one who used me—I was bewitched by you!”
Bai Ruoruo wasn’t backing down. “You’re the real parasite! You used Jiang Mi to get where you are today.”
Everyone watching was utterly shocked by this dog-eat-dog spectacle.
These two were truly a disgrace—filthy, shameless, and utterly despicable!
But poor Jiang Mi—what terrible luck she had to encounter two such heartless ingrates.
Jiang Mi touched her chin thoughtfully. She hadn’t expected that the true heroine of this world would turn out to be such a wicked supporting character. Without her, neither the male nor female leads would have grown to where they were today, nor would they have stood on their own.

Just as Shen Mingxuan and Bai Ruoruo were fighting fiercely, a sudden commotion erupted in the distance.
Everyone turned to look.
They were approaching, all dressed in authoritative blue uniforms, radiating a sense of power and dignity.
