Chapter 166: No Flirting Allowed
Though it was summer, the sink still felt icy cold. The chill hit Jiang Mi’s skin, making her instinctively flinch.
Just as she moved, the man’s burning hot hand gripped her waist even tighter.
A soft moan escaped her lips, “Gu Chuan?”
Gu Chuan let out a low hum, pressing closer to her, his dark eyes staring intently into hers.
“What exactly…”
Before she could finish her sentence, the sound of running water suddenly filled the small, quiet space. At the same time, the man’s scorching kiss descended upon her.
The sound of water mixed with the wet, intimate noises, blending into one.
It was unclear how much time had passed before the faucet was turned off. The room echoed only with their ragged, soft breaths.
Jiang Mi’s body, weakened from the encounter, leaned against Gu Chuan’s chest. She could feel the searing heat and firmness of his body, especially as she listened to his strong heartbeat thumping in his chest. It stirred something in her.
Since that night, they hadn’t done it again.
At first, it was because her body hadn’t fully recovered. Later, when she had, she became too busy with filming commercials, leaving no time for it.
Now, Gu Chuan had brought her to the bathroom, with the sound of running water to cover them. He probably wanted to do that, right?
Jiang Mi bit her lip, her hand moving toward him…
But just then, Gu Chuan’s low, magnetic voice sounded, “From now on, stay away from Mr. Fu.”
Jiang Mi, who had been secretly making her move, was startled. She lifted her flushed face, her eyes wide with confusion as she looked at Gu Chuan.
Gu Chuan lowered his gaze to meet hers, his voice deepening, “You don’t want to?”
Jiang Mi parted her lips, “It’s not that… What does he have to do with this?”
In the original story, Mr. Fu was portrayed as a soft, loyal follower.
But now, from her observations, Mr. Fu seemed to be paying a lot of attention to Gu Chuan. The two of them had exchanged glances several times.
Wait a minute. Jiang Mi suddenly clenched the fabric of Gu Chuan’s shirt, her eyes widening slightly, even the small mole at the corner of her eye seeming to darken with severity.
“You stay away from him too. No more exchanging looks.”
“…”
Seeing that Gu Chuan remained silent, Jiang Mi shook his shirt, “Gu Chuan, did you hear me?”
Gu Chuan remained quiet for a moment before replying, “I heard.”
Jiang Mi sighed in relief.
Having traveled through countless worlds, she had seen all kinds of relationships—between men and women, men and men, and even women and women.
Honestly, someone like her Gu Chuan—cold, tough, and incredibly handsome, exuding strong masculinity—was prime material for the gay community. Actually, no, in any community, Gu Chuan was the top-tier prize that everyone, regardless of gender, would chase after!
Jiang Mi pulled Gu Chuan down and planted a firm kiss on his chin. “Gu Chuan, we’ve confirmed our relationship. You’re mine. Every part of you is mine.”
Gu Chuan: “…”
For some reason, the one declaring ownership had suddenly switched roles.
But Gu Chuan didn’t mind. In fact, he quite liked it. “Yes, all yours.”
Jiang Mi blinked, her small hand sliding to Gu Chuan’s side. Her voice became soft and teasing, “Then I want to touch.”
As she spoke, her fingers lifted the hem of his shirt.
Her warm, gentle palm pressed against his sculpted abs.
Gu Chuan’s muscles tensed, and he instinctively grabbed her wrist, his voice hoarse, “Don’t mess around. We’re still live streaming.”
Jiang Mi let out a light hum, “No, it’s lunch break. The cameraman isn’t here.”
The cameraman wasn’t there.
But there were cameras installed throughout the room.
Gu Chuan took a deep breath, his dark eyes burning as he looked at the girl in his arms. His voice was restrained but gentle, “Be good. Just wait a bit. After the show, I’ll give you what you want.”
Those words made it sound like she was some kind of lustful demon.
Jiang Mi’s face flushed bright red. Feeling both embarrassed and annoyed, she snapped, “You can hold on yourself. I’m going to take a nap.”
After saying that, she jumped off the sink and left the bathroom without a second’s hesitation.
Gu Chuan watched her retreating figure, a smile of indulgence curling at the corners of his lips.
As Jiang Mi walked out, she still felt indignant.
He had dragged her into the bathroom, kissed and touched her, only to then say he had no such intentions.
So, what exactly was Gu Chuan up to?
【Is it possible that the boss was jealous?】
Jiang Mi couldn’t understand. “He’s been exchanging looks with Mr. Fu the whole time. If anyone should be jealous, it’s me, right?”
【…】
The system, “Benben,” was utterly speechless. It marveled at how its brilliant host, always so clever, turned clueless the moment she was in love.
Even the system, a mere program, could see that Mr. Fu’s attitude towards Jiang Mi was anything but ordinary. Yet Jiang Mi firmly believed that he had improper intentions toward Gu Chuan instead.
Incredible.
After lunch, the program announced the afternoon activity: all the guests would go to the river to catch fish. The method didn’t matter; the team that caught the most fish would win.
Each guest had their own unique approach.
Some opted to fish quietly by the riverbank.
Others decided to wade into the water and spear fish directly.
Jiang Mi and Gu Chuan borrowed a fishing net from a villager to scoop fish. They had no other choice. After lunch, their popularity in the village skyrocketed, with villagers eagerly offering advice and help.
Bai Ruoruo, on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky. When she knocked on villagers’ doors to borrow tools, very few bothered to respond. Some even mocked her, saying her fishing tools were too shabby for a high-class celebrity like her.
When Jiang Mi and Gu Chuan returned with a large bucket full of fish, they spotted Mr. Fu standing in the river, trying to spear fish.
The water nearly submerged half of his wheelchair.
Mr. Fu, who was already disabled, was standing in the river. Yikes.
Jiang Mi couldn’t help but remark aloud, and Gu Chuan spoke up, “You feel sorry for him?”
Jiang Mi immediately blurted out, “Why would I feel sorry for him? If I’m going to pity anyone, it would be you! No, what I mean is, I only feel sorry for you.”
Gu Chuan’s expression softened considerably.
Jiang Mi thought Gu Chuan was acting strangely today. Normally, he was indifferent, and this was the first time he’d ever paid so much attention to someone else.
Jiang Mi wasn’t the type to keep questions to herself. She wanted to ask him directly, but she wasn’t given the chance.
Cheng Lin and Yang Yang had just finished catching their fish and were excitedly sharing their fishing adventures with her.
Jiang Mi decided to ask later, but the conversation didn’t stop until the fishing contest ended.
In the end, Jiang Mi and Gu Chuan took first place and once again chose the two-and-a-half-story house.
What was surprising was that Mr. Fu and Bai Ruoruo came in second. Even more astonishing, they still chose the most rundown house.
There were no special tasks that evening. The program’s theme was simple: “Cook what you catch.” It was focused on rural cuisine.
Jiang Mi and Gu Chuan had caught more fish than they could possibly eat, so they kept two small crucian carp and one bighead carp.
The crucian carp would be cooked in a fish soup with tofu.
The bighead carp would be made into chopped pepper fish head.
Just as they put the fish in the pot to simmer, there was a sudden knock at the door. Bai Ruoruo’s shameless voice followed.
“Brother Gu, our thatched cottage kitchen is too dirty and rundown. Would it be possible to borrow your kitchen to make a meal?”
