Chapter 31: This Little Green Tea, I’ll Handle It; You All Feel Free
Jiang Mi tilted her head and saw that the man’s profile looked sharper and more austere than usual, like a blade about to be unsheathed.
“Gu Chuan.”
“I’m here.”
“Are you upset?”
“Mm.”
“Mm???”
Gu Chuan’s straightforward admission left Jiang Mi momentarily stunned and stammering, “W-why?”
Gu Chuan lowered his gaze, his deep, dark eyes fixed on the person in his arms. Regardless of whether it was real or not, he didn’t like Jiang Mi focusing her attention on other men.
“We’ve arrived.”
“Huh?”
Jiang Mi was still dazed and didn’t immediately react when, at that moment, the proud white horse in the stable snorted disdainfully near her ear.
Startled by the unexpected burst of hot breath, she instinctively turned and hid in the man’s embrace.
The man’s chest was firm, broad, and warm.
As the low chuckle echoed from above her head, she could clearly feel the vibrations in his chest.
Especially as the man’s voice grew more resonant and magnetic, he said, “Don’t be afraid.”
Jiang Mi noticed the menacing look of the white horse out of the corner of her eye and wanted to say that she could easily tame a horse many times fiercer than this “little colt” and wasn’t afraid of it!
Her heart was still completely focused on Gu Chuan, but the sudden warmth brushing against her neck caught her off guard.
Fortunately, she hadn’t forgotten that her current persona didn’t know how to ride a horse.
So, she tightened her small hands around the man’s sturdy back, nuzzled against his chest, and said softly, “I’m scared.”
Gu Chuan glanced down, seeing the soft, frightened woman in his arms giving a provocative smile toward the white horse.
His brow arched slightly, and the dark, ominous mood inside him unexpectedly dissipated.
The provoked white horse reared up, neighing loudly.
Jiang Mi nuzzled closer to Gu Chuan and tilted her head slightly, her eyes moist, “Brother, its cry is so unpleasant.”
A faint smile flickered in Gu Chuan’s black eyes. He cupped Jiang Mi’s pink, tender ears with his large hand and looked at the white horse with a threatening gaze.
The once proud horse now looked like a little puppy, lowering its head and nuzzling toward Gu Chuan in a fawning manner.
[Hahaha, this makes me think of a saying: Good people are easily bullied, and gentle horses are easily ridden.]
[Shouldn’t it be that they bully the soft and fear the hard?]
[But someone who can easily tame a Tibetan mastiff would be afraid of a docile white horse in the stable?]
[I suddenly remember Jiang Mi saying she’s allergic to white lotus not long ago, hahaha, she herself is like a little white lotus.]
[Clearly a little green tea, brother, I’m so scared.]
[Although everyone can see Jiang Mi is acting, I still have to say my wife is so delicate, I’m all in!]
[This little green tea, I’ll handle it; you all feel free.]
[No way, no, Jiang Mi is Chuan-ge’s, only Chuan-ge can handle her.]
[I suspect the person above is being inappropriate and have evidence.]
The white horse’s temper subsided, and Jiang Mi realized it was no longer appropriate to act scared. However, she still tried hard to maintain her persona, “I’ve never ridden a horse, how do I do it?”
Cheng Lin, who happened to pass by, almost couldn’t help but mock, “We had horse riding as a required course in elementary school, come on, stop pretending!”
Jiang Mi cast a faint glance at Cheng Lin.
Cheng Lin immediately looked up at the sky, “What a nice day today!!!”
[The friendship between Cheng Lin and Jiang Mi is so touching; this is the camaraderie from playing house together.]
[The elegant, aloof sister and the little puppy, I’m shipping them hard.]
[By the way, Cheng Lin’s persona should be the domineering president, but because he spoke up, he’s become the silly president.]
[Haha, this is why Cheng Lin is afraid of Jiang Mi, the master of taming dogs.]
Gu Chuan lifted Jiang Mi’s chin, his dark eyes locked on her, “I’ll teach you.”
Jiang Mi blinked, “I’ll listen to you.”
She could have just said “good,” but she chose to phrase it ambiguously, as if saying, “I’ll do whatever you want.”
Gu Chuan opened the stable and let the white horse out.
It stamped its front hooves and then stood still, obedient and docile.
Lu Yu, observing from afar, felt relieved. The horses in the riding area were all tamed and looked very well-behaved, so there was nothing to be afraid of.
Trying to comfort herself, Lu Yu approached with excitement, eager to touch the horses. Who hasn’t dreamed of galloping through the martial arts world?
But as she reached out, the black horse reared up, letting out a loud whinny.
“Ah—”
Lu Yu screamed louder than the horse and quickly leaped into Fu Li’s arms.
The impact was so great that Fu Li had to take a few steps back to steady himself.
Lu Yu glanced back, seeing the black horse stamping its front hooves as if it was charging toward her, and screamed even more, “Ah, ah, ah, don’t come over, Fu Li, it’s coming toward me!!!”
Fu Li, smelling the sweet strawberry milk scent on the girl, was momentarily dazed, but then he quickly came back to his senses, or rather, became more confused.
Because Lu Yu, in her extreme fear, wrapped her legs around Fu Li’s waist and her arms around his neck, accidentally knocking off his glasses.
Fu Li, somewhat helpless, patted the girl’s back, “First… don’t squeeze so tightly.”
[!!!!!!]
[Oh wow, it turns out these two are even more intense.]
[Baby, relax, don’t squeeze so tight.]
[Mommy, I want to report this, they’re driving! Ah!]
[I suddenly realized these two are so sweet together, little sweet potato all cuddled up in Fu Li’s arms, I really love it.]
Lu Yu was stunned, looking at Fu Li who was so close to her.
Without his glasses, Fu Li’s eyes were squinted, looking dreamy and blurred.
Lu Yu looked at him, her face turning completely red. Only then did she realize she had practically jumped into Fu Li’s arms, her legs tightly around his waist…
Her face flushed even more.
She quickly jumped down from Fu Li’s arms.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
Fu Li could only vaguely see the girl’s pink face, and with a gentle smile, he said, “If you really want to apologize, then…”
“Hmm?” Lu Yu stared with her big, wet eyes, “Just tell me, I’ll do whatever I can.”
Fu Li pointed to his eyes, which were smiling, “Find my glasses.”
“Mm!” Lu Yu’s face turned red with embarrassment as she suddenly imagined Fu Li pressing her down on an operating table for a medical experiment. Ah, she had really thought too badly of him.
Lu Yu quickly looked around on the ground and fortunately, Fu Li’s glasses were of good quality and hadn’t broken when they were thrown.
She quickly picked them up, carefully blew on them, and wiped them with her sleeve. When she looked up, she met Fu Li’s slightly dazed eyes.
Her face turned red, and she explained softly, “My clothes are silk, so it shouldn’t hurt the lenses, right?”
“It won’t hurt.”
“Oh, okay.”
Lu Yu promptly handed the glasses back to Fu Li.
Once he put them on, Lu Yu felt Fu Li’s gaze become sharper, and she involuntarily became a bit nervous. Clearing her throat, she tried to change the subject.
“I always thought men who wear gold-rimmed glasses are all pretending to be refined beasts, but I didn’t expect you really need them for nearsightedness.”
Fu Li’s fingers, which were adjusting his glasses, stiffened, “?”
[Hahaha.]
[Although I had the same question, Lu Yu, is it really okay to ask that?]
[First time seeing Dr. Fu’s expression change, hahaha, so interesting. The refined beast doctor meets the confused and cute girl, I’ll ship this!]
