Chapter 49: Dark and Cramped Corners
The bullet comments were in a frenzy, and among the guests, there was an undercurrent of tension.
Bai Ruoruo cheerfully returned to her room with Gu Chuan.
Jiang Mi, however, didn’t say a word and simply stood up to leave.
Outside the villa, some lights were bright while others were dim and dark.
Suddenly, Jiang Mi found herself pressed against the wall by a man, his crisp cedar scent filling her nostrils.
“Not happy with dinner tonight?” Gu Chuan’s low, husky voice gently spoke.
Jiang Mi leaned against Gu Chuan’s neck, rubbing slightly, her voice somewhat muffled. “Happy, just not happy now.”
Even though she knew Gu Chuan had no romantic interest in Bai Ruoruo, the thought of Gu Chuan spending time alone with her in Room C made Jiang Mi feel blocked inside.
She finally understood why Gu Chuan was so fixated on that question during dinner. Despite knowing her dislike for Shen Mingxuan, hearing that they had once dated sparked his possessiveness and jealousy.
With that thought, Jiang Mi suddenly grabbed the collar of the man’s shirt.
Gu Chuan obediently leaned down slightly, wrapping his arms gently around the girl’s waist in a protective gesture.
Jiang Mi lifted herself slightly on tiptoe, her soft, red lips lightly biting the prominent Adam’s apple of the man.
Her lips were tender and sweet, with a faint fragrance.
Gu Chuan’s arms tightened around her waist, his voice low and rough. “Mimi.”
“Hmm.” The girl responded softly, pressing completely into his embrace. What started as a light kiss on the Adam’s apple became more daring…
“Mimi!” Gu Chuan’s deep, magnetic voice nearly lost control.
Jiang Mi’s voice was somewhat slurred, muffled, and sweet, tinged with a hint of sourness. “Gu Chuan, you’re mine. Don’t let other women get close. Otherwise…”
“I only love you.” Gu Chuan leaned down and kissed her heavily.
The rest of the sentence disappeared.
In the dark and cramped corner, the air was filled with a shallow ferment of intimacy…
Even the passing breeze seemed to turn scorching…
It was unclear how long it had been.
Gu Chuan’s fingertips, with a thin layer of callus, gently wiped the girl’s reddened lips. His voice was low and hoarse. “Be good.”
The girl, who had just been defiantly threatening the man, now resembled a lazy cat contentedly nestled in her owner’s arms.
Soft and cozy, nestled in his embrace, she lightly nuzzled and emitted a soft, contented purring from her throat.
Soft and sweet, it melted hearts.
Gu Chuan lowered his gaze, seeing the girl’s slightly exposed, cute nose tip. He placed a tender kiss there and smiled with a hint of indulgence.
Suddenly, footsteps and voices were heard from not far away, as if the production team was coming to find them.
It was Cheng Lin and Lu Yu.
Though they generally had a decent relationship, being in the same room and interacting like a couple felt awkward. So, they decided to sneak around and check out the other rooms.
Unexpectedly, they found Gu Chuan and Jiang Mi were not there, so they wandered around looking for them.
“Hey, Mimi, Brother Gu, where did you guys go just now?” Lu Yu asked, seeing Jiang Mi and Gu Chuan suddenly appear. The question slipped out before she could think.
Jiang Mi’s fair cheeks were flushed, and she awkwardly explained, “Gu Chuan and I didn’t do anything!”
Lu Yu: “???! Did you do something after all!”
[Haha, Lu Yu’s expression is my exact reaction!]
[This is such a case of covering up. Tsk tsk, the young couple is so sickeningly sweet.]
[Mimi, why are your lips so red and swollen? Care to explain? Did you get bitten by mosquitoes?]
[Wait, take a closer look at Gu Chuan’s collar. It seems a bit wrinkled, and I vaguely see a lip mark on his Adam’s apple?]
[Ah, now I’m more convinced that they really didn’t do anything!]
[Bai Ruoruo is truly heartless! She separates the sweet couple and forces them outside to look at the stars and the moon!!!]
Gu Chuan, looking at Jiang Mi’s blushing face with affection, smiled and said calmly, “Let’s go back.”
Jiang Mi responded and obediently followed Gu Chuan.
Gu Chuan slowed his pace to walk beside Jiang Mi.
Behind them, Lu Yu and Cheng Lin exchanged knowing glances and then smiled in agreement.
[Mimi’s guilty expression was so cute. I’ll write an 800-word fanfic tonight!]
[I’ve always thought Mimi was a glamorous leading lady, but in front of Gu Chuan, she turns into a sweet, soft little girl. The contrast is so adorable!]
[Gu Chuan really dotes on her. Did you notice how he slowed down to wait for her? Such natural, tender details really touch the heart.]
[Yes, yes, understanding and considerate towards a girl earns extra points! All men should learn from this.]
[Am I the only one who thinks Cheng Lin and Lu Yu are cute together?]
[Yes, only you. They’re just two childish fools!]
[Lu Yu matches better with Dr. Fu. After all, the little bunny is destined to be eaten by the big bad wolf!]
Back in the villa, Gu Chuan and Jiang Mi separated and returned to their respective rooms.
As soon as Gu Chuan entered, Bai Ruoruo immediately approached.
She seemed to act quickly or maybe had ulterior motives, already having showered and changed into a milk-white spaghetti strap dress.
The silk nightgown floated lightly, clinging softly to her skin, accentuating her tempting curves.
The front was exposed, showing a large area of fair skin.
The hem of the dress was also slightly revealing, showcasing her rounded shape.
With a glistening gaze and a sweet, soft voice, she said, “Brother Gu.”
But Gu Chuan didn’t even look at her, nodding coldly and walking directly to the bed in the room.
Ignored by the man, Bai Ruoruo’s eyes flashed with resentment.
Yet, she didn’t lose heart. Instead, she became even more determined and followed Gu Chuan. “Brother Gu, are you angry with me?”
Usually, anyone hearing Bai Ruoruo’s pitiful tone would soften and not hold grudges.
Even if Bai Ruoruo had done something wrong, men would overlook it when she appeared so pitiful and soft, often comforting her.
But Gu Chuan responded in a way Bai Ruoruo didn’t expect, “You have a good sense of self-awareness.”
Self-awareness???
Bai Ruoruo was instantly stunned, her face displaying disbelief.
