Chapter 61: Linlang Dungeon

When Wu Shaochen arrived at the dungeon, there were already quite a few people around, although they couldn’t enter yet. Many were simply there to observe out of curiosity.

Wu Shaochen walked toward the entrance to the secret realm. Since he was already here, he might as well check it out. Just as he was about to approach, a system prompt appeared.

“Ding, do you wish to challenge the Linlang Dungeon?”

“Yes.”

“Ding, the Linlang Dungeon requires a team to enter.”

A team? That’s easy. Wu Shaochen quickly created a team with just himself in it, not bothering to come up with a name. The system defaulted to naming it “Dust Sealed Team.”

He triggered the challenge again…

“Ding, do you wish to challenge the Linlang Dungeon?”

“Yes.”

“Ding, your team size is too small, and the dungeon difficulty is high. It is recommended to have a full 10-player team. Each person can challenge once per day.”

“I don’t accept your suggestion!” Wu Shaochen muttered. He then confirmed the challenge, and immediately, he disappeared from his spot.

“Whoa, did that person just enter?” someone gasped, seeing Wu Shaochen vanish.

“Damn, I saw it too! Isn’t this dungeon for level 20 players? How did he get in?” another person asked.

“Are you an idiot? There are players in Jinling City who meet the requirements!” someone replied.

“Damn, it’s Dust Sealed!”

Wu Shaochen felt a shift, and suddenly he was standing in a massive cavern. In front of him, three paths led to different areas. Wu Shaochen chose the left one and began walking.

Soon, five tiger-headed humanoid monsters appeared ahead, wielding large broadswords, blocking the way. Wu Shaochen cast his Insight skill.

[Tiger-headed Man] Elite Monster
Level: 20
Health: 100,000
Physical Attack: 680
Physical Defense: 420
Magical Defense: 350
Movement Speed: 86

Skill 1: Vertical Slash: The large sword is swung vertically at the target, dealing 175% physical damage. Cooldown: 20 seconds.
Skill 2: Horizontal Slash: The large sword is swung horizontally, dealing 160% physical damage to all targets within a 2-meter range. Cooldown: 30 seconds.

“Elite monster? First time seeing this. Could these only be in dungeons?” Wu Shaochen thought. The five tiger-headed monsters likely shared a single aggro. Even for him, this was a bit of a challenge. No wonder the dungeon recommended a team.

After calculating the potential damage, Wu Shaochen rushed at the five tiger-headed monsters. His normal attacks couldn’t break through his defenses, and even if they used skills, he could take two hits without any problem. This was the advantage of having high stamina, Wu Shaochen thought, otherwise, he wouldn’t even know how to start.

To end the battle quickly, Wu Shaochen charged in, tanking the damage from the five tigers while poisoning each of them with four layers of poison. After stepping back, the terrain didn’t allow him to kite the monsters, so he was soon forced back to the starting area. The other two paths were blocked, with a message saying that he needed to clear the monsters on the chosen path before continuing.

Wu Shaochen considered using stealth but was warned that if he did, the monsters would regain full health and clear all negative effects.

“Well, I guess I have to fight them head-on,” Wu Shaochen muttered, thinking they probably didn’t expect him to be afraid of a few tigers.

Soon, the five tiger-headed monsters caught up, but Wu Shaochen stopped running and stood his ground. The tiger-headed monsters’ basic attacks couldn’t deal any damage, and even though their skills could hurt him, the cooldowns made it manageable. Defeating the five monsters wasn’t too difficult.

Wu Shaochen’s poison damage was still at 540. After reaching the silver rank, he could have increased it further, but since the enemies were only five levels lower, he didn’t bother. Even at 540 damage, stacking four layers of poison was enough to kill the five tigers within a minute. Not to mention, Wu Shaochen was dealing additional damage with normal attacks.

Quickly, the five tiger-headed monsters collapsed, granting him 2,500 experience points, 500 per monster. Although this was higher than the experience from level 20 monsters outside, these monsters were considerably stronger, so the experience rate was just about average. However, Wu Shaochen was shocked by the drop rate, as the five tigers dropped a bronze-level equipment.

“No need to fight the boss to get bronze gear? Looks like after this dungeon is released, player strength will skyrocket,” Wu Shaochen thought.

The item dropped was a ring, and it was something he could use.

[Tiger Head Ring] Bronze Level:
Health +400, Physical Attack +160, Additional Stats: Constitution +23, Strength +25, Required for Physical Class Characters.

This was a straightforward item with added health and attack, simple but effective. Wu Shaochen eagerly equipped it and replaced his old [Silver Wolf King Ring], which had served him well.

After equipping the ring, his health increased by 515, bringing his total health to 8,842. His attack increased by 163, reaching a total of 1,518. Even without adding any extra strength, this attack was formidable. His attack speed was reduced by 5%, but the drop in damage wasn’t significant.

“Nice, the first batch of monsters gave me a new piece of gear,” Wu Shaochen murmured, then tried to list his old ring for sale, but was told that the auction house couldn’t be accessed in the dungeon. He’d have to wait until he left to list it.

Continuing forward, Wu Shaochen encountered another batch of tiger-headed monsters. This time there were seven. He quickly defeated them, but they dropped two additional pieces of gear. Wu Shaochen didn’t bother looking at them.

As he moved forward again, he encountered another group of tiger-headed monsters, this time eight. He easily dealt with them. Continuing, he faced a group of nine, and after using two medium red potions, he defeated them as well. This time, they dropped a black iron item.

Not long after, he came to the end of the tunnel, where a much larger tiger-headed monster awaited.

“Phew, finally done,” Wu Shaochen exhaled. He had been worried that the dungeon would continue endlessly. No wonder the dungeon recommended a team of 10 players—this was the maximum number allowed.

Looking at the huge tiger-headed monster, Wu Shaochen used his Insight skill.

[Tiger Head Leader] Dungeon Boss
Level: 20
Health: 450,000
Physical Attack: 1,150
Physical Defense: 700
Magical Defense: 650
Movement Speed: 135

Skill 1: Vertical Slash: A powerful vertical swing dealing 175% physical damage. Cooldown: 20 seconds.
Skill 2: Horizontal Slash: A horizontal swing dealing 160% physical damage in a 2-meter range. Cooldown: 30 seconds.
Skill 3: Frenzy: Roars to increase its attack by 50% for 30 seconds. Cooldown: 2 minutes.

“Although its attributes are slightly weaker than the Black Wind Stronghold boss, it only shows up as a dungeon boss. It doesn’t have a realm listed, so it might be a pseudo-silver boss. I bet it can drop silver-level gear,” Wu Shaochen thought.
