After giving Wu Ziyin instructions, Wu Shaochen turned to the group of people following him and said, “I’ll go in and take care of the corrupted Jungle Tiger King for you. This way, you can focus on sealing the portal. However, I don’t want anyone interfering with my battle with the Tiger King. You are responsible for stopping anyone who tries to disturb me. Can you do that?”
“Yes!” the soldiers responded in unison. Although some of the old sealers looked down on Wu Shaochen, the soldiers were different. Their duty was to obey orders. The person in front of them was sent by the city lord, and thus, his orders were the city lord’s orders, and they had to obey.
“Good,” Wu Shaochen nodded with a smile. He then led the way, accompanied by Silver Wolf, deeper into the Tiger Roar Forest. Although he was not strong enough to handle the Tiger King by himself, with Silver Wolf awakening, they could fight together. After seeing Silver Wolf’s attributes, he knew they could defeat the Tiger King.
“Did he just say he would kill the Tiger King?” one of the old men who had previously mocked Wu Shaochen spoke again.
“He’s just bragging. How could someone at his level possibly beat the Tiger King?” another old man said.
“Maybe he plans to ditch us and run away while we’re busy here,” the most vocal old man commented.
“You’re the one who’s going to run,” Wu Ziyin snapped. “My brother said he could kill it, so he can. Just wait here. If anyone tries to run, I’ll tell the city lord you deserted.”
“Ha, what does a little girl like you know? That’s a level 30 Golden Tiger King! How could someone at the 23rd level of Silver rank possibly fight it? I thought he’d be able to stop it for at least 10 minutes, but now he’s blabbering about killing it. It’s ridiculous,” the old man mocked.
“Humph! You can insult me, but don’t insult my brother,” Wu Ziyin retorted, crossing her arms.
“Enough, stop arguing. Just wait here,” the elder in charge said, trying to calm everyone down.
Wu Shaochen carefully moved forward with Silver Wolf. The Tiger King was a cunning foe—last time it ambushed him, so he had to be extra cautious. He still wasn’t strong enough to withstand its combo attacks.
Suddenly, Silver Wolf stopped and focused its eyes on some nearby grass. Wu Shaochen knew that the sneaky Tiger King must be hiding there, ready to ambush. Trusting Silver Wolf’s instincts, Wu Shaochen drew his dagger and prepared for battle.
Soon, a figure dashed out of the grass and lunged at Wu Shaochen. Prepared, he swiftly dodged to the side and counterattacked.
The Tiger King, confused, thought, “This human always runs when he sees me. Why is he daring to charge at me today?” But the Tiger King reacted quickly, lashing its tail at Wu Shaochen as he approached.
“Miss.”
Wu Shaochen had expected this move and activated his shoes’ evasion skill, narrowly avoiding the attack. While the evasion skill could only dodge the next attack, it was still better than nothing compared to the “Void” skill, which could avoid all attacks for a second and解除 control.
After evading two crucial control skills, Wu Shaochen closed in on the Tiger King. He landed a stun attack and followed up with a heavy blow. Afterward, he launched a series of attacks that applied four stacks of poison. He then turned and ran, while directing Silver Wolf to run in the opposite direction.
With 1,100 poison damage, four stacks of poison would drain over 260,000 health in a minute. With the Tiger King’s 200,000 health, it would be a matter of time.
Not far into their escape, a roar of the Tiger King echoed behind them. Wu Shaochen quickly activated “Void” to avoid the incoming attack. Thankfully, Silver Wolf had run in the other direction, so the roar only affected Wu Shaochen.
After the roar ended, the Tiger King was left with no way to deal with Wu Shaochen. It was too slow to catch up, and it could only circle around him. Within a minute, the Tiger King’s skills were off cooldown, but Wu Shaochen didn’t dare approach. He directed Silver Wolf to draw its attention and bait out the Tiger King’s skills. With over 100,000 health, Silver Wolf could take a few hits.
Sure enough, Silver Wolf rushed in and was struck by the Tiger King’s tail. It then followed up with a pounce and a bite, reducing Silver Wolf’s health by over 20,000 in one hit. If Wu Shaochen had been the one taking those hits, he would have been done for.
Wu Shaochen hurried over, stunning the Tiger King again and dealing another series of blows. He and Silver Wolf separated and ran again.
With Silver Wolf’s help, the battle with the Tiger King was becoming much easier. The Tiger King’s health was quickly dropping at a rate of 4,400 per second. Just as Wu Shaochen was about to finish it off, he received a private message from Wu Ziyin.
Feng Yiner: “Brother, some people are coming.”
Chen Feng: “How many of them?”
Feng Yiner: “About ten, but they seem to be sneaking around.”
Chen Feng: “Keep them busy. I’ll finish up here soon.”
Wu Shaochen didn’t take it seriously. Who would dare steal a BOSS from him? No one could take a BOSS from his hands.
The battle continued, and the Tiger King’s health was nearing its end when suddenly, a group of people barged in. There were more than seven of them. The leader saw Wu Shaochen alone fighting the BOSS and was momentarily stunned. When he saw the BOSS’s health nearly depleted, a look of excitement appeared on his face. “Get ten people to kill him, the rest of you, take the BOSS!”
Wu Shaochen paused for a moment. Were they really this bold? They were directly trying to steal his kill? Seeing the Tiger King’s remaining health at 20%, about 400,000 health, Wu Shaochen decided to exit the battle circle: “Come on then, let’s see how you fight!”
The leader, Blood Sea Wuy, the president of the Blood Sea Guild, sneered. “Hmph, at least you know your place.”
He then directed his team to attack the Tiger King. But as soon as they started, the battle turned into a one-sided massacre. The Tiger King, although still having its roar on cooldown, dealt over 4,200 damage with its regular attacks. With over 2,400 physical defense and 2,200 magic defense, it was almost impossible for current players to break through.
“Boss… something’s not right. This isn’t a level 21 BOSS!” one of the players finally realized.
“Shit, Boss, this is a level 30 Golden BOSS! We can’t fight this!”
Blood Sea Wuy quickly cast “Insight” and his face darkened. He had expected a Bronze or Silver BOSS, but upon closer inspection, it became clear this was not the case. The situation was far worse than he had anticipated.
Wu Shaochen, leaning casually against a tree with his arms crossed, smiled wickedly. “You think you can steal my BOSS? Let’s see if you can even survive!”
