Chapter 79: Golden Rank
Wu Shaochen quickly opened his skill bar and found that, after the golden Immortal Body, a new red skill appeared.
[Shadow Seven Kill]: After activation, transforms into a shadow body and moves around the target for one second, dealing 7 instances of damage to the target. Each subsequent hit increases in damage, starting with 130% physical damage. The second hit is 140%, the third 150%, and so on. During the skill’s release, it cannot be interrupted or attacked. It consumes 200 mana, and has a cooldown of 5 minutes.
“Damn, this skill is awesome. No wonder it was personally taught by the God of War,” Wu Shaochen said excitedly. The damage stacking is terrifying, and this skill is essentially invincible for one second. It’s perfect for obliterating enemies in an instant. This is very nice.
While Wu Shaochen was still marveling, he was suddenly teleported out.
“Ding! Congratulations, you’ve succeeded in the challenge. Your rank has risen to Golden Rank, gaining +40 to all attributes, +40 free attribute points. The God of War Medallion has upgraded from Silver Rank to Golden Rank. As the first player to reach Golden Rank, you have been rewarded with +40 free attribute points.”
In an instant, Wu Shaochen felt a tremendous surge in strength. He had 140 free attribute points available. He hadn’t used the 40 points rewarded from killing the Tiger King, nor the 20 points from reaching level 24. This was a huge boost with 80 points coming from the challenge alone.
Looking at his status, Wu Shaochen allocated 10 points to his Vitality to increase his defense to over 1,000, then spent the remaining 130 points on Agility. Now, he could stack five layers of passives, and he needed to reach one second of stacking to maximize the toxin damage advantage. After finishing his attribute distribution, he glanced at the Golden Rank God of War Medallion. Sure enough, it gave a massive boost: 40% to all attributes. Wu Shaochen equipped it and looked at his updated stats.

Looking at his stats, Wu Shaochen couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. Who in the entire Divine Order could compare to him? But then he suddenly thought of that woman. His body stiffened. “Forget it, I should stay low-key. The road ahead is long.”
After waiting in the God of War Hall for a while, Wu Ziyin finally emerged. As expected, she had succeeded in her challenge. With her current gear and innate talent, even that shadowy figure would have a hard time defeating her.
“Ziyin, what are your current magic attack and mana?” Wu Shaochen asked.
“Magic attack: 1650, mana: 4280,” Wu Ziyin replied.
Wu Shaochen was stunned. “Wow, that’s so high.” But thinking about how Wu Ziyin had three pieces of silver gear and the rest were bronze, it made sense. After a moment, he asked, “Check your talent to see if it has changed.” Since his talent could be enhanced by increasing his rank, others should be able to improve theirs too.
Wu Ziyin quickly checked and then exclaimed, “It changed! Now, every additional point of mana spent increases the skill effect by 0.06%.”
“Just as I thought,” Wu Shaochen muttered. This meant that everyone’s talent could be enhanced, and with such a large player base, there were definitely players with terrifying talents hidden, though they hadn’t shown their power yet. It seemed like he needed to stay low-key in the future.
Wu Shaochen calculated that Wu Ziyin hadn’t learned any other skills. As a Priest, she had two basic skills: Healing Spell (restores 120% of magic attack to a single target, cooldown 5 seconds) and Group Healing (restores 60% of magic attack to a group of up to five people). With her magic attack, a single Healing Spell could restore 1980 health, and if she used 4000 mana for a Healing Spell, it could heal nearly 1,700 health. This would provide a huge amount of sustainability in battle.
Unfortunately, her skills were lacking. Wu Shaochen thought for a moment and opened the auction house, searching for Priest skills. He found a book called Continuous Healing: “Applies a continuous healing buff to the target, restoring 60% of the caster’s magic attack every second for 5 seconds. Cooldown time: 20 seconds.” This skill had been sitting on the auction block because it was priced at a staggering 200 gold coins, which only a few players could afford.
Wu Shaochen decided to buy it. Boosting Wu Ziyin’s power would give him more survival guarantees. 200 gold coins was a lot now, but in the future, skill books would only become more expensive.
He handed the skill book to Wu Ziyin and said, “Learn this skill, and I’ll help you level up.” Tomorrow was Monday, and Wu Ziyin would have classes, so it would be a good opportunity to level up today while she had time. After all, she was his little sister, and her level couldn’t fall too far behind.
“Okay, thanks, brother,” Wu Ziyin happily accepted the book and clicked to learn it.
Wu Shaochen opened the map, searched for a while, but couldn’t find a good leveling spot. The highlighted areas on the map had monsters below level 20. The only place he had been to was unsuitable for Wu Ziyin, so he decided to head in a different direction. Taking Silver Wolf out of his bag, he forced Wu Ziyin, who was reluctant, onto its back. Together, they rode quickly toward the eastern forest.
The outskirts of the forest were filled with monsters between level 15-25, and many players had already grouped up for leveling. With their upgraded equipment, players’ power had greatly increased. Most players were already wearing full Black Iron gear, and even the slightly stronger ones had a few pieces of Bronze equipment. Soloing normal monsters of this level was no problem at all. Wu Shaochen and Wu Ziyin tried to avoid the crowds and ventured deeper into the forest. Even though he had changed his mask and outfits, making him unrecognizable, Wu Ziyin riding the Silver Wolf was still too eye-catching.Chapter 79: Golden Rank
