Chapter 81: Silver Wolf’s Three Skills
In Jinling City…
In a private room of a tavern, senior executives from the Su Group were present. With the title of “Su Muxue, First Mage,” the Su Group had grown rapidly, establishing a solid foothold in Jinling City and becoming one of the four major guilds after the powerful “Aotian Clan” and the “Three Great Guilds.”
At this moment, all the executives were quietly waiting because today the chairman of the Su Group, Su Xufeng, had left the starting village and would soon arrive to deploy tasks.
Not long after, the door to the private room opened, and a stern-looking middle-aged man entered. Everyone quickly stood up and greeted him, saying, “Chairman Su!”
“Please, sit down. This is just a game, no need for such formality. I’m here today to check on how the Su Group is progressing in the game,” Su Xufeng said.
He then turned to the elder beside him and said, “Liu Shu, give us an update on the situation in Jinling City.”
“Understood.” Liu Shu then provided a complete briefing, including the current forces in Jinling City.
After hearing Liu Shu’s report, Su Xufeng fell into deep thought. After a while, he said, “So, there are still a few guilds standing in our way?”
“Yes,” Liu Shu replied.
Su Xufeng frowned. Though he didn’t play the game, his business acumen was sharp. After hearing Liu Shu’s description, he immediately recognized the game’s potential, so he decided to invest in it. However, to succeed, they needed to be the strongest. After thinking for a moment, he said, “We need to increase our investment in the game. Let’s offer high salaries to recruit a large number of people. According to what you said, there should be at least 30 million players in Jinling City, and the largest guilds only have a few thousand members. We’ve only just started, so we need to increase the player count. Most of the time, numbers are the key.”
“Also, we need some skilled players. Right now, our guild doesn’t seem to have any really strong experts,” Su Xufeng added. He then turned to Su Muxue and said, “Xue’er, didn’t you add that ‘Chen Feng’ as a friend? Can you get him to join our guild?”
Su Muxue shook her head and replied, “I can’t. He seems unwilling to join any guild.”
Su Xufeng thought for a moment before asking, “Is there any way we can arrange a meeting with him?”
“I’ll try. But, Dad, he’s not someone you can easily persuade. Be careful when talking to him. Even if he doesn’t join, it’s fine. Our relationship with him is currently more of a cooperative one, so we must avoid making it awkward. It won’t be beneficial for us,” Su Muxue said.
“Understood. I’ll handle it carefully,” Su Xufeng nodded indifferently.
Seeing her father’s attitude, Su Muxue couldn’t help but feel like something might go wrong.
She shook her head, then sent a message to Chen Feng.
Meanwhile, Wu Shaochen was busy training in the Blood Prison Mad Lions, dodging attacks now and then. After an afternoon of practice, he could avoid more than half the attacks in a one-on-one fight.
“If my speed could double, I could clear these monsters without taking any damage,” Wu Shaochen thought. But such monsters were rare.
“Forget it, as long as I understand their patterns, I can deal with them. There’s no need to dodge for every normal monster. It’ll just slow me down, especially with group farming where there’s not enough space to dodge,” Wu Shaochen murmured.
At that moment, a private message popped up.
Xue’er: “Are you busy?”
Wu Shaochen: “I’m leveling up. What’s up?”
Xue’er: “When are you coming back to Jinling City? I need to talk to you.”
Wu Shaochen: “I’ll get back to you once I return to the city.”
The two continued grinding until 11:30 PM. Except for a break to eat, they didn’t stop. The Blood Prison Mad Lions had a large area to farm, with fewer monsters than the Skeletons in the Abandoned Mine, but they respawned quickly, making it a high-speed grind.
After nearly 9 hours of nonstop farming, they had killed 1,880 Blood Prison Mad Lions. Although the spawn rate wasn’t as dense as the Skeletons, it was still very efficient for farming.
To Wu Shaochen’s surprise, level 30 monsters could now drop bronze equipment. After killing over 1,800 Mad Lions, he got 6 bronze items. The drop rate wasn’t high, but it was good enough. Even though bronze items were depreciating quickly, they still sold for several thousand, especially those with good stats.
Out of the 6 bronze items, two were good enough for Wu Ziyin to equip, while the other four were listed for sale at 100,000 per item. Surprisingly, the black iron equipment still sold quickly for 1,000 each, but no one bought the bronze items at first. Wu Shaochen had to relist them for 80,000, and they were eventually sold.
Killing the Blood Prison Mad Lions yielded 800 experience points per monster, with a 60% experience boost for killing monsters 6 levels lower. The monsters provided about 1,280 experience points each. However, since the experience was shared with Wu Ziyin and the Silver Wolf, Wu Shaochen only got 384 experience per kill. After all the kills, he earned 721,920 experience points, reaching level 25 with 44,162/800,000 experience.
Wu Ziyin had leveled up incredibly fast, going from level 13 to level 21 in one session. This speed was unprecedented.
The Silver Wolf also reached level 20, its stats greatly improved, and it learned a new skill that surprised Wu Shaochen.
Silver Wolf
Skills:
Wu Shaochen didn’t care much about the damage of the skills, but the group-wide silence was a skill he desperately needed. With this, fighting mages would become much easier.
Even though Wu Shaochen only leveled up by one level, his overall strength had increased dramatically. His talent reached its maximum limit of 2,000 points, and the Golden Realm had increased his talent by 30 times, giving him an 80x talent boost now. With 5 talent layers, he could deal 600,000 points of damage per minute. His Immortal Body added 1,880 points to his health, pushing his total health to 21,745, making him a tank.
Since Wu Ziyin had to go offline for class, Wu Shaochen let her log off at 11:30 PM. He was feeling tired as well and decided to take a break. After midnight, he planned to do a dungeon run and then log off for the night.
He used a city return scroll to head back to Jinling City, preparing to rest at home. But then he remembered that Su Muxue had asked him to contact her once he returned. She seemed to need something, so he sent her a message: “I’m back in the city.”
