Chapter 87: Four Golden BOSSes
Wu Shaochen stared at the coffin placed in the middle of the room. If he were to leave, the only way out seemed to be through the coffin, but for some reason, when he looked at it, he had an unsettling feeling, as if something terrifying was hidden inside.
“Forget it, I’ll check the situation with those four statues by the coffin first,” Wu Shaochen muttered to himself. He noticed that there were four stone statues beside the coffin, different from the previous ones, standing taller and more imposing, their spears longer.
“Whatever happens, happens.” Wu Shaochen gave himself a mental boost and carefully approached the statues. As soon as he got within a meter of them, the stone on the statues started to rapidly decay, just like before, prompting him to quickly back away.
A few seconds later, the statues came to life. Wu Shaochen quickly used his Insight skill.

“Shit, four Golden BOSSes!!” Wu Shaochen was stunned. “What the hell, this is going to get people killed.”
Seeing the four guardians slowly approach, Wu Shaochen furrowed his brows. These creatures had ridiculously high attack power. If he got hit by all four of their skills in one go, he’d be done for, even with all his life-saving skills. The cooldown time was just too long. Unlike dealing with the coffin guards where he could just strike twice and run, these four Golden BOSSes had 1,800,000 health. Even if he stacked 5 layers of poison, they wouldn’t die from it, and without finishing them off, their health would just regenerate.
Just as Wu Shaochen was considering his options, four lightning-infused spears flew towards him at lightning speed, seemingly trying to instantly kill him.
“Damn, they’re using their ultimate move right away?!” Wu Shaochen immediately blinked and dodged the attack, flashing in front of a few guards.
“Since I’m fighting, let’s do it!” With his Void and Shadow Seven Slashes, Wu Shaochen wasn’t afraid of fighting. He just needed to deal with the aftermath. Activating his speed and attack boost, he rushed to the nearest guardian, landing four slashes. He expected them to counterattack immediately, but to his surprise, they didn’t. Instead, they went to retrieve their spears.
“Interesting?” Wu Shaochen’s eyes lit up. He had originally thought that the spears would automatically return to them after being thrown, but it seemed they needed to pick them up first. This made things more manageable.
Wu Shaochen immediately used his Force Field to slow them down by 20%, making it harder for them to retrieve their weapons. He kept one guardian occupied while summoning Silver Thunder Wolf to distract another.
The guardian that was stalled gave up on retrieving its weapon and started using its fists to attack Wu Shaochen.

Seeing this damage, Wu Shaochen grinned. Without a weapon, the guardian’s attack power was halved. Normally, with 4,800 physical attack and a 20% reduction from the Force Field, the guardian’s attack would still deal around 1,700-1,800 damage, but now it was reduced to just over 900. It also seemed that without its spear, the guardian couldn’t use its skills, which was a nice advantage.
To prevent it from going to pick up its weapon, Wu Shaochen continued to trade blows with it. Unfortunately, its defense was too high, and his regular attacks only dealt a few dozen points of damage. He couldn’t even be bothered to continue attacking with his dagger. At that point, Silver Thunder Wolf used its Inspire skill, boosting Wu Shaochen’s defense and damage.
Meanwhile, the other two guardians had retrieved their weapons and were heading toward Wu Shaochen.
“Silver Wolf, hold them off,” Wu Shaochen ordered. He needed to take down one quickly, or the situation would get worse when they regrouped. Fortunately, they had already used their Thunder Strike, and the cooldown was five minutes. Silver Thunder Wolf’s speed was enough to keep them distracted, as long as it didn’t steal the aggro.
Silver Thunder Wolf obeyed, howling and attracting the attention of the other two guardians, pulling them further away and preventing them from interfering with Wu Shaochen.
“Silver Wolf is getting smarter.” Wu Shaochen smiled with satisfaction, then focused on dealing with the guardian without its weapon. Once the Force Field and Inspire effects wore off, Wu Shaochen didn’t bother with regular attacks anymore. He dodged its punches while keeping it from retrieving its weapon.
In the end, the guardian fell after less than three minutes, and Wu Shaochen gained 120,000 experience while Silver Thunder Wolf earned 80,000. The guardian dropped a variety of loot.
“This feels good.” Wu Shaochen happily gathered up the items: 6 gold, 45 silver, 2 pieces of golden gear, 3 pieces of silver gear, 5 pieces of bronze gear, one scroll, one skill book, and a strange key. The best part was one of the golden pieces of gear was something he could use.
[Guardian Ring] Golden Grade: +900 Health, +470 Physical Attack, +10% Cooldown Reduction, Attributes: +35 Strength, +35 Constitution, +35 Bone. Skill: Cooldown Reduction: Reduces the cooldown time of a specified skill by 5 minutes, with a cooldown time of 5 minutes. Requirement: Physical-based classes.
Wu Shaochen quickly equipped it. The skill came at the perfect time. He had been struggling with long skill cooldowns, but now he could essentially add an extra Void or Shadow Seven Slashes. This would make dealing with the remaining guardians much easier.
The skill book was Triple Stab, which had strong damage, but it required a spear to use. Since only warriors and shield soldiers could wield a spear, Wu Shaochen could only lament.
The scroll caught his eye.
[Skill Extraction Scroll]: Can extract skills from equipped gear. Extracted skills have no learning requirement and cannot be leveled up.
Wu Shaochen quickly stashed it away. This was a valuable item. He could extract useful skills from his equipment. For example, his necklace had Blink, and the ring reduced cooldowns. If he changed his equipment, he would lose those skills, but if he extracted them, they would be permanently usable.
The last item, a mysterious key, was something Wu Shaochen didn’t care about and tossed into his bag.
He then turned his attention to the remaining three guardians, still chasing Silver Thunder Wolf. Wu Shaochen activated his Stealth and moved silently behind one of them. With a quick strike, he knocked it unconscious, allowing Silver Thunder Wolf to handle the other two while he dealt with this one. Although it had a weapon, taking it on alone wasn’t too much of a challenge since it didn’t have any crowd control skills.
