Chapter 95: What the Heck! Sealed Away

Seeing Wu Shaochen standing there lazily, with that annoying look on his face, the Hell Messenger sneaked behind him and delivered a sudden strike that knocked Wu Shaochen out cold, taking away over two thousand eight hundred of his health points.

“40% damage reduction, over 20,000 health?!!!” The Hell Messenger gasped. As a top-tier expert, he could usually gauge an opponent’s stats with a single strike, but these numbers shocked him. Was this even a stat a typical assassin should have?

Although surprised, the Hell Messenger, being a seasoned pro, didn’t give up. Seizing the moment of Wu Shaochen’s stun, he followed up with a double strike aimed at him. But just then, Wu Shaochen’s body turned into nothingness and avoided the attack.

“Can he dispel control and dodge damage?!??” The Hell Messenger was visibly envious. This was an assassin’s ultimate skill.

Wu Shaochen used his “Void” ability to shake off the stun and avoid the Hell Messenger’s second strike. Immediately, he countered with a backstab, but the Hell Messenger seemed to have anticipated it. His body side-stepped, evading the backstab.

“Did he predict that?” Wu Shaochen thought, his opponent’s speed wasn’t fast enough to dodge his attack, so it must have been a prediction. Only top-tier players could pull off such feats.

“Damn it, I’ll make sure you can’t predict this!” Wu Shaochen’s anger flared as he activated his “Shadow Seven Kill.” Shadows instantly enveloped the Hell Messenger, and this skill was impossible to dodge. Seven attacks in one second, and the Hell Messenger fell on the third hit. The remaining four attacks struck nothing but air.

“Hah, is that it? All flash and no substance! When it comes to true power, no amount of fancy tricks can help,” Wu Shaochen mocked, though a sense of vigilance arose within him. He realized he should practice his own technique.

Ding!
“Killed player Hell Messenger. Gained 126 points.”

Wu Shaochen’s eyes lit up. That was a lot of points! He only had 186 points himself, but after checking the leaderboard, the second-place player, God King, had 172 points. Hell Messenger, previously ranked 7th, had fallen out of the top rankings. Wu Shaochen’s points, now including the 126 from Hell Messenger, shot up to 312.

“Looks like killing players is much faster than killing monsters,” Wu Shaochen thought to himself, almost losing the urge to fight monsters anymore.

“Bro, you okay?” At this moment, Wu Ziyin walked over. After the ambush earlier, Wu Shaochen had messaged her to stay back so he wouldn’t be distracted. She and her silver-tailed wolf had kept their distance until the battle had ended.

“I’m fine, let’s keep moving,” Wu Shaochen responded.

Meanwhile, at the spawn point for players, a few experts from the Hell Gates faction stared at the fallen Hell Messenger, stunned.

“Boss, you went down too?” Hell Vanguard asked, incredulous.

“Dammit, this guy’s stats and skills are just insane,” Hell Messenger said, gloomily. Even he, with his 100% defense-ignoring abilities, found himself powerless against such a build. With 40% damage reduction and over 20,000 health, it was near impossible to break through, especially with the unpredictable skills. That last skill of his—unless they had invincibility abilities, they couldn’t withstand it. This made Hell Messenger realize that maybe it was time to learn some survival skills, instead of just focusing on offense.

While others continued heading toward the center, most teams were unable to advance. With the increasing number of Bloodthirsty Beasts, many teams had to halt their progress.

Wu Shaochen and Wu Ziyin continued forward. Along the way, they encountered two Black Iron-level Bloodthirsty Beasts and one Bronze-level Bloodthirsty Beast. The Black Iron-level beasts gave them 10 points each, while the Bronze-level beast gave them 100 points.

Along the way, they met several other players. Wu Shaochen adhered to his principle of not attacking unless provoked. However, that didn’t stop others from attacking them. After all, most teams at this stage were five-man groups, and seeing only two players in the Shaochen siblings’ group, they couldn’t resist attacking. As expected, besides sending points to Wu Shaochen, they couldn’t make much of an impact.

At this point, Wu Shaochen’s points had reached 864, with God King, in second place, not far behind at 831. The gap was closing fast, and Wu Shaochen decided to put his plan to let Wu Ziyin gather points on hold.

Just then, Wu Shaochen heard sounds of battle up ahead. After considering, he decided to investigate.

In the depths of the forest, a five-man team was fighting against a massive Bloodthirsty Beast. The beast was a Silver-level creature, worth 1,000 points. Defeating this beast would instantly propel their team to the top of the leaderboard, surpassing the current number one, “Sealed Away.”

“Nan Feng, go ahead and supplement the control. Lin, watch Xiao Bei’s health. Hao Ran, speed up the damage output. If you run out of mana, drink potions. We need to finish this fast. If we take too long, others might show up,” Jun Lin directed the battle calmly.

This team, known as Jun Lin’s five, were all experts, and facing a level 30 Silver-tier BOSS, they could handle it at least with difficulty.

“Jun Lin, we’re barely managing against this BOSS. If someone else shows up, we could easily be wiped out,” Hao Ran said, worried.

“Yeah, but we’ve already encountered it. Might as well try. If someone else shows up, we’ll abandon the BOSS and retreat!” Jun Lin said, keeping his cool.

“Okay,” Hao Ran agreed, increasing his output.

However, just as they were about to defeat the BOSS, a group of 50 players suddenly arrived at the scene. Without hesitation, they charged straight at Jun Lin’s five.

“Abandon the BOSS, retreat!” Jun Lin gave the order immediately, and the five of them quickly regrouped, retreating without hesitation, their coordination flawless.

Ten of the fifty players immediately took over the BOSS, while the remaining forty charged at Jun Lin’s group.

“Status full, fight!” Jun Lin ordered, and the battle quickly heated up. Despite the numbers disadvantage, Jun Lin’s team was well-coordinated, with top-tier operations and solid equipment, so they didn’t find themselves at a disadvantage. In fact, three of the opponents were quickly taken out by Jun Lin and Hao Ran’s explosive damage.

Just as the battle was escalating, two figures suddenly appeared on the battlefield—an assassin and a priest, followed by a wolf. Their arrival caused a brief pause in the battle, but it quickly resumed. At this point, a young man walked up to the duo and said, “Sovereign of All, clear the field. If you don’t want to die, get lost!”

Wu Shaochen rubbed his nose. Another Sovereign of All? He didn’t expect to run into them here. Looks like not all enemies are strangers after all. He turned to the young man and said, “Seems like you Sovereign of All guys never learn, huh? Just a few days ago, you were quiet, but now you’re back at it again.”

“Hmph! Insult me, and you’re dead. Send a team and kill these two first!” the young man commanded arrogantly.

“Boss, I think this person might be Sealed Away,” one of the Sovereign of All players said hesitantly. He had encountered Sealed Away before and recognized the voice, as well as the unique mask and wolf behind him.

“Who cares if it’s Sealed Away… What the heck?! Sealed Away?!!!” The young man finally reacted, quickly retreating. His shout caused the battle to momentarily stop.
