Chapter 18: Matters of Space

“Don’t be nervous, I’ll take you somewhere. Close your eyes first.”

Mi Xia took Mo Haoyue’s hand and led him into the space.

“Okay, you can open your eyes now.” Mi Xia stuck out her tongue.

The scene before him left Mo Haoyue somewhat incredulous. It was beyond his comprehension. How could he have appeared in this place after only a short time with his eyes closed?

“Where is this place?”

“This is a space, my space. Besides me, no one can enter. Only if I bring you, can you come in.”

Mo Haoyue looked at everything in front of him, still a little bewildered.

“Wife, are you a fairy?” Mo Haoyue blurted out.

Mi Xia looked at him playfully and said, “Yes, because you accumulated immeasurable merit in your previous life, so my fairy superior sent me down to be your wife.”

After saying this, she couldn’t help but chuckle, “Okay, I’m not teasing you anymore. I’m from 2023, 48 years later. One morning, I woke up and became your wife. I don’t know why.”

“Will you mysteriously go back?” Mo Haoyue nervously hugged Mi Xia, as if he wanted to meld her into his body.

“No, don’t worry.” Mi Xia patted Mo Haoyue’s head and said gently. Actually, she herself wasn’t sure if she would suddenly return to her original world.

“Okay, I’ll take you for a walk. The things I resell all come from here. This space is my confidence, so I’m not afraid of encountering trouble; if I encounter danger, I’ll just come in here.”

As they walked, Mi Xia introduced, “This large area, as long as there are seeds, anything can be grown, and the life cycle in the space is many times faster than outside.”

“The apples you ate before were from the apple trees here, and this is a peach tree.”

With that, Mi Xia had a peach in her hand.

“Eat it, it’s very sweet. Everything in the space is tastier than outside.”

Mo Haoyue calmed his mind, took the peach, and took a bite. “Hmm, it’s really delicious.”

Mi Xia also took one and ate it. The two of them walked for over an hour before they finished touring the space.

It included mountains, and the mountains didn’t have large animals, just some wild game, pheasants, wild goats, and the like.

Mi Xia then took Mo Haoyue straight to the bathroom in the house to let him take a spiritual spring bath, telling him what would happen after taking the bath, then she closed the bathroom door.

Mo Haoyue watched the dark things emanating from his body. Fortunately, he was mentally prepared. Taking a deep breath, he walked out of the bathroom.

His mind was still a little muddled, but he trusted his wife. She had told him such an important secret, she certainly wouldn’t harm him.

Mo Haoyue looked at the woman in front of him: her eyes were alluring, her hair slightly disheveled, her posture unguarded yet extremely attractive, her waist slender and delicate, her chest full, her legs long and white, her figure well-proportioned and beautiful.

He suddenly felt unworthy of her, especially since his wife had a treasure space. Mo Haoyue frowned, his voice tinged with grievance: “Wife, you won’t divorce me, will you?”

Mi Xia took Mo Haoyue’s hand, looking at him resolutely: “If you don’t leave, I won’t abandon you.”

“Okay, let’s go out quickly, otherwise, Sister-in-law will think we’re doing something in the room.” Mi Xia’s face flushed slightly.

“By the way, I bought a job for Big Brother, and also about the house. We’ll go to the county town later and say that we both decided to buy it together. Do you think that’s okay?”

Mo Haoyue kissed Mi Xia’s lips and acted spoiled: “Okay, wife, will you support me in the future?”

Mi Xia’s face instantly turned red. “What are you doing? It’s broad daylight, what if they see us?”

“We’re husband and wife, what’s there to be afraid of? You haven’t agreed to me yet. Will you support me in the future?”

“Okay, okay, you’re so handsome, dashing, and charming, I’ll support you, who else would I support?”

After Mi Xia finished speaking, the two burst into laughter.

Outside, Zhang Hongxia had been waiting at the door for a long time after Mi Xia and Mo Haoyue entered the room, worried that they were arguing about Mi Qiu’s job. She was waiting so she could persuade them when they came out, or sell the job if necessary. Unexpectedly, the two were laughing so happily.

“Then let’s go out, and we’ll tell them we bought a house when we get back.”

Leaving the room, Mi Xia looked at Zhang Hongxia awkwardly, after all, the two of them had been in the room for so long.

“Sister-in-law, Mo Haoyue and I plan to take Xia Xia to the county town.”

“Okay, okay, the whole family hasn’t gone out to play together yet. I’ll save you some food, it’s fine if you don’t come back to eat.” Zhang Hongxia’s smile reached her ears.

The family rode their bicycles to the county town. Mi Xia directed Mo Haoyue, and when they arrived at the small western-style house, Mo Haoyue was still very excited.

They had their own home, which was different from living with his mother or his elder brother’s family. This was their own house.

Mi Xia opened the door, Mo Haoyue hesitated at the door with his daughter in his arms before entering.

As soon as they entered, they saw a large courtyard. Mo Zhixia swayed her body wanting to get down, running to the swing, the little girl was jumping with joy.

“Papa, Mama, Xia Xia wants to play this.” The little girl called out in a milky voice.

“Okay, let Papa hold you up.” He said, looking at Mo Haoyue.

Then he said, “You play with her for a while, I’ll put the daily necessities in the house.”

“Okay, you go ahead, I’ll play with our daughter.”

She went to the kitchen first, putting rice, flour, oil, salt, pots, bowls, and everything needed in the kitchen. The county town now used gas, which was much more convenient.

There were ready-made tables, chairs, and beds in the house, all left by the previous owner. Mi Xia saw that they were eight out of ten new, so she didn’t buy new ones.

The original owner was quite fond of this house, the furniture was eight out of ten new. She took some cotton from the space, and after her elder brother’s family moved in, she would ask her sister-in-law to make new cotton clothes and quilts; winter wasn’t far off.

After doing this, Mi Xia checked each room again, sprayed some air freshener, and confirmed that there was no problem before going to the yard to find Mo Haoyue and their daughter.

This was the first house she had in this world. Although she would have many more houses in the future, the feeling was different. She had to make more money.

She would go to Kyoto to buy a courtyard house, so she could have money lying down in the future. Thinking about it, Mi Xia laughed out loud.

Xia Xia saw her mother laughing, and she laughed happily too.

“What are you laughing at, so happy?” Mo Haoyue looked at Mi Xia dotingly.

“We have a house, of course, we’re happy.” Mi Xia playfully winked at Mo Haoyue.

Mo Haoyue held Xia Xia and looked at each room. Xia Xia was still young and couldn’t sleep alone, so Mi Xia chose the master bedroom downstairs. The family of three wouldn’t be crowded.

After checking that the doors and windows were closed and locked, the family of three went to the supply and marketing cooperative. First, they bought some food for their daughter, and then the family went to the place selling clothes.

“Wife, buy a new dress.”

The fabrics of this era were only a few kinds. The ones hanging here were corduroy, gabardine, and woolen cloth, and Mi Xia didn’t really appreciate them.

However, Mo Haoyue insisted, so Mi Xia bought two gabardine skirts, one for herself and one for Zhang Hongxia.
