“The Top Student Prodigy Travels to the 1970s with a Magical Space” Chapter 43

Chapter 43: Encountering a Boy Who Looks Exactly Like Mo Haoyue

After witnessing the bustling scene outside the gate, the campus was even more crowded with freshmen from all over the country, as well as teachers welcoming them. Mo Haoyue, accompanied by Mi Xia, easily arrived at the Law Department’s registration point.

“Wow, look, look, isn’t that long-haired girl a fairy? How can she be so beautiful? In ancient times, she would be a notorious beauty who brings disaster,” an older student with a crew cut said.

A young, handsome boy suddenly appeared in front of Mi Xia. “Miss, are you from the Law Department? I can take you to register and deliver your luggage to your assigned dormitory.”

“Wow, Li Jiaming, that dog, is so quick to act.”

Mi Xia heard a male student at the registration office curse. The boy blushed when he saw the goddess looking at him.

Indeed, Mi Xia had already become the goddess in his heart, a definite school beauty of this year’s university freshmen.

“Thank you, classmate, she’s my wife, I can handle it,” Mo Haoyue said with a smile to Li Jiaming.

Li Jiaming stood there awkwardly, speechless as Mi Xia and Mo Haoyue walked past him.

There were two teachers at the reception desk, sitting on stools, cultured and refined, their appearance clearly indicating they were teachers. Behind them were several students, all dressed neatly and cleanly.

Among them was a boy who looked very pleasant, with fair skin. He wore somewhat old clothes, but gave the impression that he would definitely be extraordinary in the future. Even if his family was poor now, he would certainly achieve great things later.

As Mi Xia looked at the boy, he was also looking at her. Mi Xia’s appearance and temperament truly surprised him. This girl was the most outstanding girl he had ever met in his age group.

Mi Xia said to the teacher at the reception desk, “Hello, teacher, I’m a freshman in the Law Department.”

The teacher looked at Mi Xia with a stern face, then at Mo Haoyue. After receiving Mi Xia’s admission notice, he learned that she was the top science student in S Province this year. The speed of his change in expression was so fast that even Mi Xia felt it was faster than a woman changing her mind.

His originally serious face instantly transformed into a kind and amiable smile, typical of a middle-aged man.

The teacher said to the boy walking towards them, “Liu Yu, you take her to the dormitory.”

The boy walked over directly: “Hello, my name is Liu Yu.”

Mi Xia was suddenly stunned when she saw this boy. Looking at him and then at Mo Haoyue, they were too similar. Mo Haoyue looked more mature, while Liu Yu was still quite young, but one could still see that Liu Yu came from a good family.

Mo Haoyue was also taken aback, looking at Liu Yu as if he was looking in a mirror.

Liu Yu then saw Mo Haoyue behind Mi Xia: “Hello, who are you?”

“My name is Mo Haoyue. This is my wife, Mi Xia.”

Mi Xia jokingly said, “You two look so alike, if others see you, they’ll think you’re twins.”

Liu Yu looked at Mo Haoyue and said with a smile, “Brother, let’s go, I’ll take you to the dormitory.”

Mo Haoyue didn’t know why, but he felt a sense of familiarity with Liu Yu. “Brother, thank you for your trouble.”

The freshman registration wasn’t difficult. Liu Yu took Mi Xia and Mo Haoyue, and it was done in half an hour. He took them to the freshman dormitory building.

“I’m a sophomore in the Law Department. Sister-in-law, if you have any questions, you can ask me,” Liu Yu joked.

“Okay, senior, thank you, you’ve been a great help today, I’ll treat you to a meal another time.”

“By the way, if you don’t live on campus, you don’t need to put your luggage in the dormitory. Tomorrow morning at eight o’clock, go to the classroom for military training. Bring your things directly to the classroom tomorrow. If you live on campus, it’s fine.” After saying this, he greeted Mo Haoyue and left.

Mi Xia’s dormitory was Building 8, Room 208. Mo Haoyue carried her luggage in one hand and held Mi Xia’s hand in the other as they went upstairs and entered the dormitory.

The dormitory had four beds, all bunk beds, meaning eight people would live there. Two girls were already there. One girl’s parents were making her bed; she had fair skin and fashionable clothes, clearly a pampered young lady from a well-off family.

The other girl was wearing patched-up clothes and was making her own bed. She wore a rural-style cotton-padded jacket, her complexion sallow, clearly suffering from malnutrition.

Mi Xia took the top bunk of the second bed from the inside. She didn’t like others sitting on her bed, and the top bunk avoided this.

As Mo Haoyue was tidying the bed, another group of people came in. A man carried luggage in one hand and held a girl’s hand in the other; a woman followed behind, carrying a small bag.

“Hello everyone, I’m Shen Niannian’s husband. We’re from JX Province, and we hope you’ll take good care of her.”

This man had a kind face, clearly a man who loved his wife. He carried such heavy luggage and still held his child’s hand, while the woman only carried a small bag.

Seeing Shen Niannian, Mi Xia thought about how many educated youths had left their husbands or wives in the countryside when they went to college.

As soon as Shen Niannian came in, she kept staring at Mo Haoyue. Mi Xia had a bad impression of her.

“Wife, come and help me,” he shouted, thinking, “Does this woman have a problem? She keeps staring at me.”

“I’m Su Yulan, a native of Beijing,” the well-off young lady said.

“Hello everyone, my name is Li Xiaohong, from AH Province,” the patched-up girl introduced herself generously.

“My name is Mi Xia, from S Province,” Mi Xia also introduced herself.

Four more people arrived one after another. The first was a girl wearing new but rustic clothes, named Li Yan, from SD Province.

The sixth person was a woman, leading a boy and a girl, one in each hand, followed by her husband, who seemed to have a good relationship with his family. Her name was Su Ranran; she married her current husband when she went to the countryside, and she was from XZ, S Province.

She was practically a fellow villager of Mi Xia. The sixth person to arrive was a girl, followed by her simple and honest parents. They immediately gave everyone local specialties. Although they didn’t have much money, they were clearly loving parents. The girl’s name was Su Xiaohua.

The seventh girl was named Zhang Yanyan. She said her fare was raised by her father selling a cow, and everyone felt sorry for her. She was from XJ Province.

The last to arrive was Zhong Jiajia. Her father worked in the S Province government, and she was fashionably dressed. Her mother had sent her here.

The bed opposite Mi Xia was the only one left, but Zhong Jiajia didn’t want it, so she asked if anyone would switch bunks with her for ten yuan.

Shen Niannian eagerly said, “We’re all classmates, we should help each other. I’ll switch with you, no need for money.”

Zhong Jiajia glanced at her and threw the ten yuan on the last bed. She saw through this woman at a glance. She had seen people like this all her life.

Shen Niannian awkwardly moved all her things until she had moved everything before Zhong Jiajia and her mother went over.

Mi Xia and Mo Haoyue ignored them, covering their bed with a cloth so their wife would have a little space and she could easily enter her space. After tidying up, Mo Haoyue took the schoolbag home; his wife certainly wouldn’t be staying in the dorm tonight.

Mi Xia and Su Ranran’s family of four went to the classroom to get textbooks while chatting. Su Ranran went to the countryside in 1972 and was only 26 years old this year. Her husband hadn’t been to school, but he was especially good to her and their children.
