Chapter 62: The Family Visits Grandma Song and Binbin
“Honey, there’s something I need to tell you,” Mo Haoyue said, his expression turning serious.
Mi Xia stopped acting coquettish and asked solemnly, “What is it? You look so serious.”
Mo Haoyue recounted what Liu Baoguo had told him in the car. He wanted to spend his life with Mi Xia and couldn’t keep it from her.
Mi Xia’s reaction mirrored Mo Haoyue’s – her mouth fell open in shock.
“It’s true, my dad told me himself,” Mo Haoyue repeated.
Then, unable to contain himself, he burst into laughter, clutching his stomach. His wife’s expression was just too cute.
Seeing Mo Haoyue laughing at her, Mi Xia wouldn’t let him off. She started tickling his arms, his most sensitive spot.
“I’ll teach you to laugh,” Mi Xia said, continuing to tickle him. “Keep laughing then, humph.”
“Hahaha… Honey… haha… I’m wrong… I really am wrong,” Mo Haoyue pleaded, his words punctuated by laughter.
Mi Xia finally stopped when Mo Haoyue begged for mercy, but he wouldn’t let her off. They hadn’t seen each other for so long, and Mo Haoyue, young and strong, with his beautiful wife beside him, couldn’t resist.
Mo Haoyue looked at Mi Xia’s slender waist, as if a light squeeze would break it. He felt a surge of heat.
His amorous gaze fixed on Mi Xia, and in the ambiguous atmosphere, her face seemed even more beautiful.
Mo Haoyue pulled Mi Xia into his arms, breathing heavily. “Honey…”
The room was filled with spring’s warmth.
The next morning.
“Honey, wake up. Take Xia Xia and me out first; the little girl will wake up soon,” Mo Haoyue nudged Mi Xia.
Mi Xia glared at him, and he sheepishly touched his nose.
After leaving the space, Mi Xia took out two breakfasts. “You accompany Xia Xia for breakfast. I’ll sleep a little longer. Wake me up at nine.”
Luckily, her class didn’t start until ten. Soon, Mi Xia was softly snoring.
“Xia Xia, Mommy is too tired and still sleeping. Let’s not disturb her, okay?”
Mo Zhixia nodded obediently and whispered in Mo Haoyue’s ear, “Let’s keep our voices down so we don’t wake Mommy.”
Mo Haoyue affectionately stroked the little girl’s hair. “Shall we go wash up now?”
After Mo Haoyue finished breakfast with his daughter, Liu Zhaodi and Zhang Xiaobao arrived.
Liu Zhaodi didn’t ask why Mi Xia hadn’t come out; Mo Haoyue had just returned, and everyone knew what newly reunited couples might do.
“Shall I take Xia Xia to school?” Liu Zhaodi asked Mo Haoyue.
“Thank you.”
“No problem. We’ll go then.” Liu Zhaodi held Zhang Xiaobao’s and Mo Zhixia’s hands.
“Bye, Dad.” Mo Zhixia waved obediently.
“Bye, Xia Xia.”
After watching Liu Zhaodi and the children leave, he returned to the room. Seeing his wife’s peaceful sleeping face, Mo Haoyue couldn’t resist kissing Mi Xia lightly.
He nervously glanced at Mi Xia. Thankfully, he hadn’t woken her. He couldn’t stay, or he feared he wouldn’t be able to control himself.
Mo Haoyue went to the study. Mi Xia had placed many books there, for when Mo Haoyue couldn’t enter the space.
He had about ten days left before reporting to the military academy. He still had many things to do. Tomorrow was the weekend; he would take his wife and daughter home.
“Honey, wake up, it’s nine o’clock,” Mo Haoyue whispered.
Mi Xia mumbled sleepily, “Okay, I’ll get up.”
Mo Haoyue looked at his wife and didn’t want her to get up. What should he do?
Mi Xia snorted. “I have class later. If you dare delay me, I’ll give you the silent treatment.”
Mo Haoyue didn’t want to be ignored by Mi Xia, so he suppressed his desires.
“Honey, I forgot to tell you something yesterday. After returning to the county, I visited Grandma Song. I learned that their family has been exonerated. This note is from her to you.”
Mi Xia took the note and looked at it. “This address… isn’t it the row of villas a few streets away from our house?”
“Yes, it is.”
“After school tonight, can we go see Grandma Song and Binbin this afternoon?” Mi Xia asked.
“Okay, I’ll do whatever you say.”
Mi Xia had a quick breakfast and left for school.
After Mi Xia left the yard, Mo Haoyue returned to the study to read.
At Jingqing University, Su Ranran whispered to Mi Xia, “Mi Xia, can I wait until I find a house before moving my family?”
“No need to move. At the latest, next week, I’ll start preparing to open a bakery. Your husband will be busy then,” Mi Xia comforted her.
“Really?” Su Ranran looked at Mi Xia gratefully.
“Really. Stay put. We’ll start getting busy next week.”
In the afternoon, Mi Xia returned to the small villa after class.
Mo Haoyue and Mi Xia, with their daughter, walked towards the address on the note.
Mi Xia looked at the small villa in front of her, almost identical to the one she bought.
“Knock knock knock.”
When the door opened, Grandma Song saw Mi Xia’s family and was overjoyed.
“Come in quickly.” Then Grandma Song called into the house, “Binbin, Xia and her family are here.”
Two people emerged from the house: an elderly but elegant middle-aged man and Song Binbin.
“Sister Xia, you’re here! Grandma and I missed you so much,” Song Binbin ran to hug Mi Xia.
“Binbin;sister missed you too. As soon as we got the address, we came.”
“Son, this is the benefactor I and Binbin told you about. If it weren’t for her care over these years, I don’t know what would have happened to Binbin and me,” Grandma Song said, smiling as she introduced Mi Xia to her son.
“Xiao Xia, Haoyue, this is my son, Song Guoqing.”
“Hello, Uncle,” Mi Xia and Mo Haoyue said simultaneously.
“Come in, why are you standing in the yard?” Grandma Song called.
Everyone went inside. Grandma Song looked at the house.
She said with deep longing, “Our whole family used to live here. Binbin’s grandfather and mother… never came back.”
“Grandma, don’t cry. I’ll always be with you,” Binbin said comfortingly, hugging Grandma Song.
Song Guoqing’s eyes were red. “Xia, thank you. If it weren’t for you taking care of my mother and Binbin, I might not have seen them again.”
After speaking, Song Guoqing bowed to Mi Xia, startling her.
“Mr. Song, you don’t have to. It was because I liked the ring Binbin showed me. I’ve been sending food to Grandma Song and Binbin, and Grandma Song gave Haoyue and me a jade pendant. I really can’t accept such a great gift.”
Mi Xia explained awkwardly. The things she gave Grandma Song were insignificant compared to the jade pendant.
“I still have to thank you. Others might have taken my mother’s belongings. They might give ten or twenty kilograms of grain.”
“You not only didn’t deceive them, but you also kept them company.”
Song Guoqing was truly grateful to Mi Xia. If it weren’t for her, his mother would have died during that illness, and young Binbin might not have survived.
