The top student’s soul transmigrated into a failing student – Chapter 15

Chapter 15

The blanket was puffed up suspiciously. Lin Yeci curled his legs, trying to hide the obvious fact that someone else was in the bed. With a guilty smile, he muttered, “I’m just a little thirsty… Thought I’d get up and pour myself some water…”

“There are disposable cups on the cabinet, and the kettle has water too. I’ll pour you a cup,” Jiang’s dad offered, reaching to turn on the light.

“Don’t turn on the light!”
There was a whole person under the covers—if the light went on, they’d be busted immediately.

He was sleeping on someone else’s bed, under someone else’s blanket, with someone else’s daughter in it…

If Jiang’s dad found out, Lin Yeci’s legs would definitely be broken!

And it wasn’t even his fault—he went to bed alone and woke up with the inexplicable Jiang Zhiyu in his bed.

Jiang’s dad gave a questioning hum, clearly suspicious.

Lin Yeci racked his brain before coming up with an excuse. “I just woke up suddenly, and I’m worried that if I turn on the light, I won’t be able to sleep again. Light pollution, you know… Uncle, you should sleep early. I’ll get it myself, don’t trouble yourself.”

“Well then, I’ll head back. You should sleep early too,” Jiang’s dad said as he left the room, still muttering “light pollution,” thinking kids these days really are educated. Then he sighed again, assuming the child had no sense of security—sleeping without even locking the door…

BU~~

A loud fart echoed in the room. Lin Yeci froze.

At the door, Jiang’s dad stiffened too. “Did that kid just crap the bed?” he wondered. He peeked into the room and met Lin Yeci’s equally shocked eyes. Shivering slightly, he bolted from the room.

Only after hearing the door to Jiang’s dad’s room close did Jiang Zhiyu poke her flushed face out from under the blanket.

“I’m dying from the smell,” she said, voice trembling, gasping for fresh air.

Lin Yeci’s lips twitched in disgust. He got off the bed like he was fleeing a disaster zone and quietly shut the door in case of another surprise attack.

“You’re the first person I’ve seen get choked by their own fart.”

Jiang Zhiyu didn’t get mad. She covered her mouth and giggled. “No, no, that was yours.”

“You didn’t sneak into my room just to fart at me, did you?” Lin Yeci asked suspiciously, sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at the gassy little fox.

Only then did Jiang Zhiyu remember why she was there. Hugging the sanitary pad she had successfully retrieved, she slunk back to her own room.

Back in her bed, she finally let out a long sigh. Tonight had been thrilling, dangerous, awkward, and hilarious all at once…

The next day was clear and sunny, sunlight streaming through the window and onto Jiang Zhiyu’s face.

The alarm rang. She washed up, squinted as she slung on her backpack, and walked out.

She found Lin Yeci already waiting at the door. He glanced at his black wristwatch. “You’re right on time. If we leave now, we’ll arrive at school just as it starts.”

As soon as he spoke, Jiang Zhiyu perked up and patted his chest. “Tsk, of course. I’ve got perfect timing.”

Such a self-absorbed little fox.

Lin Yeci walked ahead with long strides.

To keep up with him, Jiang Zhiyu had to half-jog. On the way, she stopped by a breakfast stall to buy some buns and stuffed a few into Lin Yecí’s hands.

He accepted them but still didn’t slow down.

Jiang Zhiyu muttered “ungrateful wolf” under her breath—he took her food but didn’t even wait for her.

For some reason, the bus was unusually crowded that day—mostly filled with students from the same school.

Perhaps it was because of yesterday’s flooding; the pipes had only just been cleared that morning.

Now Lin Yeci’s long legs finally came in handy—he carved a path ahead while Jiang Zhiyu followed behind, finally finding a decent spot near the side of the bus.

But the crowd was overwhelming, and Lin Yeci got pushed to the back of the bus.

At the next stop, a wave of people got off, and another wave boarded. He Shiduo, with her high ponytail and pink backpack, got on the bus.

Right behind her was a balding middle-aged man following uncomfortably close.

At first, Jiang Zhiyu didn’t pay much attention. He Shiduo had immediately moved away from her in disgust.

But the bus was so packed that she eventually ended up right next to Jiang Zhiyu again.

Jiang Zhiyu deliberately threw He Shiduo a flirtatious wink as if to say: You can’t escape me~

The bus started moving. Jiang Zhiyu stopped teasing and put in her earbuds to listen to music, closing her eyes to rest. Her stomach still hurt a little, adding to her irritation.

Then, the bus jolted—and Jiang Zhiyu noticed a hand behind He Shiduo.

That disgusting hand kept squeezing her from time to time. He Shiduo looked terrified, frozen in place, eyes brimming with tears.

Jiang Zhiyu quickly turned on her phone’s camera and aimed it straight at the two. From her angle, the pervert’s every creepy movement was crystal clear.

He Shiduo saw her filming and felt her world collapse. She had always bullied Jiang Zhiyu, and now Jiang Zhiyu had this humiliating footage—if it got posted online, her reputation would be ruined, her life over.

Jiang Zhiyu tilted her head, smiled at He Shiduo, then strode forward and grabbed that nasty hand tightly.

SMACK! SMACK!

Two clean slaps landed on the bald man’s fat face, leaving imprints.

The surrounding students cleared a path for Jiang Zhiyu, giving her space.

“Apologize to your ancestor here!” she shouted, loud enough for the whole bus to hear.

The bald man’s face twisted with rage, raising his hand like he was going to slap her back. “You little brat, instead of studying, you dare hit me?!”

“You touched me! I’ve got a video, the bus has surveillance too. Want to take a trip to the police station?” Jiang Zhiyu replied righteously, stunning He Shiduo.

He Shiduo couldn’t believe how bold and fierce Jiang Zhiyu looked. She was speechless—this girl had taken the blame for the harassment herself.

“I didn’t touch you!” the man yelled. He’d clearly groped the high ponytail girl, not this feisty, plain-looking one—he wasn’t even interested in her!

But it wasn’t over.

The guy was big and strong—knowing she couldn’t beat him in a real fight, Jiang Zhiyu went full drama mode and started bawling on the bus.

“Waaaah! Fellow students, kind uncles, aunties, driver sir—please judge for me! I’m still a month away from turning 18! I ran into this today, how am I supposed to live after this?! Waaaaaah!”
