The top student’s soul transmigrated into a failing student – Chapter 16

Chapter 16

Lin Yeci poked his head in this direction, unable to help but marvel at how this little fox dared to say anything…

The driver was quick, locking the car doors tightly and pulling over to the side. “Don’t be afraid, little girl. I’m calling the police now. When they arrive, I’ll make sure to get justice for you.”

He Shiduo instinctively shrank back, moving closer to Jiang Zhiyu. The girl in front of her today gave her a strong sense of security.

After about ten minutes, a police officer pulled up beside the bus, got out, and spoke with the driver. They then cuffed the creepy bald uncle.

“Touching a female student on the bus? How long do you plan to stay in jail?” the officer said sternly, exuding righteousness. He continued, “The student who was groped will come with us to make a statement.”

Jiang Zhiyu glanced at the still-panicked He Shiduo. “Are you willing to be my witness?”

“Of course… I’m willing…” He Shiduo had never been so grateful to anyone. She seemed to understand why Jiang Zhiyu didn’t save her immediately but recorded a video instead—she was preserving evidence.

Somehow, Lin Yeci managed to squeeze to the front, looking obedient. “Sorry, Officer. I’m their class monitor. I’d like to go with them. That way, I’ll have an answer when the teacher asks why we’re late for school.”

“Are you their class monitor?” the officer asked cautiously.

Jiang Zhiyu and He Shiduo nodded, and the officer agreed.

This delayed the whole bus full of students, who all arrived late…

The bald man had initially been nervous because he knew he had groped a student, but he was 100% certain it wasn’t the girl who was sitting next to him later.

However, once they arrived at the police station to make statements, he suddenly remembered something and denied everything. The bus driver was nowhere to be found, and the bus cameras probably couldn’t capture such details in the crowded conditions.

“Where’s the evidence? Little girl, you’re accusing me of groping you, but where’s the proof?” the man argued.

The officer kicked Lin Yeci out, as it was a matter of protecting the girl’s reputation—the fewer people who knew, the better.

After Lin Yeci was escorted out into the hallway, Jiang Zhiyu presented the video evidence she had recorded. In the video, the bald man looked completely creepy and his behavior was absolutely vile.

The officer asked, “You say it’s you in the video, but it’s not. It’s the little girl beside you. What do you have to say about that?” The officer tried to ask as many detailed questions as possible during the statement.

Jiang Zhiyu glanced at He Shicuo and explained, “She’s a very good friend of mine. I don’t want her to be talked about like this…”

She couldn’t exactly say it was her damn sense of justice, especially since He Shicuo had a grudge against her…

The officer, who had been writing, suddenly stopped and started clapping. Amidst the applause, Jiang Zhiyu couldn’t help but blush with embarrassment.

Once the statement was finished, the officers told them to head back to school, and the man who had harassed the minor had to remain in jail.

The police car arrived at the school gate, and the security guards, seeing the situation, had no choice but to let them in.

By the time they reached school, the morning reading session was over, and Lin Yeci had already gone to the office to report their tardiness to the teacher.

On the sports field, dozens of students were doing frog jumps, all of them the ones who had been late from the same bus.

A teacher from the moral education office stood nearby with a long wooden ruler, ordering them to hurry up.

Jiang Zhiyu felt a little embarrassed for causing everyone to be late.

But the next second, she no longer cared. The classmates on the bus had spread the rumors they overheard.

Ye Muwan purposely passed by Jiang Zhiyu and said, “No wonder the boys like you. You even go after both young and old~”

A girl from Ye Muwan’s class giggled, “Yeah, I heard it was a bald uncle. Truly a flirt.”

Beside them, He Shiduo’s eyes were filled with tears. After much hesitation, she decided to speak up.

“Shut up!” Jiang Zhiyu raised her voice, seemingly scolding Ye Muwan, but really warning He Shiduo to keep quiet.

“I’m a flirt, so what? At least I’m better than some people who seem so youthful but are rotten on the inside,” Jiang Zhiyu said calmly and coldly, even though her words were sharp, she didn’t back down.

Ye Muwan had no comeback and kept signaling to her classmates to challenge Jiang Zhiyu, hoping they could make her cry in a debate.

A girl, all fired up, confronted Jiang Zhiyu. “Stop talking nonsense. Who doesn’t know how you used to cry all the time? Now you’re not pretending to cry. I guess you really are a faker. You can’t even pretend to study well, can you? Trash. You’ll always be a study failure! A lowlife!”

Zhang Qiangyi appeared from behind the loud-mouthed girl and slapped her on the head with a move she called “One Yang Finger.” The slap was heavy and left the girl dizzy.

“Who do you think you are to talk about my Fishy like that?” Zhang Qiangyi said with a fierce tone, looking like a delinquent.

The girl’s head was buzzing from the slap, and seeing Zhang Qiangyi’s fierce look, she panicked, like a stray dog.

“Zhang Qiangyi, you’re not even in your uniform. Be careful I go report you to the grade director,” Ye Muwan said impatiently, tugging the girl away.

“Report me if you want,” Zhang Qiangyi cracked her knuckles. “If I can solve it with my hands, I won’t use my mouth. Don’t you have a bunch of little followers? If you’ve got the guts, get them to come face me.”

The hallway had unknowingly filled with people, and Ye Muwan’s face showed an unmistakable look of embarrassment. She had always been known for her sharpness and competence, but today she was the one who had fallen in front of Jiang Zhiyu.

A single tear rolled down Ye Muwan’s cheek, looking as delicate as a flower bud.

“You said our Fishy cries all the time. Have you seen how many times he’s cried these past few days? I think you’re the real crybaby,” Zhang Qiangyi said with biting sarcasm, not sparing Ye Muwan.

Ye Mu Wan, her beautiful face twisted with malice, said, “Remember this!”

“We’ll remember,” Zhang Qiangyi said, sticking out her tongue and grinning.

The bell rang, and He Shiduo was pulled back to her seat by the short-haired girl behind her. The girl was still gossiping about the morning’s events. “I heard you went to be a witness. Was Jiang Zhiyu really in a mess this morning?”

He Shiduo didn’t want to talk to her, so she just replied, “Why are you so nosy? I think Jiang Zhiyu is pretty good. You said her features were nice last time, and I took a good look these days. She really is beautiful.” Then she gave an honest smile. She had switched from being a hater to a fan.
