Chapter 30

Jiang Zhiyu started walking and reminded the two girls beside her, “Make sure you stand farther away while recording.”

However, as she approached the guy with the large mole at the corner of his mouth, she noticed something odd. Why did this guy look a bit bruised around the nose and face, and the sleeve on his right side was torn? He looked like he’d already been in a fight—and lost?

She steadied herself, thinking maybe she was overthinking it. This guy, who had supposedly been in fights all over the place, could’ve just been beaten somewhere else. And as a small-time thug, getting beaten up wasn’t anything surprising.

In truth, Jiang Zhiyu was a little nervous. Rumors about this guy painted him as wicked, violent, almost legendary in his ruthlessness—someone who even hit girls.

She glanced behind her. Zhang Qiangyi was following them from a distance, while He Shiduo was circling around from the other side to flank. That way, they could capture everything from two angles.

The guy was cunning. He deliberately picked a spot outside of campus, took several turns, and even crossed through a few small wooded areas. That way, even calling a teacher for help would be difficult.

He Shiduo was already familiar with Jiang Zhiyu’s typical strategy—record the video and call the cops. For a smoother video, she even deleted a few apps. She played the role of a helpless girl who had no choice but to comply.

Zhang Qiangyi didn’t really want to listen to Jiang Zhiyu. She brought a wooden stick along—if those guys dared to lay a finger on anyone, she’d fight them with all she had.

At the designated location, several tall, muscular guys surrounded Jiang Zhiyu.

Just like the guy with the mole, their clothes were tattered, as if they’d just come out of a fight.

One particularly tall guy walked over. His shirt was torn, exposing faint glimpses of abs. He didn’t look fierce—just like a normal young guy. Not ugly, not exactly handsome either.

“You’re Jiang Zhiyu?” The boy had a bruised lip, and it looked painful when he spoke. He covered part of his face with his hand and let out a soft groan.

Jiang Zhiyu sneered. She figured this was the infamous campus boss. She showed no fear and replied, “Yeah, that’s me. Hurry up—I suggest you make this quick.”

So cocky?

Didn’t Ye Muwan and the others call Jiang Zhiyu a walking crybaby, an ugly duckling? Someone comparable to a wilting flower?

But seeing her today changed that opinion. Jiang Zhiyu’s face might not be the cleanest, but her features were sharp, especially that high, straight nose. What were those girls thinking when they compared her to a wilted flower?

“Boss Fish*, I was wrong, I was so wrong. I never should’ve told the whole world I was going to bully you today, and I definitely shouldn’t have acted all righteous on someone else’s behalf!” The guy bowed a full 90 degrees, eyes brimming with tears—an extremely sincere apology.
(*Note: “Fish” in her name sounds like “Yu,” and “Fish Jie” is a nickname meaning Sister Yu.)

What’s going on?

He Shiduo was stunned. This Boss Fish actually managed to tame even this guy? As expected of her—so cool!

“Why aren’t you hitting me?” Jiang Zhiyu was genuinely confused. Weren’t they supposed to fight? She was ready to fake an injury and ask for compensation. And yet this guy was apologizing on his own?

The guy thought Jiang Zhiyu was provoking him. His lips twitched even more. This girl wasn’t a crybaby at all—more like a greedy wolf who wouldn’t be satisfied easily. Even after he bowed and apologized, she was still provoking him?

With a thud, the guy dropped to one knee, palms together. “Boss Fish, I really messed up. Please forgive me. I’m begging you, stop scaring me like this. I’m about to develop heart problems.”

She should’ve guessed—he looked like someone who’d already been beaten up. People said he was super badass, so who managed to school him this badly and get him to apologize?

Originally, he hadn’t planned to apologize so easily. According to rumors, Jiang Zhiyu was just a crybaby, a pushover. He never expected that the moment she saw him, she’d say, “Hurry up and hit me.”

So many boys went weak in the knees at just the sight of him. Some were even scared to the point of peeing themselves. But this girl? She spoke like she had a plan to deal with him if he made a move.

Seeing this, Jiang Zhiyu naturally pushed things further. She sat on a stone stool nearby, back straight. “Come on then, help your Fish Jie relax—give me a shoulder massage. I’ve been in class all day, I’m tired.”

“Taking it too far…” muttered the guy with the mole, clenching his fists, feeling injustice for his buddy.

Jiang Zhiyu realized these guys had been beaten, and whoever did it was far stronger than them.

She thought for a moment—maybe it was Xu Leyun? She hadn’t seen him all day. He’d promised to buy her breakfast and be her follower, but vanished without a trace. She thought he’d run off, but maybe he was helping her from the shadows after all.

“Don’t talk about Boss Fish like that!” the guy scolded the mole-face harshly, then immediately turned to Jiang Zhiyu with a sunny smile. “Don’t listen to him, Boss Fish. Whatever you say goes—how is that taking things too far?”

While massaging her shoulders, he asked, “By the way, Boss Fish, my name’s Xiao Zhang. Just call me Little Zhang from now on.”

Xiao Zhang really lived up to his name—so arrogant that even his name sounded cocky.

“Little Zhang, which class are you from? I don’t think I’ve seen you around school before,” Jiang Zhiyu asked, still curious. “And who was it that beat you up?”

“I can’t say who it was—I promised them. But Boss Fish, you really didn’t know? I’m in your class.”

“Our class?” Jiang Zhiyu couldn’t believe it. She only knew the back row had an empty seat, and it turns out this guy had been sitting there all along?

Seeing her shock, he added, “Actually, I repeated the year twice.”

“Just say you were held back,” she muttered.

They were already in senior year. With how clueless he was, no way he just repeated for better grades.

Exposed, Xiao Zhang looked embarrassed. “Boss Fish, you’re right.” Then he hesitated and asked, “Can I take a video with you…”

“What video?”

“The person who told me to teach you a lesson—I owe her a favor. She told me that no matter what the outcome, I had to take a photo with you and post it on the school forum.” Xiao Zhang smiled awkwardly, trying to be polite.

So Ye Muwan really was that cruel, huh? She probably wanted to see Jiang Zhiyu in a sorry state.

But who would’ve thought Jiang Zhiyu walked away completely fine—and even earned the title of Boss Fish from Xiao Zhang?

In the video, Jiang Zhiyu flashed a big peace sign while casually directing Xiao Zhang on how hard to press during the massage, looking totally relaxed.

Ye Muwan glanced at her watch and told everyone to watch the school forum. She had planned this whole show carefully.

Finally, Xiao Zhang’s account posted something new. The thumbnail showed Jiang Zhiyu in a bit of a messy state. Ye Muwan smiled and clicked it—
