The Villain Host Is Too Fierce
The Villain Host is Too Fierce Chapter 22: Cold-Hearted CEO vs. Mercenary King (2)

The moment Mo Sheng looked at the cold, calm-faced man in front of him, his heart nearly stopped. There was even an overwhelming urge to live and die for him.

How could this be? How could such a crazy thought arise? Just a moment ago, he had wanted to end this man’s life—so why, in the next second, did he feel like he could no longer control his wildly beating heart?

Mo Sheng panicked internally but forced himself to remain calm, trying his best to maintain a composed gaze as he stared at the man.

Seeing that his lover appeared to have only superficial wounds, Bai Rui breathed a sigh of relief. He then began to carefully observe his lover’s appearance in this life.

His physique was just as tall and strong as in the previous life, but now it seemed even more muscular. His bronzed skin, taut with powerful muscles, gave off an aura of strength. His chiseled features resembled those of the past; he looked like Xiao Zhan but with a more rugged and tough edge. There was a deep scar on his forehead, running through his eyebrow and stopping at the corner of his eye. But rather than being ugly, it only added to his masculine charm.

Mo Sheng felt the intense gaze of the other man’s narrow, almond-shaped eyes studying him and subconsciously puffed out his chest. It was a feeling of nervousness he hadn’t experienced in over a decade.

Yet, when that gaze lingered on him, Mo Sheng felt a strange sense of satisfaction. It was as if his heart was shouting, Yes, that’s it. Look at me! Keep looking at me!

“Why?”

Bai Rui suddenly spoke, catching Mo Sheng off guard. He was momentarily stunned before asking.

“What do you mean, why?”

“Why did you try to kill me?”

Bai Rui smiled lightly and stepped closer to Mo Sheng, looking down at him from above. This made all the tender emotions in Mo Sheng’s heart instantly clear up.

Yes, he had come to kill Song Rui’an. Song Rui’an had been injured because of him! In that moment, Mo Sheng didn’t think of his sister, who had been hurt, but of how badly he had wounded Song Rui’an.

“How are you?”

Mo Sheng’s mind didn’t process his words before he blurted them out. Bai Rui saw that, although his lover didn’t remember him, there was still a natural instinct to protect him. His gaze softened for a moment, and his smile widened slightly.

“I’m fine. Now, can you tell me why you wanted to kill me? Although I have many enemies, I deserve to know why I was hurt.”

Mo Sheng bit his lip and frowned, clearly frustrated and unwilling to speak the words.

“I want to kill you because… you… assaulted my sister!”

Mo Sheng gritted his teeth as he uttered those words, recalling how Mo Xiaoyun had claimed that Song Rui’an was the one who assaulted her. His anger surged, but he wasn’t sure whether to be angry at Song Rui’an, himself, or Mo Xiaoyun.

Mo Sheng was shocked by his own thoughts. He realized that he felt an overwhelming sense of jealousy—not only because of what had happened between Mo Xiaoyun and the man in front of him but also because of the strange feelings he had towards Bai Rui. He stared at Bai Rui, wondering if the man practiced sorcery that was making him feel so abnormal.

Mo Sheng longed to know what reaction the other would have to these words—what exactly did he want to see? A denial? But how could he trust a stranger over his own sister?

“I didn’t.”

Bai Rui merely cast a glance at the man and immediately knew that his “jealous king” nature was about to be triggered again.

Upon hearing Bai Rui’s denial, Mo Sheng’s heart filled with uncontrollable joy, yet he still asked in a dry tone,

“Then how will you prove it?”

At these words, Bai Rui suddenly leaned close to Mo Sheng and kissed his rather full lips. Seeing the other man completely dumbfounded, a trace of a smile appeared in Bai Rui’s eyes. As he tentatively pushed apart the other’s lips, he felt the man’s willing acceptance.

That sudden realization, the joy of regaining something lost, and the tenderness filled with love all melted into this kiss. It made Bai Rui certain that he was back, back by his side again.

Bai Rui made a conscious effort to hold back the tears at the corners of his eyes, and gently kissed his lover; through this kiss, he truly confirmed that he was indeed his lover.

Having spent countless sweet days and nights together, the taste of the other person, the feelings he evoked—all of these things wouldn’t change. With a contented sigh in his heart, he had to regretfully pull away.

Bai Rui closed his eyes, his nose gently brushing against Mo Sheng’s, both of them breathing heavily.

“Now, did I prove it?”

Mo Sheng was stunned for a long while before he finally came back to his senses from the kiss. The man tasted so wonderful that it made his heart tremble. He was so dazed that he didn’t know how to respond and could only passively indulge in it.

Staring at the face just inches away, Mo Sheng finally couldn’t hold back and instinctively pulled Bai Rui into his arms. Panting, he said, “What… How does this count as proof?”

Bai Rui obediently rested against Mo Sheng’s chest, his fingers gently caressing Mo Sheng’s lips, a tender smile on his face.

“I only like men, so I have no interest in your sister. Also, I have obsessive-compulsive disorder.”

“OCD?” Mo Cheng swallowed hard, fighting the urge to lick those long fingers.

“Yeah, that’s right. So, you’re the first and only person I’ve kissed. I fell in love with you at first sight!”

Boom!

Mo Sheng heard the sound of his own reason faltering, and for some reason, he completely believed the man in front of him. He was already in his grasp; the man didn’t need to deceive him in this situation. So if he said he hadn’t done something, then he truly hadn’t.

And now, this man was telling him that he liked him! What was more, Mo Sheng was the first person he had kissed. This realization made Mo Sheng’s heart burn with warmth.

For the past 27 years, aside from his sister Mo Xiaoyun, he had always been alone. He never knew whether he liked men or women and had never met anyone who truly stirred his heart.

But now, Mo Sheng deeply felt that he had fallen in love with someone—someone who appeared cold and powerful.

Earlier, when they had clashed, he only felt hatred toward the other person. Yet, in this dim underground room, when they met again, it was as if the man had become a completely different person. With just one glance, Mo Sheng was completely smitten, eager to possess him immediately.

Song Rui’an had said he hadn’t violated Xiaoyun, so there must have been some misunderstanding. If it was a misunderstanding, then there was no hatred between him and Song Rui’an. Without hatred, that meant he could be his partner. Mo Sheng had already started imagining a happy life with Song Rui’an; he smiled goofily.

If Lao Hei knew that Mo Sheng thought this way, he would definitely be in awe of his logic. Unfortunately, the moment Bai Rui kissed Mo Sheng, Lao Hei had already disgustedly retreated to the depths of his consciousness.

“Ah!” Bai Rui suddenly cried out in pain. Mo Sheng had held him tightly and unknowingly pressed down on the wound on his shoulder. Mo Sheng seemed to realize this as well and quickly let go of Bai Rui, his eyes falling on the shoulder now stained with blood. Frustrated, he slapped himself hard.

“I’m sorry, it’s all my fault! I should have asked you first!”

Bai Rui quickly grabbed Mo Sheng’s hand, feeling a bit distressed as he gently rubbed his swollen cheek. With a frown, he asked, “Do you believe me?”

“I believe you, I believe everything you say!” Mo Sheng was completely overwhelmed. He tightly held onto Bai Rui’s hand and pressed it to his lips, kissing it deeply.

“I—I don’t even know what’s happening. When we were fighting earlier, I didn’t feel anything, but the moment I saw you again, it was like you filled my heart and mind. I like you… no! I love you! We kissed just now, and I’ll take responsibility for you!”

Mo Sheng was a little incoherent, but he was still eager to express his feelings to the man in front of him. After all, he had been hurt because of him. Even though Song Rui’an had said he fell in love with him at first sight, Mo Sheng still felt uneasy, and he was desperately trying to solidify their relationship.

He gently hugged Bai Rui, being careful not to press on the wound. Tentatively, he kissed the corner of Bai Rui’s mouth. Seeing that Bai Rui didn’t object, he kissed him again, this time louder. Smiling, he said,

“I’ve sealed the deal! You’re my wife now! I—I’ll treat you well for the rest of my life!”

Bai Rui looked at Mo Sheng’s innocent and passionate expression, raising an eyebrow. From the moment he first met this man, he knew that Mo Sheng had been through his fair share of hardships. He hadn’t expected this kind of reaction when it came to feelings. Reflecting on his past life and recalling Xiao Zhan’s initial hesitation, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of novelty.

However, as expected, his lover wouldn’t disappoint him. Bai Rui thought to himself with a sense of happiness but he still gently pushed Mo Sheng away.

“Sorry, I can’t be with you.”
