Biological Son Part 4
Recently, Lin Chengshan had been encouraging Lin Qingqing to speak more and not be afraid. Lin Qingqing was concerned that if she didn’t speak up, her father might not want her. That’s why she answered Old Madam Ji’s questions. She found Old Madam Ji somewhat approachable, which is why she spoke up.
Once in the living room, Lin Chengshan had Lin Qingqing sit down while he went to get water for Old Madam Ji.
Lin Qingqing hugged a small water bottle, drinking from it.
“Young man,” Old Madam Ji said, taking the water Lin Chengshan offered, “Are you in the city to…”
Are you here to find your relatives?
Old Madam Ji wanted to ask this question but couldn’t bring herself to say it. She thought of what Mother Dong had said, and her own investigations, and seeing Lin Qingqing in person, who was indeed very thin. She doubted the child’s fragile arms and legs would withstand much pressure.
“I came here to get a divorce and settle down,” Lin Chengshan said. “The child is growing up and needs to go to school. The doctors in the countryside said she’s malnourished and needs more nutrition.”
Lin Chengshan was not trying to hide anything. There was nothing to hide. He didn’t understand why Old Madam Ji had come to his home but suspected she might have some hidden agenda.
“I… I thought…” Old Madam Ji’s long nails dug into her palms. “I thought… I thought you were… Young man, where are your parents?”
“I have no parents,” Lin Chengshan said. He had no intention of acknowledging any family ties. Even though he told the Lin family he wasn’t their biological son, it didn’t mean he would go to any household to claim kinship.
Lin Chengshan didn’t even know which household was which, how could he investigate? In that era, there was no paternity test, so there was no way to determine it. Without any proof, others would just think he was trying to climb up the social ladder.
“Old lady, are you trying to gather information?” Lin Chengshan asked.
“No…” Old Madam Ji replied.
“Drink some water,” Lin Chengshan said. “I’ll be busy later.”
Lin Qingqing looked up slightly at Old Madam Ji. WhenOld Madam Ji looked at her, she quickly looked down and continued drinking water.
Old Madam Ji thought about how she hadn’t brought anything with her and considered she should have bought something. Seeing Lin Qingqing’s timid appearance, she couldn’t help but ask, “May I hold the child?”
“The child is shy,” Lin Chengshan said, directly blocking Old Madam Ji’s view of Lin Qingqing.
Did these people see Lin Qingqing as nothing more than a stain from Xiao Man?
Lin Chengshan felt a surge of anger; he was worried that Old Madam Ji might want to harm Lin Qingqing.
In his previous life, when his daughter died, Lin Chengshan didn’t see Xiao Man being particularly sad. The Xiao family members were all still smiling, and he even felt they were somewhat relieved.
“She’s my biological daughter, even if her mother sees her as a stain and believes she shouldn’t exist,” Lin Chengshan reminded Old Madam Ji. “Anyone who wants to harm my daughter will have to go over my dead body!”
“Yes, yes, you’re a good father,” Old Madam Ji said, with slightly reddened eyes as she drank the water.
“Are you still thirsty? If you are, drink more. When you’re done, you should leave,” Lin Chengshan said.
“Alright…” Old Madam Ji could only stand up.
Old Madam Ji knew she wasn’t prepared for anything today. If she abruptly claimed that Lin Chengshan was her biological son, it wouldn’t be realistic. She could see that Lin Chengshan was very guarded. Despite her saying she was a Ji, Lin Chengshan still didn’t know.
This suggested that Lin Chengshan might have just been talking to Old Lady Lin and the others. Lin Chengshan never intended to acknowledge his biological family. He merely wanted to get rid of that group of vampires from the Lin family.
After Old Madam Ji left, Lin Chengshan hurriedly told his daughter, “If you encounter strangers, don’t go with them, don’t let them hold you. Even if they offer you candy, don’t eat it. If you’re taken away, I’ll have to search for you everywhere, all over the country, and I might not even find you, understand?”
“Mm, I won’t go with strangers, I won’t let them hold me, and I won’t eat what they give me,” Lin Qingqing nodded firmly.
Lin Qingqing always liked to nod in this manner, appearing to listen to Lin Chengshan. Lin Chengshan ruffled his daughter’s hair, “We’ll be able to finish making the chair today.”
Old Madam Ji quickly walked to a corner, leaned against the wall, and slowly sank to the ground. She covered her mouth, afraid to make a sound, resembling Lin Qingqing when she covered her face.
Old Madam Ji was certain that Lin Chengshan was her biological son!
There was no mistake!
Lin Chengshan looked so much like Old Madam Ji’s deceased brother. It was possible for two people to look alike, considering how many people there are in the world.
But Lin Chengshan had grown up in the Lin family, the very family she had entrusted her child to.
Old Madam Ji regretted not going to the countryside herself back then. If she had, she might have recognized her biological son. It was all her fault. Others didn’t know what her deceased brother looked like, nor did they know what he was like as a child.
After a while, the driver, who hadn’t seen Old Madam Ji for some time, came to find her and discovered her sitting there. The driver quickly helped Old Madam Ji get into the car and asked, “Madam, do you need to go to the hospital?”
“No, no need. Just take me home!” Old Madam Ji wanted to gather her eldest son, second son, and husband.
Over the years, her youngest son had caused many troubles, and the Ji family had exhausted all their patience with him. After the youngest son and his family were driven out, the situation improved somewhat, and relations eased a bit when his daughter-in-law had a girl.
When Old Madam Ji got home, she made calls to gather everyone.
The Ji family rarely saw Old Madam Ji like this, and they all thought something major had happened, so they rushed back immediately.
When they saw Old Madam Ji with red eyes, her eldest son, Ji Zeyan, immediately said, “Mother, did the third brother get into trouble again?”
“No, no, it’s not him,” Old Madam Ji said through gritted teeth.
“It’s that your third brother is not really a Ji family member,” Old Madam Meng came over with the support of Eldest Madam. Ji.
Old Madam Meng rarely visited the Ji family, even though they often invited her. She saw herself as the older sister of Old Master Ji and Old Madam Ji, being slightly older than Old Master Ji.
When Old Madam Ji first mentioned Old Lady Lin’s words to Old Madam Meng, Old Madam Meng had a premonition.
Even though Old Madam Meng hadn’t seen Old Lady Lin in person, she sensed that Old Lady Lin was scheming. Such scheming was hard to hide from Old Madam Meng.
In her revolutionary days, Old Madam Meng relied on her keen observations. If she were easily deceived, she wouldn’t have survived to this day.
“So… what exactly is going on?” Old Master Ji couldn’t understand why his wife had called so many people over to say that the youngest son wasn’t a Ji family member. Old Master Ji looked at Old Madam Meng, “Elder sister, what’s the matter?”
“What else could it be? Your current youngest son isn’t your biological child. He was swapped when you picked him up.” Old Madam Meng said. “The Lin family wasn’t good to your biological son, which led to suspicions. The Lin family deliberately came to your house to give you a heads-up, letting you know that they were kind-hearted and didn’t want to disturb your life, which is why they informed you in advance.”
“How could this be?” Old Master Ji was stunned. “If he’s not my son, then my granddaughter…”
“Of course, she’s not your granddaughter either!” Old Madam Meng said coldly. “Are you saying that you would give up your biological son for a granddaughter with no blood relation?”

Don’t worry Grandpa you still have a granddaughter. A very cute and slightly too obedient one.
I understand why the MC isn’t keen on acknowledging the Ji family but I hope he does. The little girl deserves caring relatives. And the ex-wife at this point is just a newly married in outside in their relatives home. The earlier he recognises his bio family the easier it will be to stomp that bish into the ground.
