Public Revelation Part 4
At that moment, Ji Zeyan came over with some people. Old Master Ji and Old Madam Ji didn’t come along. They didn’t want to see the Lin family, feeling that they were too much to deal with.
Lin Chenghai quickly went to open the door. “Who are you?”
“My surname is Ji. Pack your things, I’m taking you to another place,” Ji Zeyan said.
“Another place?” Old Lady Lin was puzzled.
“Yes, this house belongs to a relative who needs it back. This time, you’ll be going to a place where you can stay long-term,” Ji Zeyan said.
Hearing this, Old Lady Lin could only start packing. They were originally staying at someone else’s house, so they had to comply. Neither Old Lady Lin nor Lin Chenghai knew where Ji Zenan lived. The Ji family had discussed this matter yesterday and started taking action today.
No one told Ji Zenan about this. After all, Ji Zenan wasn’t really part of the Ji family. Moreover, Ji Zenan had exhausted most of his familial connections. He had been sent out of the Ji family home, and out of fear, he tried to get his daughter to please Old Master Ji.
It was precisely because Ji Zenan had a daughter while the Ji family hadn’t had one in several generations that he had become arrogant again.
Ji Zenan never gave his two older brothers any respect, especially his second brother. Ji Zenan thought that since Ji Zefeng had grown up with their parents, he had already enjoyed enough parental love, and Ji Zeyan had followed Old Madam Meng for many years before reuniting with Old Master Ji.
Old Master and Old Madam Ji both felt somewhat guilty towards Ji Zeyan. Old Master Ji regretted not being there for his eldest son, and Old Madam Ji felt bad for being with Ji Zeyan’s biological father.
This led to Ji Zenan treating his second brother the worst, though he was still somewhat afraid of his eldest brother. Because of Ji Zenan’s behavior, his two brothers could never like him. When they found out he wasn’t biologically related, they accepted it as fact.
Ji Zeyan directly took Old Lady Lin and Lin Chenghai to Ji Zenan’s house. It was a workday, but Ji Zenan wasn’t at work. He often skipped work despite being a small leader at the factory, delegating tasks to others.
“What’s going on?” Old Lady Lin was puzzled. Wasn’t someone living here?
“Big brother.” Ji Zenan was also confused. What was his big brother doing?
“I’m not your big brother. This is your real big brother.” Ji Zeyan pointed at Lin Chenghai. “You’re not my real brother; you were switched by your real mother.”
“No, it’s not true.” Old Lady Lin panicked. She never expected to meet her second son under these circumstances.
Old Lady Lin never intended to disrupt her second son’s life. She wanted him to continue living grandly in Rongcheng City. She hoped to bring her other two sons to work in the city so that the whole family could reunite in Rongcheng City.
“Don’t listen to Lin Chengshan, he’s lying to get his wife back…”
“Lin Chengshan never came to us with this story. He doesn’t even know about our family.” Ji Zeyan said.
“He doesn’t know?” Old Lady Lin was stunned.
“If you hadn’t come to our house saying he wanted to cling to our family, we wouldn’t have investigated and discovered that he is our true family member, my real brother.” Ji Zeyan said.
“Big brother, no, what’s going on?” Ji Zenan gritted his teeth. “Even if you don’t like me, you shouldn’t make up such things. Do Mom and Dad know?”
“They both know.” Ji Zeyan replied.
“Doesn’t Dad want his granddaughter anymore?” Ji Zenan asked. He often bragged about his daughter to his two brothers. Old Master Ji really liked his granddaughter.
“You’re not a Ji, and neither is your daughter,” Ji Zeyan said. “Don’t worry, this house was given to you by Dad. It’s yours now. From now on, you’re on your own.”
The Ji family didn’t completely abandon Ji Zenan, mainly because he had married a girl from a well-matched family.
Ji Zenan’s exposure would mostly impact his wife, who could have married someone of equal status but ended up with a fake heir. How could she not be furious?
“Those things aren’t for you. They’re for your wife as compensation,” Ji Zeyan said.
“No, this can’t be.” Ji Zenan said. “Just because you say I’m not their son doesn’t make it true. I don’t believe it! Mom and Dad aren’t here, so I don’t believe it!”
“It doesn’t matter if you believe it or not.” Ji Zeyan looked at Old Lady Lin. “Our younger brother looks a lot like his real uncle, not the fake one.”
Old Lady Lin never imagined things would turn out like this. She thought everything was under her control, believing the Ji family wouldn’t be able to uncover Lin Chengshan’s true identity. She assumed the Ji family would never accept Lin Chengshan and would only acknowledge the son they had raised for so many years.
“Ji Zenan, your surname is Lin,” Ji Zeyan said.
“No, my surname is Ji!” Ji Zenan could never admit that his surname was Lin. He considered himself part of the Ji family, not the Lin family.
From the start, Ji Zenan felt disdain towards Old Lady Lin and Lin Chenghai.
“Of course, we won’t force you to change your surname, but you are indeed not a member of the Ji family,” Ji Zeyan said. “The news has already been published in the newspaper today.”
“Today?” Ji Zenan’s eyes widened.
“Yes, today, not tomorrow,” Ji Zeyan replied. “Don’t bother running to our house now; everything is already settled. Take good care of your biological mother and brother. From now on, don’t come to our house anymore.”
After saying this, Ji Zeyan left.
Ji Zenan couldn’t believe the reality. He turned to look at Old Lady Lin.
“Get out, both of you get out!” Ji Zenan’s eyes were bloodshot. He wanted to find his parents, Old Master and Old Madam Ji. He believed he was their biological son. If they thought he was useless or had made many mistakes, he could change. He couldn’t bear being treated this way.
“Son, what he said is true,” Old Lady Lin realized.
This matter was already a done deal, irreversible. Old Lady Lin could only think of clinging to Ji Zenan.
If Ji Zenan kicked them out, they would have nowhere to stay, either sleeping on the streets or spending money on a hotel. Old Lady Lin didn’t want to spend money on a hotel; she wanted to stay with her second son.
“You were young at the time and don’t remember. I genuinely wanted you to have a good life, which is why I sent you to the Ji family,” Old Lady Lin said. “I never expected them to find out…”
“You’re not my mother. Get out, get out!” Ji Zenan refused to believe it. “Both of you get out! I have parents; you’re not my mother, and he’s not my brother.”
Ji Zenan pushed Old Lady Lin and Lin Chenghai out. Both Old Lady Lin and Lin Chenghai were country folk, accustomed to hard farm work and quite strong. Old Lady Lin didn’t want to leave, and Lin Chenghai stood his ground.
“Get out quickly; I need to find my parents,” Ji Zenan gritted his teeth.
Ji Zenan knew that if he wasn’t a member of the Ji family, he wouldn’t receive any benefits, and life would become even more difficult. After he and his wife moved out of the Ji family home, people started to see him as less significant, which is why he had his daughter try to win over Mr. Ji.
“Fine, we’ll leave for now and come back to see you another day,” Old Lady Lin thought, knowing where Ji Zenan lived, they could come back later.
Old Lady Lin noticed that Ji Zenan’s house was large and well-furnished with top-quality furniture and appliances. She believed that even without the Ji family’s support, Ji Zenan should still be able to help his own family.
Since her second son was angry, they decided to retreat for now and return tomorrow.
Old Lady Lin had made up her mind that if the Ji family couldn’t be relied upon, they would cling to her second son. She never expected the Ji family to deny her claims or investigate Lin Chengshan. She certainly didn’t expect Lin Chengshan to resemble his biological uncle so closely.
When she went to the Ji family, she checked the photos to confirm that Lin Chengshan didn’t look like the Ji family, which gave her the confidence to make those claims. Plans often don’t work out as intended, and although it had been many years, her biological son was now in his thirties, living a good life, so it wasn’t a complete loss.
The Ji family considered reporting to the police, but Lin Chengshan’s biological uncle had already passed away, and Lin Chengshan was their biological child. Without direct evidence, it would be difficult. If it went to court, the Lin family might insist that Lin Chengshan was their biological son, complicating matters.
Instead of sending Old Lady Lin and her family to Ji Zenan, the Ji family decided to let them torment each other. Old Lady Lin had seen the prosperity of the city and didn’t want to return to the countryside.
“Mom,” Lin Chenghai looked at his mother.
“Let’s go. We need to call your father and tell him what’s happening here,” Old Lady Lin was a bit scared. How could the Ji family be so capable, and how could Lin Chengshan resemble his biological uncle so closely?
After all these years, why correct the mistake? Why return things to their original state?
After the Lin family left Ji Zenan’s house, Ji Zenan quickly ran to the Ji family home. Upon reaching the door, he picked up his daughter. At the Ji family home, he frantically rang the doorbell.
“Open the door, open the door! I’m back. Open the door!” Ji Zenan was anxious. He wanted to talk to his parents, promising he could change his bad habits. At his age, they shouldn’t scare him like this. He was their biological son, and that fact couldn’t be changed. “Dad, your precious granddaughter is here to see you. Open the door!”
