Chapter 69.2 Lu Fei, hurry up and come treat your sister-in-law!

Upon hearing Mu Changye’s words, Lu Fei couldn’t help but feel speechless.

Was this still the same man who overwhelmed Shanghai?

His intelligence seemed to be average at best!

I had tried so hard to avoid getting involved, but now he was pushing his daughter onto me. I… can’t really refuse, can I?

“I’ll give it a try!”

Lu Fei couldn’t refuse Mu Changye’s request.

Reluctantly, Lu Fei agreed to give it a shot.

After speaking, Lu Fei stood up and headed toward the second floor.

As he climbed the stairs, Lu Fei couldn’t help but silently criticize in his mind.

I’ll just go up and take a look. If this little brat causes any trouble, I’ll leave immediately.

These were supposed to be days of rest, but Mu Changye had called him here to run around.

Upon reaching the second floor, Lu Fei knocked on the door.

After a moment of silence, there was still no response from inside.

Lu Fei knocked on the door again and spoke, “It’s me. Patriarch asked me to come up and talk to you. If you don’t want to open the door, I’ll leave first!”

Lu Fei had no intention of wasting his time with Mu Ruoxue’s nonsense.

After waiting for a while, Lu Fei noticed that there was still no movement inside, so he was about to turn around and leave.

But before he could take a few steps, suddenly, the tightly closed door swung open.

Mu Ruoxue stood there, wearing a silk nightgown that clung to her body.

Her legs were bare, and she wore a pair of small white rabbit slippers.

Looking at Lu Fei standing outside the door, unmoving, Mu Ruoxue said expressionlessly, “Come in!”

“If you have something to say, just say it!”

Seeing that Mu Ruoxue wanted him to enter the room, Lu Fei had no intention of going inside.

He was supposed to persuade someone’s daughter, not to enter their daughter’s chamber.

How can there be such a thing?

If Mu Changye were to hear any strange sounds coming from inside, Lu Fei wouldn’t be able to explain himself no matter how eloquent he was!

Seeing that Lu Fei was still rooted to the spot, Mu Ruoxue lightly bit her teeth.

She furrowed her delicate eyebrows, glaring at Lu Fei, and threatened, “If you don’t come in, I’ll cling to your legs and accuse you of bullying me!”

“Hiss…”

Upon hearing this, Lu Fei couldn’t help but inhale sharply.

Wow, this little loli is indeed quite cunning!

Lu Fei had to admit that he was defenseless against Mu Ruoxue’s move.

Glancing at the earnest expression on Mu Ruoxue’s face, Lu Fei took a step forward and walked inside.

Closing the door behind him, Mu Ruoxue sat in her small hanging chair, crossing her legs.

Keeping her head lowered, Mu Ruoxue just looked at Lu Fei and remained silent.

Inside Mu Ruoxue’s chamber, Lu Fei took a moment to observe the interior decoration.

Wow, everything was so pink and tender, and there were even some valuable-looking paintings hanging on the walls.

Further inside, there was a small balcony with excellent natural lighting, adorned with lush green plants on both sides.

Anyone living here would have a good mood just by looking at such scenery every day.

It seems that Mu Changye really cares about Mu Ruoxue!

The level of attention to detail in the room’s decoration was remarkable. It would be impossible to achieve such a result without putting in a lot of effort.

The two of them remained in the room, and the atmosphere remained silent for three minutes.

Lu Fei frowned as he watched Mu Ruoxue, who remained silent and lost in thought. He felt a bit puzzled and impatient, so he said, “What’s the matter? If you’re not going to say it, I’ll leave!”

Feeling confused, Lu Fei turned to leave.

Mu Ruoxue had threatened him to come inside and now she wasn’t saying anything.

What was going on here?

If Mu Ruoxue wanted to play games, she should go bother her own father. Lu Fei wasn’t in the mood to entertain her antics.

“Are you going to marry Jiang Wenying?”

Finally, just as Lu Fei was about to turn around, Mu Ruoxue suddenly raised her head and asked him.

“Do you still need to ask? Wasn’t it already decided yesterday?”

Upon hearing Lu Fei’s words, even though she already knew deep down about the matter, her eyes couldn’t help but reveal unhappiness…

“Lu Fei, do you like Jiang Wenying?”

“Let me tell you, she’s a bad woman. First, she seduced Lin Ran, and now she’s seducing you.”

“She’s cold and unkind, not good at all.”

Before Lu Fei could say anything, Mu Ruoxue started listing a bunch of flaws about Jiang Wenying.

Hearing Mu Ruoxue’s words, Lu Fei suddenly understood. So, Mu Ruoxue didn’t want him to marry Jiang Wenying!

If that’s the case, he should respond accordingly and say something that Mu Ruoxue would like to hear.

Helplessly, Lu Fei said, “Whether I like her or not, what does it matter? Your father has already arranged this marriage.”

As he spoke, Lu Fei continued with a shrug, looking at Mu Ruoxue, saying, “Speaking of which, this was all your idea.”

“Wasn’t it you who suggested to the patriarch that Jiang Wenying should marry me?”

Upon hearing Lu Fei’s words, Mu Ruoxue’s beautiful eyes dimmed.

Yes!

It was her idea to have Jiang Wenying marry Lu Fei.

But…

Now she didn’t want Lu Fei to marry Jiang Wenying!

“But… but I didn’t know back then!”

Upon hearing Mu Ruoxue’s words, Lu Fei became confused.

“You didn’t know what?”

For a moment, Mu Ruoxue realized that her deeply hidden secret had been exposed.

Her cheeks turned slightly red, and she tightened her crossed legs a little more. She mumbled, “Anyway, I don’t want you to marry Jiang Wenying. She doesn’t like you either!”

Upon hearing Mu Ruoxue’s words, Lu Fei nodded and said, “I know!”

Lu Fei’s response surprised Mu Ruoxue this time. She thought Lu Fei would say something like, “Even if she doesn’t like me, it doesn’t matter. As long as I can marry a beautiful woman.”

With widened eyes, Mu Ruoxue stared at Lu Fei and asked, “If you know, then why are you still marrying Jiang Wenying?”

Hearing Mu Ruoxue’s question, Lu Fei could only smile helplessly and replied, “Isn’t that coming back to the same point?”

“How can I refuse when it’s already been decided by your father?”

“I’m just a follower!”

Lu Fei said, shrugging his shoulders to express his helplessness.

“But, where there’s a will, there’s a way. Yesterday evening, Jiang Wenying even invited me to a hotel to discuss this matter!”

Mu Ruoxue only caught the latter part of his sentence, and her emotions started to intensify. “What! You went to a hotel with her?”

Lu Fei quickly covered Mu Ruoxue’s mouth.

Although he didn’t understand why he reacted so strongly and why his actions were so instinctive, he acted faster than his consciousness.

“Keep your voice down!”

Looking at Lu Fei’s anxious expression and their close proximity, Mu Ruoxue’s heart raced nervously.

The feeling of doing something mischievous with Lu Fei was exhilarating!

It was the first time she had ever felt such anticipation and longing to be with him.

“Can you listen to what I have to say?” Lu Fei scolded, giving Mu Ruoxue a stern look as she daydreamed.

“Can you stop making noise?” Lu Fei asked, covering Mu Ruoxue’s small mouth and shaking her head gently.

“Mhmm…” Mu Ruoxue snapped out of her daze and quickly nodded.

The warmth of her breath tickled Lu Fei’s fingertips, making his fingers tingle.

He finally released his hand that was covering Mu Ruoxue’s mouth.

“We went to the hotel to sign an agreement. In simple terms, Jiang Wenying and I are entering into a fake marriage. It’s just a superficial marital relationship without any real significance,” Lu Fei explained slowly, revealing the details of the agreement he signed with Jiang Wenying.

“Really?” Mu Ruoxue’s eyes, which had been dull, instantly regained their sparkle. She looked at Lu Fei with excitement.

“Why would I lie to you?” Lu Fei replied, a bit annoyed.

“That’s great, that’s great!” Mu Ruoxue exclaimed with joy, hugging Lu Fei and bouncing around.

Although Lu Fei and Jiang Wenying were still going to get married, it was only a sham marriage between them.

She still had a chance!

Feeling the silk sleepwear against his body, Lu Fei couldn’t help but think to himself, “This is quite stimulating.”

Clearing his throat, Lu Fei pushed Mu Ruoxue away and said calmly, “Why are you so excited about whether or not I marry Jiang Wenying?”

Upon hearing Lu Fei’s words, Mu Ruoxue felt a surge of defiance and wanted to say something, but her words took a different turn at the tip of her tongue.

“It’s none of your business. I’m just happy, is that not allowed?” she retorted, reverting back to her playful and proud demeanor.

She folded her hands on her chest and talked in a coquettish and arrogant voice.

Lu Fei was accustomed to Mu Ruoxue’s behavior by now.

Suddenly, they heard Mu Changye’s voice from outside the door, asking, “Lu Fei, are you in Ruoxue’s room? What are you doing in there?”

The moment she heard the voice, Mu Ruoxue’s heart skipped a beat.

As if she had realized something, she clutched her clothes.

Being alone in a room with Lu Fei in this state would not bode well for him if her father found out.

With this thought, Mu Ruoxue became nervous.

However, as she caught a glimpse of Lu Fei’s calm expression, her anxious mood seemed to gradually ease.

Faced with this situation, Lu Fei instinctively knew how to handle it. He had already formed an excuse for such circumstances.

In a calm voice, Lu Fei spoke, “Patriarch, I have already persuaded her. She will come down shortly!”

Hearing Lu Fei’s voice, Mu Changye didn’t think much of it and accepted the explanation.

Mu Changye’s mind was filled with the thought that his daughter was finally coming out.

Without much consideration, a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

He turned and went downstairs, thinking that Lu Fei was still helping his daughter with her emotions, and he shouldn’t disturb them.

“You… turn around first, I need to change my clothes!”

Mu Ruoxue said, unsure if her father had left yet. She had to get out as quickly as possible, or else her father would surely suspect something.

“Hmph… Who cares if you change clothes?” Lu Fei replied, seeing Mu Ruoxue’s nervous face. He promptly turned around, showing no intention of peeking.

Perhaps stimulated by Lu Fei’s words, Mu Ruoxue, with a defiant tone, responded in a low voice, “If you dare, go ahead and look. I don’t mind!”

After speaking, Mu Ruoxue suddenly blushed, seemingly realizing what she had just said.

Lu Fei maintained his composed expression as he faced the wall, but he couldn’t help but wonder what Mu Ruoxue was doing behind him.

There were constant rustling and fumbling sounds coming from her direction, which puzzled him.

He couldn’t understand why it would take so many clothes to change into.

Wasn’t it just a matter of putting on one outfit?

Yet, Lu Fei somehow managed to discern that Mu Ruoxue had a lot of clothes. He couldn’t explain why he could differentiate the sound of multiple garments being handled.

Perhaps it was because the sound of changing clothes was particularly loud?

That could be a possibility too!
