The dolphin’s reaction was exactly the same as when he had first been soothed.
Long-buried memories surged into Yu Jinxiao’s mind.
That tiny mouth, which couldn’t even be called a gaping maw, somehow gave him a strange, spine-chilling feeling.
Yu Jinxiao realized that this little troublemaker’s thoughts were indeed out of the ordinary—different from most people.
At least, when Yu Mingxi and Yu Yingze were young, they never had such strange ideas.
Wanting to take a bite out of a dolphin…
Most kids would find dolphins cute and want to pet them.
But in Yu Yuanyuan’s eyes, was the dolphin actually food?
Yu Jinxiao suddenly remembered she had once said she loved eating fish.
“Dad… Daddy!” The little troublemaker’s voice snapped Yu Jinxiao out of his thoughts.
He looked up, only for his temples to begin throbbing in pain.
Yu Yuanyuan, the enthusiastic eater, had sauce all over her mouth, making her lips bright red. Her hands were equally covered, and she was pointlessly tearing a piece of beef into strips.
How could a child make such a mess while eating? Yu Jinxiao was bewildered.
In contrast, his two sons next to her were a picture of cleanliness.
Yu Mingxi, with his immaculate appearance and expert use of knife and fork, clearly took after him.
Yu Yingze wasn’t as skilled with utensils, but at least he wasn’t grabbing food with his hands or getting sauce all over them.
Looking at the difference between them, Yu Jinxiao couldn’t help but feel that Yu Yuanyuan looked like she had just wrestled a cow and emerged from the battle in a chaotic, amusing state.
“Daddy, the food here is so yummy,” Yu Yuanyuan praised as she shoved more into her mouth, “Yuanyuan loves it so much.”
As expected.
Yu Jinxiao wasn’t surprised at all.
Was there anything this little dumpling didn’t like to eat?
Since they started eating together, Yu Jinxiao had never seen her reject any food.
Yu Mingxi, while elegantly eating, would occasionally adjust Yu Yuanyuan’s bib, preventing her from getting food on her clothes.
With his eldest son around, most of Yu Jinxiao’s stress faded, and he could focus on watching Gao Zhou’s video.
As he watched his daughter win the exact prizes she wanted four times in a row, even Yu Jinxiao, who had never believed in luck or superstition, began to waver.
Was it just luck?
Once could be dismissed as coincidence, as luck. But four times? Winning exactly what she wanted each time—this was too unbelievable.
For some reason, Yu Jinxiao’s mind drifted to what had happened with Sun Cheng.
Some people buy lottery tickets all their lives and only win fifteen bucks, while Sun Cheng had been gifted a ticket and won 10 million just like that, effortlessly gaining a fortune.
What was most intriguing was what happened the night before.
If you did the math, it was about an hour before the lottery numbers were drawn when Sun Cheng mentioned needing money. Yu Yuanyuan had confidently declared that she could help.
The very next day, Sun Cheng won 10 million.
Yu Jinxiao’s gaze shifted from his phone, now thoughtfully observing Yu Yuanyuan as she continued devouring her meal.
Could it be that this little girl was truly a lucky charm?
“Daddy, Yuanyuan is full and wants to wash her hands,” the little one hiccupped, raising her dirty hands, “So messy.”
Yu Jinxiao frowned. You didn’t notice the mess while eating, but now it bothers you?
And this wasn’t just any kind of mess…
Her entire hands were covered in meat juice and sauce. The area around her mouth had turned a different color, making her look like a little animal that had just been rescued from a mud puddle.
“Come on, I’ll take you,” Yu Jinxiao said, putting his phone away and stretching out his arm to lift her off the chair, making sure to keep as much distance between himself and the little troublemaker as possible.
Yu Yuanyuan giggled, clearly aiming her sauce-covered hands at his suit.
