Dejected from failing to kick the ball, Yuanyuan gave up and pointed towards a nearby flowerbed, wanting to explore.
Gao Zhou quickly pulled out a small watch and strapped it onto her wrist. “Miss Yuanyuan, you can play, but you have to wear this, okay?”
“What’s this?” Yuanyuan curiously raised her hand to inspect the gadget.
It was a children’s GPS tracking watch that Gao Zhou had specially prepared overnight. He had set it up so that if Yuanyuan wandered more than 300 meters away, an alarm would go off, and the watch itself would emit a loud siren. Gao Zhou could also use it to communicate with her directly if needed.
But since explaining the technical details would be too complicated for Yuanyuan, Gao Zhou just smiled and said, “It’s a princess watch. You mustn’t lose it, okay? Wear it properly.”
“Okay, okay!” Yuanyuan nodded eagerly.
Now confident in her safety, Gao Zhou allowed her to go off and play.
The grass was clean, the environment pleasant, making it the perfect place for the energetic little one to run around.
For some reason, Gao Zhou felt like he was more like a caretaker walking a…cat than supervising a child.
Yu Jinxiao initially seemed worried, but after Gao Zhou showed him the slowly moving tracking display on his phone, he relaxed.
Gao Zhou, with a mischievous grin, pressed another button. Suddenly, a video feed appeared on his phone, but the image was wildly shaky.
The watch also had a live video feed function! Yuanyuan’s little hands were flailing wildly as she ran around, making the video screen bob up and down in all directions.
Yu Jinxiao watched for less than a minute before he felt dizzy, his expression darkening. “You keep an eye on her. Don’t let her get lost.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Yu!” Gao Zhou said with full confidence in his thorough preparations.
Not far from the grassy area was a wall of beautiful roses, their pink petals falling softly to the ground with the breeze. Yuanyuan, dressed in a white jacket and light blue jeans, happily chased after butterflies nearby.
While running around, she suddenly noticed a striking figure standing in the sunlight.
A slender yet tall figure leaned casually against a large tree, his sharp features illuminated by the sunlight as he focused intently on adjusting his gloves.
The thin black leather gloves fit snugly around his wrists, complementing his simple yet elegant attire: a crisp white shirt and well-tailored black trousers.
Although the outfit was ordinary, on Shen Ji, it looked like something straight out of a comic book—a true handsome boy come to life.
No, it wasn’t just the clothes; the person made the outfit shine.
“Brother Shen Ji!” Yuanyuan’s voice practically cracked with excitement as she shouted his name, her joy overwhelming.
Recognizing the little voice immediately, Shen Ji looked up in surprise, just in time to be hugged around the waist by the excited little ball of energy.
Yuanyuan looked up at him with her big round eyes, grinning from ear to ear.
In that moment, Shen Ji felt a gentle breeze pass by, his hair tousled slightly. The temperature, the air, the sunlight—it all seemed just right.
“What are you doing here?” Shen Ji asked, instinctively pulling back his hands before realizing he was wearing gloves, and relaxed.
Yuanyuan tugged at his shirt, smiling adorably. “I came for a pinic with Daddy and my brothers!”
“Picnic?” Shen Ji corrected her pronunciation with a slight frown. “Then why are you here all by yourself?”
“Daddy and brother are playing soccer. I’m not good at it, so I came to see the floers,” Yuanyuan explained with her usual baby-like pronunciation, which Shen Ji, despite the garbled words, managed to understand.
“And what about you, brother Shen Ji? Why are you alone?” Yuanyuan, with her pure and innocent nature, didn’t give the question much thought. But right after she asked, she noticed Shen Ji looking over at a tree not far away.
