Yu Jinxiao and the uncle reacted completely differently. Yu Jinxiao glanced at the three boys, battered and bruised, and calmly asked, “Did you really hit them?”
“Their injuries have nothing to do with me. They fell from the tree themselves,” Yu Yingze said, arms crossed as he glanced disdainfully at the boys. “I did hit each of them once, but it was just a light tap.”
“You sure know how to dodge the blame!” The previously ignored man suddenly jumped in. “My son says you hit them! How can you deny it?”
Annoyed by the man’s loud voice, Yu Jinxiao frowned, his gaze piercing with distaste. “And kids can’t lie? If you’re so sure my son hit them, fine, we’ll get to the bottom of this and find the truth. But if these injuries aren’t my son’s doing, I’ll sue you for defamation, and I’ll hire the best lawyer in Jiangcheng to make sure you pay for it.”
The best lawyer in Jiangcheng?
The man was taken aback by the audacity. He stuttered for a moment, unsure of himself, before mumbling, “D-don’t think you can scare me.”
“Good. I don’t want you to be scared,” Yu Jinxiao said, his lips curling into a cold, mocking smile. “But we will find out what really happened.”
The man’s wife tugged at his sleeve, whispering, “Something’s not right. I think I recognize this guy.”
“You know him?” The man narrowed his eyes in frustration.
The woman didn’t answer immediately. She pulled out her phone and scrolled through it before showing her husband a news article. “It’s him!”
Yu Jinxiao.
The man stared at the name as a wave of cold terror shot up his spine, paralyzing his thoughts.
He may never have seen Yu Jinxiao in person or even a photo of him, but the name alone carried enough weight to send chills through his entire body.
He never imagined he’d have the misfortune of crossing paths with someone as powerful as Yu Jinxiao. His neck felt like an ice-cold blade was already pressed against it.
“So, have you decided? Do you still want to insist my son hit yours, or would you rather just find out the truth?” Yu Jinxiao asked, his patience clearly wearing thin, his brow furrowed with irritation.
He had only come out to call Yu Yingze and Yuanyuan back for water. The two of them had been playing outside for half the day, and it wasn’t healthy to go that long without drinking anything. Yu Jinxiao had originally wanted to sent Gao Zhou, but after getting bored, he decided to come out himself. And now, he was stuck dealing with this.
The man’s resolve crumbled. His whole attitude shifted dramatically as he slapped his three sons across the head. “You little brats, tell me the truth! Was it really them who hit you, or did you fall from the tree?”
The boys, startled by the sudden slaps, broke down instantly. “We fell from the tree! We fell, waahhh…”
The man’s face changed in an instant, his demeanor turning sheepish. With a forced smile, he apologized profusely to Yu Jinxiao. “I’m really sorry, Mr. Yu. These boys were just being mischievous. They didn’t mean any harm to your son.”
The crowd murmured quietly, some of them initially convinced that Yu Jinxiao had twisted the truth, using his status to bully others into submission.
“Daddy, look! There’s some of brother’s fur up in the tree!” Yuanyuan suddenly ran up and grabbed Yu Jinxiao’s hand, pointing excitedly to a broken branch higher up in the tree.

Hey everyone! I hope you're enjoying what I'm translating.
