Who knew telling the truth could make someone angry? Little Yu Yuanyuan couldn’t figure it out.
Her nose tingled, and she couldn’t help but let out a big sneeze.
Her entire body shook, and the air from her sneeze blew the cat fur right back into her face—
A second later, she inhaled a nose full of cat fur and sneezed four or five more times in a row.
“This brat pulled my fur earlier. Hmph, I don’t like her,” the fat orange cat muttered after being coddled by the security guard, swaggering back to Yuanyuan. “I hate you.”
With a plop, the cat sat down and peed all over the little girl’s shoes.
“Ahhh!” The girl screamed, lifting her foot to kick, but the security guard quickly scooped the cat into his arms.
Teacher Su hurriedly comforted her and handed the cat back to the guard, then took the girl to change her shoes and socks.
During class, the girl kept glaring at Yuanyuan angrily, as if blaming her for saying the cat didn’t like her on purpose.
Sitting in the front row, Yuanyuan kept feeling a cold breeze on the back of her head.
After surviving the morning classes, lunchtime finally came, Yuanyuan’s favorite part of the day. Wen Zifei silently trailed behind, holding her tray.
Even though Wen Zifei had been teased by Chu Qi earlier, no matter how irritated he was, he still did what a good attendant should. After all, he didn’t want anyone to laugh at him for going back on his word.
“If I remember correctly, someone said that if that cat could listen to Yuanyuan, they’d be her servant for another week,” Chu Qi said casually, poking holes in Wen Zifei’s pretense of obedience.
It wasn’t long before Gu Beiyan realized that Wen Zifei had a bet he hadn’t yet owned up to.
“That’s right! You owe Yuanyuan two weeks of servitude!”
Wen Zifei’s face darkened. Ignoring them, he pretended not to hear and diligently followed behind Yuanyuan, holding her tray like a model attendant.
“I want this, and that, and this one, too. Thank you, Auntie,” Yuanyuan said sweetly, pointing eagerly through the glass at several of her favorite dishes.
Her empty tray suddenly felt much heavier.
Wen Zifei’s wrist began to ache, and he impatiently asked, “Can you even eat all of this?”
Yuanyuan stared at the tray for a moment and misunderstood his question. “Alright, Yuanyuan will eat a little less today then.”
Wen Zifei: “??? This is your idea of eating less?”
After setting Yuanyuan’s tray down, Wen Zifei picked two dishes for himself and went to sit with someone else.
Yuanyuan, like a little talking machine, filled the entire table with her chatter alongside Gu Beiyan, while Chu Qi quietly ate her meal.
“Yuanyuan, be careful while eating~” the girl from earlier, who had been peed on by the cat, suddenly spoke up from the next table.
“Why? Are there bugs in the food?” Yuanyuan froze, startled, with rice still stuck at the corner of her mouth.
Chu Qi, ever the master of sarcasm, immediately recognized the girl’s passive-aggressive tone and stopped eating to listen.
“Because you like to lie, your nose will grow long! Once it grows long, it might dip into the oil on your plate! Hahaha~” The girl laughed and pulled a few faces at Yuanyuan, clearly proud of herself.
Yuanyuan, completely missing the insult, continued shoveling food into her mouth. “Huh? Why would my nose grow if I lied?”
Just as Chu Qi was about to step in to counterattack, Yuanyuan interrupted.
“My mom said so! She told me liars’ noses get longer!”
Yuanyuan thought for a moment, then smiled sweetly like an angel. “But Yuanyuan’s nose didn’t get longer, so that means Yuanyuan didn’t lie.”
Whoa, what a perfect way to fight fire with fire.
