There was only one last sip of milk left. Yu Yingze was just about to finish his meal and head out to greet his friends.
But he was one step too late…
That tiny delay was all it took for Yu Yuanyuan’s shout to pierce the skies, catching him completely off guard.
Yu Yingze nearly choked, coughing for a good while, not even bothering to wipe his mouth as he rushed outside.
All his friends were already dressed and standing at the gate, their expressions quite colorful.
But instead of looking speechless, they seemed more pleased and proud.
After all, the little girl’s shout had clearly been a compliment—she was praising how handsome they were. And who doesn’t like being complimented?
Especially when it’s so genuine and heartfelt.
Yu Yuanyuan wasn’t just spouting empty flattery either.
Everyone living in this villa community was either wealthy or influential, part of the absolute upper echelon.
Everything about their lives, from clothing to food, was meticulously managed and arranged.
For example, the boys standing there were all dressed smartly, their hair neatly styled, each exuding energy and charm.
And to Yu Yuanyuan, that was the very definition of “handsome.”
They spoke politely and gently, ticking all the boxes for what she considered a true gentleman.
“What are you yelling about?” Yu Yingze, still coughing, hurried over. The little girl was peeking out from behind the door, sneaking glances at his friends.
“Yingze, who’s this? She’s so cute!” his friends eagerly asked.
Yu Yuanyuan was wearing a white T-shirt paired with loose denim pants, her hair tied in a ponytail with the ends slightly curled on her shoulders.
Her skin was as white as snow, making her wide, innocent eyes stand out even more—like a little kitten staring blankly at everyone.
By the fence bloomed light pink roses, and Yu Yuanyuan poked her head out beside them. Her cautious, sneaky behavior didn’t diminish her presence; if anything, it only made her more eye-catching.
The boys subconsciously reached for their pockets—
Oh no, no phones! Otherwise, they’d be snapping pictures of this adorable scene right now!
“Well…” Yu Yingze hesitated to call her his “sister.” The word still carried a certain resistance in his heart. “Ah, don’t mind her. I’ll go change clothes; you guys wait at the usual spot.”
With that, Yu Yingze dashed back inside.
He changed clothes, combed his hair, and emerged looking sharp and refreshed—a brand-new boy!
Eager to head out, Yu Yingze was halfway out the door when he noticed Yu Yuanyuan looking just as eager to join him. Suddenly, it was like his excitement deflated.
“You want to come with me?” He glanced outside, feeling conflicted. “We won’t be accommodating you. We’ve got our own games to play.”
“It’s fine! Yuanyuan can play anything!” The little girl had no idea what he really meant.
Yu Yingze was worried that taking her along would slow him down, but he also remembered his promise to his brother to take care of her.
If Yu Yuanyuan didn’t want to go, it wouldn’t be his problem anymore!
“Are you sure you want to come? It might be boring,” he tried one last time to dissuade her.
The little girl puffed out her chest and held out her chubby hand. “Playing with Second Brother will never be boring. Second Brother is amazing!”
The sudden praise made Yu Yingze’s head spin.
He had never been showered with such sincere compliments before. Without even thinking, he reached out and took her hand. “Well… okay, but you have to listen to me.”
“Yuanyuan is super obedient!” she declared, her expression screaming, Don’t worry, I’ve got this.
And so, the two little figures—one tall, one short—held hands as they walked out of the yard together.
