How could anyone skip a meal?!
They say, “A meal is as essential as iron and steel,” and even ten minutes without food makes one hungry!
Yu Yuanyuan, with a slight worry about her father in her heart, picked up her pink bowl and cartoon spoon, and started eating voraciously, almost burying her face in the bowl.
Another mild dish.
Yu Yingze hadn’t had much appetite, but seeing her eat so heartily, he ended up eating an extra bowl too.
“Is Daddy still not coming down for dinner?” Yu Yuanyuan asked, her mouth still dotted with grains of rice as she voiced her concern.
Yu Mingxi knew his father’s habits all too well. When their father worked, he would block out everything and didn’t want to be disturbed.
“Dad’s busy. Why don’t I rest with you for a while, and we can look at your picture book together?”
“Okay,” the little one nodded, sliding off her chair like a cat, and started climbing upstairs on her own.
But instead of returning to her bedroom, she headed for the study.
Through the door, she could hear muffled voices. It was hard to make out what they were saying.
Yu Yuanyuan poked her tiny finger into the gap in the door, tilting her head to listen carefully, trying to find the right moment to talk to her dad.
“Take him to the beach later. He dared to betray us, so he has to pay. Make him disappear,” Yu Jinxiao’s voice was cold, a tone Yu Yuanyuan had never heard before.
The beach? Disappear!?
Those simple words struck a chord with the little girl. Instantly, she remembered the frightening dream she had the night before.
In her dream, her dad had taken a man to the beach and threw him into the sea.
The man didn’t die but came back to hurt her dad.
Just thinking about the scary scenes from her dream filled Yu Yuanyuan with fear.
All of this was happening because her dad had done something bad. That man would come back for revenge!
Wasn’t that how it always played out in the dramas she had secretly watched at the orphanage?
In those TV shows, villains always met a bad end after doing something wrong.
No! She didn’t want her dad to get hurt!
Yu Yuanyuan was just about to push open the door when she remembered how stern her dad had been before, never listening to her.
She couldn’t tell him about the dream, and he probably wouldn’t listen to her anyway…
What should she do?
“Aunt Chen, is Mr. Yu upstairs?” A voice echoed from the stairs—Gao Zhou had arrived.
Like a little cat, Yu Yuanyuan quickly darted behind a large floor vase, hiding herself.
Knock, knock, knock.
“Come in,” her father’s voice, sounding extremely irritated, rang out.
Once Gao Zhou was inside, he closed the door immediately.
Yu Yuanyuan only caught the last sentence: “Are you ready? We’re leaving now.”
Dad and Uncle Gao were heading out!
Her little mind raced with instinct as she dashed downstairs. Yu Mingxi and Yu Yingze were already in their rooms, and the house staff were busy cleaning up the kitchen—no one noticed the round little figure darting out of the door.
Gao Zhou’s car was still parked at the entrance, the engine idling, ready to take Mr. Yu to his destination.
Yu Yuanyuan sneaked around to the back of the car, biting her finger as she tried to remember how Uncle Gao had opened the trunk. She reached out and pressed the same black button.
Pop!
The trunk opened!
With a mischievous grin, the little one climbed into the trunk, pulling on the door with all her strength until she finally managed to close it.
Within a minute, Gao Zhou and Yu Jinxiao were approaching. The car shook slightly as it started, driving toward an unknown destination.
It was pitch-black inside the trunk, her hands invisible even in front of her face.
She wasn’t particularly afraid of the dark. In fact, with the gentle rocking of the car, it felt like the perfect place for a nap.
She had no idea how long had passed, but just as she was about to drift off to sleep, the car stopped, and outside, she could hear the sound of waves crashing.

Hey everyone! I hope you're enjoying what I'm translating.
