When Wei Qi saw Wang Sasa, he was momentarily flustered.
Although he didn’t quite understand why he was flustered, he instinctively explained, “I brought my cousin to the bookstore, and we happened to run into Tan Yixuan.” As he spoke, his gaze subtly fell on Wang Sasa’s face, but when she looked back, he quickly averted his eyes.
Wang Sasa smiled faintly, not bothered by Wei Qi’s odd demeanor. She looked down at the short, plump child and said, “This must be Wei Bao, right?” She suddenly recalled a scene she had previously overlooked. Wei Qi and the female lead first met in a bookstore.
The female lead was an ordinary high school senior who worked hard and spent her free time reading and doing homework in a nearby bookstore. When she encountered Wei Qi, he was exhausted from dealing with his troublesome cousin.
Since a bookstore is a public place, noisy children are generally not welcome. The female lead was quite skilled at calming children and soon managed to soothe Wei Bao, which made Wei Qi view her in a new light.
Yes, it’s that simple.
Sometimes, love needs just one opportunity.
The female lead was naturally beautiful, but Tan Yixuan was not any less impressive! Thinking of this, Wang Sasa glanced at Tan Yixuan, their eyes meeting, and she was momentarily taken aback.
Tan Yixuan lowered her head slightly and asked, “Do I look alright in this outfit?”
What?
Wang Sasa was momentarily stunned, realizing that Tan Yixuan’s outfit was different from usual.
She had pinned up her bangs with a pearl hairpin, revealing a smooth and full forehead. Tan Yixuan had beautifully shaped eyebrows, slender like willow leaves, and beneath her light eyebrows were slightly elongated phoenix eyes. At this moment, her long lashes fluttered, showing her nervousness.
Tan Yixuan was nervous?
Wang Sasa’s lips curled into a broad smile as she praised, “Tan Yixuan, you look great in this outfit!”
Wang Sasa’s praise was sincere. Tan Yixuan was petite and delicate, wearing a white dress with straps, which is a popular look among boys.
There was a term that perfectly described her current aura—what was it?
Right, it’s “an innocent beauty”!
Wang Sasa clapped her hands and turned to Wei Qi, saying, “Wei Qi, don’t you think Tan Yixuan looks great in this outfit too?”
Wei Qi was momentarily stunned, glanced at Tan Yixuan, and nodded slightly.
Tan Yixuan was overjoyed by Wang Sasa’s compliment, but when she heard the latter part of the statement, her smile faded, and her expression grew slightly somber. Wang Sasa’s gaze shifted, and she quickly forced a smile.
Wang Sasa looked at the two of them and suddenly thought that Tan Yixuan and Wei Qi seemed like a perfect pair!
He, with his cold, proud, and aloof demeanor, was the tyrannical school bully.
She, with her outwardly delicate and inwardly strong nature, was the sweet and obedient fairy.
One was a fierce and unstoppable force, the other a pitiful victim…
Wang Sasa suddenly envisioned a hundred thousand words of a sweet campus romance novel, and in her excitement, she couldn’t help but cover her mouth and chuckle.
Tan Yixuan: “?”
Wei Qi: “?”
Suddenly, Wang Sasa felt her skirt being tugged. Looking down, she saw Wei Bao’s chubby little hand gripping her skirt, his plump face looking up as he asked, “Sister, are you Qiqi’s classmate?”
Hearing this, Wei Qi immediately lowered his voice and said through gritted teeth, “Hey!” He glanced quickly at Wang Sasa, a faint blush appearing on his face.
Wang Sasa patted Wei Bao’s head and, with a glint in her eye, said, “Yes, this sister here is also a classmate of your cousin Qiqi.”
Wei Bao indeed turned his little head towards Tan Yixuan. Tan Yixuan, unsure of how to handle a child, forced a stiff smile.
Wei Bao pouted and turned to Wang Sasa, stretching out his hand and saying, “Sister, hold me!”
Although Wei Bao was only three years old, he was already quite heavy. Wang Sasa glanced at his chubby body and was not very inclined to pick him up.
Wei Qi, unable to tolerate his lazy and greedy nature, as well as his tendency to cling to pretty girls, grit his teeth and warned, “Wei Bao, behave yourself!”
Wei Bao ignored him and stubbornly reached out to Wang Sasa.
Wang Sasa looked at Wei Bao and had a thought. She looked up at Wei Qi and asked, “Where are you planning to take Wei Bao? To the Universal Park in N City?”
Wei Qi had originally intended to say the truth, but upon hearing this, he hurriedly changed his response, giving a slight, uncertain “mm.”
Wang Sasa then turned to Wei Bao and said, “How about this? You let your cousin Qiqi carry you, and I’ll go with Tan Yixuan to the park to play. How does that sound?”
Wei Bao thought for a moment and then turned to Wei Qi, extending his arms. Since his cousin was now planning to take him to the park instead of home, he had no objections.
Wang Sasa turned to Tan Yixuan and said, “What do you think? Let’s go to the park today and buy the books tomorrow?” Thankfully, she still remembered about buying the books.
Tan Yixuan had initially planned to spend the day at the bookstore with Wang Sasa. Meeting Wei Qi there unexpectedly and then agreeing to go to Universal Park with them was quite confusing for her.
She pressed her lips together, somewhat displeased. Seeing Wang Sasa’s enthusiastic face, Tan Yixuan sighed internally and nodded in agreement.
Universal Park in N City was not far from here; it only took half an hour by taxi. The park was well-equipped with various game facilities, and it was mostly visited by families with one or two children. It was quite rare to see a trio of high school students with a young child, like Wang Sasa and her group.
After buying tickets and entering the park, Wei Qi set Wei Bao down, and the child immediately ran off excitedly. Wei Qi had no choice but to carefully follow behind him.
Wang Sasa glanced at the roller coaster zooming overhead and eagerly asked, “How about it? Do you want to try it?”
Although the purpose of the trip was to help Wei Qi and Tan Yixuan bond, it certainly wouldn’t hurt for her to have some fun!
Tan Yixuan looked at the screaming roller coaster and said hesitantly, “Let’s skip this one.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Wei Qi came back holding Wei Bao and, upon hearing that Wang Sasa wanted to ride the roller coaster, quickly offered, “You want to ride this? Do you want me to accompany you?”
Wang Sasa was about to refuse when her arm was suddenly grabbed. She looked back and saw Tan Yixuan holding her hand with a slight smile and saying, “I haven’t tried it yet. Shall we go together?”
Wang Sasa didn’t think much of it. She waved at Wei Qi and dragged Tan Yixuan to queue for the roller coaster.
It had been a long time since Wang Sasa had such an exciting ride. After finishing, her cheeks were flushed with happiness. She turned to see Tan Yixuan’s face was pale and she looked extremely weak. Wang Sasa immediately grew concerned and asked, “Tan Yixuan, are you okay?”
Tan Yixuan shook her head and gritted her teeth, replying, “I’m fine.”
Wang Sasa pressed her lips together and said, “Don’t push yourself. Let me help you rest.” She took Tan Yixuan’s hand and firmly led her to a bench, insisting, “Sit here and rest while I get something for you.”
Wang Sasa then went to a nearby vending machine and bought a bottle of mineral water. “If you feel short of breath, drinking some water should help.”
She unscrewed the cap and handed it to Tan Yixuan, who hesitated for a moment before taking it.
Wei Qi, carrying Wei Bao, walked over and looked at Tan Yixuan. “Are you guys alright?”
Wang Sasa shrugged. Given Tan Yixuan’s condition, it seemed best not to try other attractions. She looked at Wei Bao and said, “Baby, you play with the sister here while Qiqi and Tan Yixuan rest, okay?”
The three of them were taken aback by Wang Sasa’s suggestion.
Wei Bao quickly ran over and hugged Wang Sasa’s leg, cheerfully shouting, “I want to play bumper cars!”
Tan Yixuan frowned at Wang Sasa. Was it her illusion, or did Wang Sasa seem intent on pairing her with Wei Qi?
Wei Qi didn’t think much of it and assumed Wang Sasa was being considerate about taking care of Wei Bao, so he didn’t say anything and blushed slightly.
Wang Sasa took Wei Bao’s hand and said decisively to the other two, “You rest here. I’ll take the baby to play.”
Without waiting for a response, she led the child in a specific direction.
It wasn’t just an illusion; Wang Sasa probably did want to set her up with Wei Qi. Why?
Tan Yixuan felt a mix of absurdity, amusement, and a bit of anger. Thinking about Wang Sasa’s feelings for Wei Qi and her sudden, insincere actions, her emotions became even more complicated. She watched Wang Sasa’s retreating figure, deep in thought.
After playing bumper cars, Wei Bao insisted on going to Snow City. Wang Sasa glanced at the child’s chubby body and agreed. Since Wei Bao was too small, Wang Sasa could only take him to less stimulating activities. Snow City was essentially an indoor ice rink. While Wang Sasa was putting on a winter coat at the ticket counter, she received a call from Tan Yixuan.
While zipping up her coat, Wang Sasa answered, “Are you coming too?” She gave Tan Yixuan the address and then ended the call.
Walking into Snow City with the child, Wang Sasa was immediately hit by the cold air, causing goosebumps to rise on her skin. She sneezed and then touched the warm little hand of Wei Bao, asking, “Wei Bao, are you sure you want to go in?”
Wei Bao quickly pulled away from Wang Sasa’s hand and ran inside, leaving Wang Sasa no choice but to follow.
Inside Snow City, there were transparent ice sculptures, arches, slides, and cartoon character statues everywhere. Wang Sasa reached the slide, saw several large black tires, and, with Wei Bao urging her on, grabbed a tire and went down the slide with him.
It was actually quite fun.
Just then, another parent and child group came in, and Wang Sasa, with Wei Bao, joined them to play with the ice sand.
Wang Sasa, while watching Wei Bao, was also enjoying herself with the tire at the slide. As she played, she wondered how Tan Yixuan and Wei Qi were getting along.
Just then, Tan Yixuan pushed open the door and walked into Wang Sasa’s line of sight.
The slide was entirely made of ice, and the speed increased as one went down. There was initially no one in front of the slide, but suddenly, someone appeared, startling Wang Sasa.
Upon closer inspection, it was Tan Yixuan.
Seeing Tan Yixuan standing there, looking up at her in a daze, Wang Sasa hurriedly shouted, “Tan Yixuan! Move aside!”
Tan Yixuan was in a position where she could easily step aside, but upon hearing Wang Sasa’s shout, she hesitated and seemed momentarily stunned, standing still.
With a crash, Wang Sasa collided with Tan Yixuan, knocking her to the ground. “Sorry,” Wang Sasa said apologetically, quickly getting up. However, her foot seemed to catch on something, causing her to once again lose control and fall toward Tan Yixuan.
This time, it was entirely unexpected. Wang Sasa’s lips inadvertently brushed against something warm and moist. She touched her lips in confusion, realizing that it seemed to be Tan Yixuan’s lips?.
