The White Moonlight Is Quitting! Chapter 57

Chapter 57: No Wonder the Villain Goes Against the Big Shot

Zhou Niannian rushed over when she saw Fu Quan with his head wrapped in bandages. “Brother, are you okay?”

Fu Quan’s face was deathly pale, showing no color at all.

Though his pitiful appearance was somewhat comical, neither Zhou Niannian nor Zhou Yanhui could find it funny.

Zhou Yanhui gritted her teeth and said, “Didn’t I tell you? Stay away from Fu Jianzhi, stay away from him! Why did you provoke him?”

Fu Quan, wincing in pain, wished he could get another dose of painkiller from the doctor.

At the time, he had been so terrified by Fu Jianzhi that he hadn’t even noticed the pain.

Now, with the anesthetic wearing off, Fu Quan felt his head throbbing more and more.

His wrist was fractured by Fu Jianzhi’s stomp, and it would take months to heal properly.

“I didn’t provoke him,” Fu Quan said, on the verge of tears. “Mom, he’s just a lunatic. He attacked me out of nowhere! He wanted to kill me!”

Zhou Yanhui was furious. “That damned little bastard! Why didn’t he go to hell along with his parents?”

Zhou Niannian frowned. “Aunt, will my brother have scars on his head?”

The doctor explained that scarring was inevitable given the number of stitches, but modern medical procedures could minimize scars with a scar removal surgery.

Seeing her son in this state, Zhou Yanhui was heartbroken, and her hatred for Fu Jianzhi deepened.

On the surface, Fu Jianzhi seemed gentle and refined, but in reality, he was a ruthless devil.

Outsiders thought that because Zhou Yanhui had married the old master and had two young sons, Fu Jianzhi, who had lost his parents, would be neglected and unloved, suffering under Zhou Yanhui’s sharp tongue and the bullying of her two young sons.

But in fact, it was true that Fu Jianzhi was neglected and unloved, but he was not bullied.

Fu Jianzhi, if he wasn’t the one bullying others, it would be surprising. How could anyone bully him?

He was vengeful, ruthless, and though he appeared as warm as a spring breeze on the surface, he was as cruel as a demon in reality.

When Fu Jianzhi was a child, Fu Quan and a cousin from the Zhou family had beaten him badly, leaving him bruised and battered.

In response, Fu Jianzhi went on to find a world-class boxer as his teacher. The following year, he not only broke all ten fingers of Fu Quan and the Zhou cousin but also fractured more than ten of their bones. The Fu family’s doctors took a long time to save them.

Fu Jianzhi was only eight years old that year.

It was chilling to think he held a grudge from such a young age.

Yet Fu Jianzhi acted as if nothing had happened afterward. He remained polite to Zhou Yanhui and behaved normally in front of the old master.

Fu Jianzhi’s maternal grandfather’s family had severed ties with the Fu family after Fu Jianzhi’s mother passed away.

However, Fu Jianzhi was their only grandson. Even if Zhou Yanhui wanted to get rid of him, she dared not do so recklessly. After all, Fu Jianzhi’s maternal grandfather’s family was very powerful.

If she dared to kill Fu Jianzhi, his maternal grandfather’s family would ensure that her two sons would be left without a burial place.

Zhou Yanhui was still fuming.

But with the old master still ill, she dared not joke about his health or tell him about this incident, as it might upset him.

The old master was their only support. If he were to pass away, Fu Jianzhi would certainly drive them out.

“I told you before, don’t be alone with him in private,” Zhou Yanhui said angrily. “Did a dog eat your brain?”

Fu Quan felt very aggrieved. “I really didn’t provoke him… I just met his wife and said a few words to her. Who knew he’d be so petty and beat me up like this!”

Hearing this, Zhou Niannian couldn’t take it anymore, wiped her tears, and ran out sobbing.

Zhou Niannian had always been so sentimental, and Zhou Yanhui was used to it by now.

Compared to Zhou Niannian, her own son was more important.

Zhou Yanhui sat at the edge of the bed, still fuming.

At this moment, there was a knock on the door.

Zhou Yanhui thought it was a nurse. “Come in.”

Fu Jianzhi pushed the door open.

Upon seeing Fu Jianzhi, Fu Quan recoiled in fright and quickly leaned back against the head of the bed.

Zhou Yanhui’s face stiffened. “Jianzhi, you’re here.”

Fu Jianzhi smiled slightly. “How is Second Uncle? I heard he was badly injured, so I came to see.”

Fu Quan’s expression was strange.

He was badly injured? Did Fu Jianzhi not know the extent of his injuries?

The injuries were clearly caused by Fu Jianzhi himself.

If Fu Jianzhi hadn’t beaten him, would he be so badly hurt?

Zhou Yanhui nodded. “The doctor stitched up more than ten wounds and he has a concussion. Other than that, he’s fine. Jianzhi, Fu Quan is your second uncle; please don’t beat him again in the future.”

Fu Jianzhi smiled. “Today’s incident was a misunderstanding. Seeing Second Uncle so badly hurt, I’m very concerned. Second Uncle, you’re not angry, are you?”

“No, absolutely not,” Zhou Yanhui quickly responded before Fu Quan could. “We’re all family; it’s normal for young people to have small disputes. Have you checked on your grandfather?”

Fu Jianzhi nodded. “The doctor said Grandfather is recovering well. He’s older now, so he needs to keep warm at home.”

“I used to keep an eye on your grandfather, but he’s stubborn and likes to fish by the river. Sometimes he comes back with a headache after being exposed to the wind. No matter how much I try to persuade him, he won’t listen. You should also try to talk to him,” Zhou Yanhui said, coughing lightly. “Niannian hasn’t seen you for a long time and misses you. Jianzhi, talk more with Niannian. Her health isn’t great, so be understanding towards her.”

By the time Zhou Yanhui finished speaking, Zhou Niannian had returned.

Upon learning that Fu Jianzhi had injured Fu Quan because of Mu Ruo, Zhou Niannian felt extremely upset and stared at Fu Jianzhi with watery eyes.

For all these years, Fu Jianzhi had always ignored her, showing no concern for her feelings.

Zhou Yanhui, not daring to blame Fu Jianzhi for her son’s injuries, could only lay the blame on Fu Jianzhi’s wife.

“Where is Mu Ruo?” Zhou Yanhui asked. “I heard she is also here. Let her come over; let’s have dinner together tonight.”

When Mu Ruo was called over, she noticed Zhou Niannian’s hostile gaze towards her.

However, given that Zhou Niannian had always been unfriendly, Mu Ruo didn’t pay much attention.

Soon, Mu Ruo’s gaze fell on Fu Quan. “Oh, what happened to Second Uncle?”

Fu Jianzhi answered in a neutral tone, “He accidentally bumped his head into a rock while walking.”

Mu Ruo smirked inwardly and thought, “No wonder the villain who goes against the big shot ends up getting hurt so easily.”

Even walking can lead to a head injury.
