Chapter 65: Regret
Sun Hong, excitedly clutching his phone, took a taxi to the hotel Mu Ruo mentioned early and booked a room to wait.
The more he thought about it, the more he regretted asking for only two million. After all, Du Haili’s car alone was worth more than two million. However, he feared that if he pushed too hard, they might turn against him, and he would end up with nothing.
Two million wasn’t much in their circle, but for a relatively unknown actor like Sun Hong, it was a considerable sum. He didn’t have many fans or good resources, so this amount of money would be enough for him to live comfortably for a long time.
Moreover—
Sun Hong smirked, thinking to himself that he had never promised to give all the photos to Du Haili. He would keep some and demand more money from her when this sum ran out. These young girls were always thin-skinned, and he was sure she would give in.
Feeling smug, Sun Hong’s thoughts were interrupted when the door opened. Mu Ruo and Du Haili entered, both dressed in black, making them stand out.
Especially Mu Ruo, her long legs encased in tight black jeans were mesmerizing, and Sun Hong couldn’t help but stare at her lecherously.
Mu Ruo and Du Haili placed a large canvas bag on the table. Mu Ruo unzipped it, revealing stacks of red cash inside.
Sun Hong’s gaze shifted from Mu Ruo to the money, his eyes turning red with greed. “So much cash?”
Mu Ruo sneered, “A bank transfer would be too easy for the police to trace.”
Sun Hong thought about it and realized that in the movies, robbers always demanded cash. Transfers were easier to track.
He reached out to pull the bag of money toward him, but Mu Ruo slammed his hand with her small purse. “Don’t be greedy! Delete the photos first!”
The purse was made of crocodile leather, and the blow left Sun Hong’s hand red and sore. Furious, he held back his anger for the money’s sake and started deleting the photos from his phone under Mu Ruo’s watchful eyes.
Mu Ruo then checked his cloud storage and other apps, “Any other copies? Do you have backups on your computer or other phones?”
“I don’t use a computer, and this is my only phone,” Sun Hong said, nodding toward Du Haili, “She knows.”
Haili nodded in confirmation.
Mu Ruo took his phone and put it in her bag, “I’ll be keeping your phone.”
Sun Hong shrugged, “If you want it, it’s yours. Can I take the money now?”
Mu Ruo crossed her arms and smiled, “Take it, share it with your ancestors.”
Sun Hong suddenly felt something was off. He opened the bag and pulled out a stack of what he thought was money—only to find it was ghost money, printed by the Underworld Bank.
“Fuck you, bitches!” Sun Hong roared, enraged. “You dared to trick me?”
He pulled out another phone from his pocket, “I’m going to share your dirty pictures with everyone online!”
Mu Ruo kicked him in the groin, “I knew you’d pull this stunt.”
Sun Hong was furious. He never expected to be outsmarted. But he came alone partly because Du Haili usually seemed dumb and partly because he didn’t take the two women seriously.
Mu Ruo clapped her hands, “Zhou Jian.”
Zhou Jian kicked the door open, followed by seven or eight tall, burly bodyguards dressed in black.
Seeing this, Sun Hong started to back away in fear, “What are you going to do?”
Mu Ruo crossed her arms and sneered.
What were they going to do?
With the three main antagonists of the entire book gathered together, what else could they be planning?
Mu Ruo truly felt sorry for Sun Hong.
Of all people to provoke, he chose to mess with the law-abiding trio.
These three, though they never managed to kill the female lead, were always successful in harming others.
This small-time villain, lacking the protagonist’s protective aura, dared to blackmail the antagonists.
For some reason, Haili’s innate villainous instincts suddenly awakened. “Sister Mu Ruo, are we really not going to dismember him? My basement is really spacious; we could hide him there, and no one would ever find him.”
Sun Hong’s face was filled with fear.
Was this woman really his naive and easily manipulated ex-girlfriend, Du Haili?
Zhou Jian couldn’t believe this guy dared to not only break his sister’s heart but also blackmail her.
After frowning for a moment, Zhou Jian spoke up, “I don’t think dismembering him is a good idea.”
Sun Hong’s eyes brightened.
Of course, men understood each other; men felt sympathy for other men.
“Better to castrate him,” Zhou Jian said, stroking his chin. “This kind of scum, if left in society, would only deceive more kind-hearted girls!”
Sun Hong’s vision went black, nearly fainting.
Mu Ruo coldly looked at him. “Where else are your backups? Delete everything.”
Sun Hong, now so scared that his pants were wet, hurriedly logged into his private storage on his phone and deleted every single photo.
After thoroughly checking and finding nothing, Mu Ruo’s eyes narrowed. “I still don’t trust a word out of his mouth. Cut out his tongue; he’s probably hiding more photos somewhere.”
“I really don’t have any more!” Sun Hong covered his mouth, terrified that one of the big bodyguards might actually cut out his tongue. “I swear, there’s nothing left! If I’m lying, let me be struck by lightning!”
Mu Ruo skeptically watched his expression. “I don’t believe you.”
“I swear, there’s really nothing left. I deleted everything,” Sun Hong cried, tears streaming down his face. “There’s really nothing left…”
Mu Ruo nodded slightly. “Haili, Zhou Jian, let’s go.”
Haili couldn’t believe it. “We’re really not going to kill him?”
Zhou Jian also thought letting him go was too easy. “Let’s have these bodyguards strip him and take some photos of him as well.”
Mu Ruo: “…”
Mu Ruo felt like if they kept going, prison would soon be beckoning.
Mu Ruo deliberately frightened Sun Hong. “If he dares to act up again, we’ll do exactly what you suggested.”
Zhou Jian told the two girls to go ahead first. “We need to take some photos of him. In case he has any backup plans, we can retaliate if he tries anything.”
Sun Hong was now filled with regret.
Truly regretful.
He had always thought Du Haili was a little white rabbit.
Who would have thought that Du Haili and her friends were the living embodiment of hell?
Even if he were given 800 more chances, he wouldn’t dare do this again.
The terror he experienced today made him wish he’d never met these three.
As he watched them leave, Sun Hong was still so scared that his spirit was broken, fearing they might turn back.
Holding his now completely clean phone, he hesitated for a while before dialing the police. “Hello, officer? Someone’s threatening me! I need police protection 24/7.”
“Tell us the whole story.”
“I took some bedroom photos of my ex-girlfriend and blackmailed her for two million. Not only did she not give me the money, but—”
At this moment, Sun Hong’s tiny brain finally realized something was wrong.
Even if he reported this to the police, they wouldn’t side with him. They might even arrest him and throw him in jail.
He frantically hung up the phone.
