Chapter 75: “I Wish I Could Look Like That in My Next Life”
Mu Xinghui quickly caught up with Lu Beichen.
At that moment, Lu Beichen’s face was icy with anger.
Mu Xinghui forced a smile: “Bro, what’s up? Why did you run off in front of Mu Ruo?”
Lu Beichen was feeling irritable.
He couldn’t quite explain why he was so annoyed.
Mu Xinghui patted his shoulder: “It seems like Mu Ruo has finally given up and won’t cling to you anymore. Isn’t that a good thing?”
Lu Beichen sneered: “What’s it to you?”
“You’re even snapping at me? That’s not cool,” Mu Xinghui shook his head. “Are we still bros, or do you want to have your cake and eat it too—having the white moonlight and the Cinderella?”
Mu Xinghui’s words hit a nerve, and Lu Beichen, embarrassed and angry, snapped: “What nonsense are you talking about?”
Mu Xinghui laughed: “Let’s go, we’ll find a place to drink. I’ve recently met some beautiful girls with big busts, slim waists, and long legs. I’m sure you’ll be satisfied.”
That night, a light rain fell over Rongcheng, and the neon lights flickered in the rain.
Lu Beichen felt very distressed.
But he didn’t even know what exactly was troubling him about the choices he had made today.
Arriving in front of the hotel, the staff helped with valet parking and held umbrellas.
A Rolls-Royce stopped nearby. The driver stepped out, opened an umbrella, and opened the car door.
A man in a black suit emerged from the car. His profile was handsome and deep, and his expression was indifferent, exuding an aura of reserved elegance.
Mu Xinghui glanced over: “Damn, this guy looks impressive. Which rich second generation is he? I wish I could look like that in my next life.”
Lu Beichen also noticed the man.
His face stiffened, and a wave of intense jealousy surged within him.
Fu Jianzhi noticed their gazes and gave a slight smile.
Mu Xinghui muttered softly: “Wow, this guy seems quite approachable.”
Lu Beichen gritted his teeth and suddenly spoke up: “Don’t worry. Mu Ruo is just throwing a tantrum. She’s liked me for so many years; do you think she’d give up easily?”
Mu Xinghui wasn’t sure why Lu Beichen brought up Mu Ruo again, but as a friend, he had to support his buddy. He flattered Lu Beichen: “Of course, everyone knows Mu Ruo likes you and is crazy about you. Honestly, she looked stunning today, way more beautiful than any girl I’ve ever seen.”
Lu Beichen coldly replied: “She’s been calling and harassing me every day lately. It’s been so annoying. It’s just right to block her for a while and enjoy some peace.”
Fu Jianzhi’s steps didn’t falter. His expression remained unchanged as he coldly instructed his driver: “Have the hotel manager escort those two out and blacklist them permanently.”
The driver said: “Sir, this hotel isn’t owned by the Fu family.”
Fu Jianzhi: “It will be after today.”
Lu Beichen and Mu Xinghui had called a few friends to join them for drinks and fun, filling up a table with both men and women.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. The hotel manager, looking apologetic, said the hotel could not allow such a gathering and asked them to check out and leave.
Mu Xinghui exploded: “Compensate us for the inconvenience? Is a bit of money really such a big deal? We’re just drinking and chatting; we’re not doing anything illegal. You’re being unreasonable. I’ll file a complaint and make sure you never find another job!”
It was extremely embarrassing to be kicked out with a room full of friends and several beautiful women who had boosted his image.
Lu Beichen revealed his identity and mentioned he knew the hotel’s owner: “I’ll give the hotel president a call.”
The manager smiled: “Sure.”
Lu Beichen tried calling the number three times, but it didn’t connect. What he didn’t know was that after Fu Jianzhi’s assistant requested to purchase the hotel, the hotel’s general manager had already blacklisted Lu Beichen’s number.
In front of so many people, Lu Beichen’s face felt like it was losing all its credibility.
The manager smiled: “Do you really know our president?”
Lu Beichen was about to explode!
He really did know him! The president was a friend of his parents!
At a recent party, he had even called the man “uncle” and shared a pleasant drink with him.
This hotel was a high-end venue in Rongcheng, and Lu Beichen had connections there. It wasn’t like he had never been there before.
But with so many eyes watching, he couldn’t get through, and that was the problem.
A young girl muttered: “What’s going on? Are we really being kicked out?”
The manager politely said: “If you don’t leave, we’ll have to call the police.”
Mu Xinghui was getting anxious: “Let’s just go! Your hotel is trash; I’ll never stay here again!”
Among the girls he brought were some who engaged in transactions of a more sophisticated nature. If the police got involved and checked the transaction records, everyone might be detained.
That would be a disaster, with the scandal tarnishing their families’ reputations and businesses.
For the first time in over twenty years, Lu Beichen and Mu Xinghui encountered such an embarrassing situation.
They had hoped to impress the girls, but now they had lost face and dignity.
Outside, it was raining. Lu Beichen and Mu Xinghui had cars, but the other girls, who had arrived in taxis looking glamorous in their small dresses and elaborate makeup, now looked disheveled and miserable.
Fu Jianzhi, who was having dinner on the hotel’s top-floor restaurant for a business discussion, was just finishing up and heading down.
One girl couldn’t help but complain: “Mr. Lu, Mr. Mu, this is the first time I’ve been kicked out of a hotel! It’s raining; where can we go now?”
Mu Xinghui was also unhappy. Hearing the girl’s complaint, he felt embarrassed: “It’s an unusual situation today. If they don’t give me face, that’s one thing, but they don’t even give Beichen any face.”
Lu Beichen’s face was as dark as the bottom of a pot.
At that moment, he saw Fu Jianzhi. The driver opened the car door for Fu Jianzhi, and before leaving, Fu Jianzhi smiled at him.
Lu Beichen lost it completely.
Seeing the girl still whining, he pushed her: “Stop being so pretentious. Do you think you have a say in this? You’re just out here selling yourself.”
The girl was startled and dared not say a word.
Mu Xinghui didn’t expect Lu Beichen to be so rough with the girl. Their group usually didn’t engage in such uncouth behavior. A man laying hands on a woman was always a bad look. He quickly tried to smooth things over: “Beichen’s drunk. Everyone, calm down. I’ll call a few cars to make sure everyone gets home safely.”
The girl who was pushed cried softly, not daring to make much noise, and wiped her tears with the back of her hand.
She knew clearly that although Lu Beichen couldn’t do anything to the hotel’s owner, a wealthy and influential rich second generation like him could easily vent his frustrations on people like them.
