The Whole Entertainment Industry Thought I Was an Alpha Chapter 47

Chapter 47

When Lin Si returned from the recording studio, it was already late. Before he got out of the car, Liao Ji reminded him to go to bed early since he had to meet Ye Gaotan in the morning.

Lin Si rubbed his arms and responded with a few “mm-hm”s before dashing into the elevator. He ran quickly because he was in a great mood.

On the way back, he sent a message to Y.

The last three messages in their chat were all from Y.

Y: [Baby, shall we meet?]

Y: [No rush to answer. Good night.]

Y: [Good morning.]

Lin Si typed out his latest reply: [Let’s meet!]

Lin Si: [Sorry, I thought about it for a long time, but I’ve made up my mind—we have to meet!]

Lin Si: [Sorry, sorry, sorry. Please don’t be mad at me.]

Lin Si: [Let’s meet in a few days, okay?]

Y: [Okay.]

Because of this, Lin Si had a peaceful and comfortable night. Just yesterday, he had been struggling with melancholic love songs, but today, when he sang them, they were filled with pink, bubbly happiness.

The lights in the living room were still on. Lin Si glanced over and saw Lu Wei sitting upright on the sofa, his elbow resting on the armrest, not turning around.

“I’m back,” Lin Si greeted softly.

Right after he spoke, he heard Lu Wei say something in a low voice—probably “hold on”—so Lin Si stepped aside, catching a glimpse of multiple windows open on Lu Wei’s laptop screen.

Lu Wei was in a video conference.

Lin Si took a deep breath and carefully avoided the camera as he walked past.

“You’re back,” Lu Wei called out to him just as he was sneaking down the hallway.

Lin Si turned around, nodded without speaking, and pointed first at his bedroom, then at the bathroom.

“I’m on mute,” Lu Wei said.

Lin Si relaxed. “You’re in a meeting?”

“Mm.” Lu Wei tapped his ear, indicating that he was only wearing one earphone. “You can talk, I can hear you.”

“Oh, it’s nothing. Just letting you know I’m home and about to take a shower.” Lin Si paused. “Where’s Guang Guang?”

Lu Wei reached behind his right hip and lifted Guang Guang out. “Here.”

Lin Si kept his hands up in midair, standing opposite Lu Wei to avoid being caught on camera. “Give him to me.”

Once he had the cat in his arms, Lin Si gently stroked its fur, noticing it felt a bit cool. He glanced at Lu Wei.

“To establish a stronghold in the new shopping platform, we should directly push high-end inhibitors and Omega-exclusive products. Negotiate purchase prices with the brands—I’ll only accept the lowest possible loss,” Lu Wei instructed smoothly, his tone calm yet leaving no room for argument.

Having lived with Lu Wei for a while, Lin Si had almost forgotten what he was like in full work mode. Now, just hearing his businesslike tone made Lin Si’s scalp tingle in secondhand pressure.

Lin Si pulled the open window shut. The night breeze was unexpectedly strong, blowing the loosely tied scarf around his shirt collar askew , shifting it to the edge of his shoulder.

During a pause in the meeting, Lu Wei glanced up at him. Lin Si whispered, “Wind.”

Lu Wei curled his index finger slightly, motioning for Lin Si to come over.

Thinking he wanted the cat, Lin Si cautiously bent down to hand Guang Guang back. But instead of taking the cat, Lu Wei reached out and straightened Lin Si’s scarf at his shoulder.

The sudden movement left Lin Si stunned for a few seconds. He tilted his head to the left, then looked down at his chest. The tie was now perfectly centered, not a millimeter off—just as precise and strict as Lu Wei himself.

What kind of obsessive-compulsive disorder is this…

Lin Si loosened the tie, making it clear that he preferred it to be a bit more casual. Then, hugging the cat, he deliberately put some distance between himself and Lu Wei, the obsessive perfectionist.

He placed Guang Guang in its cat bed, but before he could take more than a few steps away, the cat sluggishly padded back over to Lu Wei’s feet and flopped down with a soft thud.

“…”

Why do cats always prefer Alphas with aggressive pheromones?!

Clearly, Omega pheromones smell better!

Abandoned by his own cat, Lin Si trudged off to shower in his lonely misery.

He took off his shirt and reached behind to peel off the repair patch on his nape, hissing softly through his teeth.

The adhesive had been stuck on tightly, leaving a square red mark on his fair skin after removal.

The bite mark had faded a lot—the edges were smooth now, and only a faint reddish indentation remained in the center. It no longer looked as frightening as it had that first morning.

Lin Si pressed a fingertip to it, suspicious. Did Lu Wei grow vampire fangs while making the temporary mark? Otherwise, how could a bite that should normally fade in two days take this long to heal on him?

He had to wait until the mark was completely gone before meeting Y.

After replacing the old patch with a waterproof one, Lin Si hummed a new song as he showered. By the time he stepped out of the bathroom, Lu Wei had already finished his meeting.

“Done showering?” Lu Wei asked. His words were casual, but his gaze shifted from Lin Si’s ear to the back of his neck.

Lin Si was about to nod when he noticed the odd stare. He instinctively covered his nape with his hand. “Hold on.”

He rummaged through his luggage, finally finding the gland repair patches that Liao Ji had packed for him. Darting back into the bathroom, he tossed the old patch into the trash and decided to apply the new one in front of the mirror.

His pajama collar was loose, so he could reach back with his right hand to apply it. But since the skin was still red and sensitive from the previous patch, he wanted to adjust the angle, twisting and turning as he struggled to find the right position.

“Want me to do it?” A deep, hoarse voice came from the doorway.

Lin Si turned to see Lu Wei standing there.

“No need, I can—”

Before he could finish, Lu Wei had already taken the patch from his fingers.

In the mirror, their reflections were close. Lin Si shrank his shoulders slightly, his chest rising and falling in small, nervous movements. “I can do it myself…”

“Tilt your head.”

Lu Wei’s fingers rested just below Lin Si’s earlobe, his touch firm yet unhurried. For some reason, Lin Si obeyed instinctively, leaning his head to the left. His eyes flicked up, meeting his own reflection in the mirror.

Maybe it was Lu Wei’s pheromones affecting him, but the places where he was touched felt inexplicably hot. From his neck to his cheeks, a slow, unmistakable warmth spread, turning his skin flush with heat.

“Is this placement okay?” Lu Wei asked.

His warm breath brushed against the shell of Lin Si’s ear, like a spring night breeze passing through an open corridor. Lin Si turned his head away, avoiding the mirror. He tapped the edge of the patch with his fingertip and murmured, “Shift it a bit. Don’t place it over the same spot as before.”

Lu Wei’s fingers pressed gently around the gland’s edge, a touch that was both tingling and itchy. Lin Si instinctively reached up to scratch, only for Lu Wei to catch his fingers. “Don’t scratch.”

“I wasn’t…” Lin Si curled his fingers into his palm and urged, “Just hurry up.”

Three seconds later, Lu Wei said, “Done.”

The patch fit perfectly. Lin Si turned to toss the sterile wrapper into the trash and said, “Thanks.”

“I didn’t control the pressure well that day,” Lu Wei said.

Lin Si waved a hand dismissively as he towel-dried his hair, replying softly, “It’s fine. It’s actually good that it’s healing slowly—it gives me an excuse to wait until Liao Ji leaves before meeting Y.”

“What?” Lu Wei asked.

Lin Si froze for a second, his eyes shifting slightly before he casually covered up, “Nothing, just saying Liao Ji is going home in a few days.”

After saying goodnight, he dashed back to his room.

While staying at Liao Ji’s place, Lin Si hadn’t been able to log into the virtual world. Now that he was finally back in his own space, he couldn’t wait to find Y.

Lin Si: [Are you going to the virtual world today?]

A minute later, Y replied: [Okay.]

Lin Si put on his VR glasses and returned to the couple’s bedroom he hadn’t seen in days.

In the upper-right corner, Y’s avatar blinked online.

“Y! Are you here?!” Lin Si had missed him so much he felt like he was growing mold. He wanted to drag Y out of bed and shake him a dozen times.

“I’m here,” Y answered.

The person lying beside him sat up immediately, and the first thing he did was pull Lin Si into his arms, his voice husky with warmth. “Missed you.”

Lin Si was held against Y’s chest, feeling the comforting heat. He hugged Y back and buried his face in the crook of his neck. “I’m sorry I haven’t talked to you in so long.”

“It’s okay,” Y said.

Lin Si rubbed against him. “I missed you too.”

Y loosened his hold and teased in a low voice, “Did you forget to go to work at the restaurant?”

Restaurant? Work? Lin Si had completely forgotten about it. He didn’t even remember applying for the job.

“Come on, let’s go to the agency,” Y said, pulling him up.

Lin Si slipped his hand into Y’s and asked, “What for?”

“To buy a house,” Y replied.

“Buy a house?!” Lin Si stared at him in shock. “Do we even have enough money?”

Y led him downstairs, walking along a tree-lined path. “We do. I made enough today.”

Lin Si pouted. “You actually went out and worked hard for our little home? I’m so touched…”

“…You don’t have to be that touched,” Y said with a chuckle. “It might rain in Beicheng in the next few days. Make sure to dress warmly when you go out.”

Lin Si nodded in agreement. “Yeah, I almost got blown away by the wind on my way home today. I didn’t even feel like talking!”

“Are you going out tomorrow?” Y asked.

“Mm, I have something really important to do,” Lin Si hesitated for a moment, then asked, “Do you want to meet tomorrow?”

Y shook his head. “No rush. Whenever you feel ready.”

Lin Si walked in silence for a bit before muttering, “If… if I’m not what you imagined, would you break up with me?”

“Baby,” Y’s voice was deep and reassuring. “I won’t break up with you.”

Lin Si nodded obediently. “Okay.” Then, trying to lighten the mood, he forced a grin. “What if I’m really ugly? Would you be disappointed?”

Y touched his forehead gently. “You’re the best.”

A flush of red spread across Lin Si’s cheeks. Like a little red flower blooming in the wind, he leaned in and planted a quick kiss on Y’s cheek with a soft “mwah”.

Y blinked in surprise. Lin Si pressed his lips together and said, “Let’s meet the day after tomorrow. I’ll be free then.”

“Okay,” Y said, holding his hand tighter. “What do you like to eat? I’ll book a restaurant.”

Lin Si tensed. “Let’s not go to a public place. I don’t… really like it.”

Y immediately understood and said, “Then you decide.”

Lin Si quickly ran through Beicheng’s famous landmarks in his head before raising an eyebrow. “How about the museum? Tuesdays are usually quiet.”

Y chuckled at the unusual suggestion. “Alright, the museum it is.”

“I’ll tell you what I’m wearing before I go!” Lin Si said excitedly. “That way, you can recognize me by my outfit.”

“Mm.”

There was a faint trace of worry in Y’s voice, but Lin Si was too caught up in his excitement to notice.

With the meeting set, Lin Si practically floated on air, swinging Y’s hand back and forth as they walked into the real estate agency.

“Oh, good evening, gentlemen,” the agent greeted them warmly.

Feeling confident as a homebuyer, Lin Si sat down grandly at the table. “We’re here to buy a house!”

The agent smiled. “Congratulations, sir.”

“We want to buy the unit we’re currently living in,” Lin Si said, flashing a triumphant grin at Y. “We’ll pay in full.”

The agent pulled out the contract. Lin Si eagerly signed his name, then grabbed Y’s hand. “You sign too.”

“Are you two married?” the agent asked. “Only registered spouses can have both names on the deed.”

Lin Si froze. “Huh?”

Y pulled him close and said, “It’s fine. Just put your name.”

Lin Si clutched the contract. “But then wouldn’t it be just my house?”

“No matter whose name is on it, it’s our home,” Y reassured him, handing the contract to the agent before tapping the payment button. “It’s paid, baby.”

The amount was so large that Lin Si double-checked his password three times before finally completing the payment for the house.

The system automatically processed all the home-buying procedures, and now, they officially owned a small home of their own.

When they returned to the house, all the furniture and decorations had switched to an adjustable mode, allowing them to customize the layout however they liked. Lin Si and Y agreed to visit a virtual furniture store together the next time they entered the virtual world.

Before logging off, Lin Si planted another quick kiss on Y’s cheek. “Good night.”

“Good night.”

Beicheng’s weather wasn’t the best, but it was rare for thunderstorms and heavy rain to hit during the transition between spring and summer. Yesterday, Lin Si had joked about being blown speechless by the wind, and today, it actually came true. He dashed out of the car and ran under the eaves for shelter.

“You’re here!” Lu Nan spotted him from inside and immediately rushed out, throwing an arm around his neck. “How long has it been since we last met?!”

Lin Si laughed and patted Lu Nan’s hand. “Hey! Bro!”

“Hey! Good brother!” Lu Nan dragged him inside. “You’ve been on such a long break—must’ve been having the time of your life!”

“Should I leak some info about you tomorrow?” Lin Si teased.

“Duck no need!” Lu Nan waved him off dramatically. “If I had a partner like yours, I’d probably lose years off my life.” Then, lowering his voice, he added, “By the way, I heard Bai Fan still hasn’t found a new agency.”

“Didn’t he sign with Hangji a while ago?”

“Hangji hasn’t made it official yet,” Lu Nan said. “Some small, unknown agencies have approached him, but after working at Shengshi, his standards are too high. He’s not interested, so now he’s just stuck in limbo.”

Lin Si didn’t seem too affected. “I thought even infamy counted as fame.”

“Yeah, but playing the ‘clout-chasing, scheming b*tch’ card doesn’t work anymore,” Lu Nan mused. Then, as if remembering something, he glanced around before pulling Lin Si into a corner. “Did you watch the video I sent you?”

Lin Si nodded. “Yeah, man, it had me burning up. Pure desire.”

“Damn! That blunt, huh?” Lu Nan lowered his voice. “That Omega is super soft and gorgeous, right?”

“Yeah, yeah! And so skilled—he knows so many positions!” Lin Si exclaimed. “But his Alpha is kinda scary. I was really worried the Omega’s ass would hurt.”

Lu Nan scoffed in disbelief, his expression practically screaming ‘You have zero experience.’ “They don’t feel pain, dude. During heat, it’s nothing but pleasure.”

Lin Si, intrigued, asked earnestly, “Really?”

“Yeah,” Lu Nan nodded, then frowned thoughtfully. “Of course, as Alphas, we can’t fully understand it, but that’s what they say—it’s supposed to feel amazing.”

Lin Si looked thoughtful. “Do you have any other videos? I wanna see one where the Alpha is super, super hot.”

“Why are you so into Alphas instead of Omegas?” Lu Nan asked. “I’ve got some really spicy ones—totally wild and seductive. Are you into that kind of Omega?”

Lin Si hesitated. “…I still prefer good-looking Alphas.”

“Damn, are you trying to develop a thing for guys now? Your taste is seriously unique.” Lu Nan waved his hand dismissively. “Fine, I’ll go through my stash later and send you something that fits your vibe.”

Lin Si bumped fists with him. “Good bro.”

“Of course! An experienced driver like me never crashes.”

After finishing their chat, they headed into the inner room. Lin Zisong was already seated, and when he saw Lin Si, he greeted him warmly. “Long time no see.”

“Song-ge.” Lin Si greeted him respectfully.

“Director Ye is on his way,” Lin Zisong said, then introduced him to the other lead actors of the film.

Not everyone had arrived, but after being introduced to the cast, Lin Si realized the lineup was insanely strong—he almost felt like he had stumbled in by accident.

Their conversation barely touched on the movie itself, instead veering toward gossip and funny stories. Lin Si mostly listened quietly, but because he wasn’t saying much and happened to be at the center of some juicy rumors, he kept getting dragged into the discussion.

Luckily, Lin Zisong and Lu Nan occasionally helped him out, so by the time Ye Gaotan arrived, Lin Si hadn’t been completely roasted.

The main goal of today’s meeting was to get familiar with each other and do a script read-through. Ye Gaotan had a habit of watching the cast closely to make sure everyone had studied their roles, so they could dive into the details during the table read.

Lin Si paid close attention throughout the session, filling his script with notes.

When the meeting ended, he was startled by the sound of thunder rumbling overhead. Outside, the wind and rain raged. Most people chose to stay put, but Ye Gaotan called Lin Si over for a private chat.

“Xiao Lin, to be honest, I didn’t want to cast you as You Yu at first,” Ye Gaotan admitted.

Lin Si nodded. “I understand. I don’t really match the later version of You Yu’s character.”

“But no one fits the early version of You Yu better than you.” Ye Gaotan continued, “I auditioned so many actors, but none of them had that childlike innocence.”

Lin Si smiled, his lips curving slightly in appreciation of the praise.

“I’m betting on your potential. Don’t let me down.” Ye Gaotan told him.

Lin Si straightened up. “I’ll do my best, Director Ye.”

A deafening crack of thunder interrupted them, followed by the sound of rain slamming against the windows. The wind howled as the rain lashed in at an angle, making loud splattering noises.

“This weather… looks like a typhoon is coming.” Ye Gaotan quickly stepped out to inform everyone. “Go home while the roads are still drivable.”

They hurriedly wrapped up. Lin Si jumped into the nanny van, while Liao Ji urged the driver to get moving. They managed to reach Xijiang before the storm worsened.

Lin Si hopped out of the van and waved. “You guys get home safe too.”

As the nanny van drove away, another car pulled up beside him. A pair of long legs stepped out—Lu Wei, dressed in a crisp suit, his only sign of haste the damp strands of hair clinging to his forehead.

“You’re back too?” Lin Si asked.

“Yeah.” Lu Wei closed the car door and led Lin Si toward the elevator. “Didn’t want to risk getting stuck at the office overnight.”

The air was humid and stifling, making it hard to breathe. Lin Si muttered gloomily, “The storm came too fast.”

“The weather station said there’d be a typhoon at 7 PM.” Lu Wei pressed the button for the 25th floor. “Better to stay home.”

Lin Si nodded. “Do you think it’ll clear up by tomorrow?”

“Not likely.” Lu Wei replied.

His plans were probably going to be ruined by an unavoidable force of nature. The thought left Lin Si feeling down, so much so that he barely had the energy to step inside when they reached his apartment.

“You left the window open.”

Looking up, Lin Si saw the carpet near the window completely drenched from the rain. Stunned, he set his umbrella aside and hurried into the bedroom.

“…”

As expected, his bed was soaked.

When he chose this room, he had loved the idea of sunlight streaming through the window, imagining how warm and cozy it would feel. But he hadn’t considered what would happen if he forgot to close it during a storm.

Lin Si pulled off his socks, ready to climb onto the bed and shut the window, but Lu Wei caught his elbow.

“I’ll do it.” Lu Wei said.

Standing at the edge of the bed, he stretched out his arm and pushed the window shut with just his fingertips.

All of Lin Si’s stuffed animals were scattered across the wet sheets—every single one of them soaked. He let out a frustrated sigh and stripped the entire bed, dragging the sheets and comforter off.

Lu Yan moved the drying rack to the hallway and helped him hang up the heavy, damp bedding.

All the stuffed animals were neatly arranged at the bottom of the rack, looking unexpectedly adorable. But Lin Si was so exhausted that he flopped onto the living room couch.

“Where are you sleeping tonight?” Lu Wei’s voice came from behind him.
