Class 3 in the second year of high school had already become a legend in the school.
On one hand, it was where the top-tier connections of Huainan No. 1 High School gathered, a place reserved for various influential students who were difficult or impossible for the school to control.
Teachers in this class were reputed as the year’s top instructors, but in reality, they were all style and no substance, only capable of superficial talk.
For these influential students, future paths were assured; at worst, they could inherit family businesses.
Take Jiang She, for instance. Even if he spent his whole life lying in bed, he wouldn’t starve.
On the other hand, those with some family connections who wanted to advance would actively avoid Class 3 during class assignments.
The class was like a wasp’s nest—whoever provoked it was sure to regret it.
Chu Tao, with slightly above-average grades, a mild temperament, and no family connections, naturally ended up filling a spot in Class 3.
Chu Tao adjusted his backpack, picked up the thermos he’d used for years, and said calmly, “Why would I go looking for trouble?”
Tao Song looked at him with pity and sighed, “In any case, I think with your personality, transforming into an alpha might not be such a good thing.”
Chu Tao had lived in the shadow of Chu Xingning his entire life, rarely noticed by others.
He was a good student, got into Huainan on his own merits, but Chu Xingning had slightly better grades, so naturally, no one praised Chu Tao.
He was also considered attractive: delicate, fair-skinned, with clear, bright eyes—a look that would easily make him the most handsome boy in another class.
But Chu Xingning looked more like their mother, with a softer and more striking appearance. They were always together, so Chu Xingning single-handedly took all the titles of most handsome.
Moreover, Chu Tao had been healthier than Chu Xingning since birth.
Chu Xingning caught every flu, was often ill, and even fainted twice during recess in elementary school. After numerous check-ups, the only diagnosis was malnutrition.
This constant concern kept Chu Xingning’s parents on edge, and naturally, they devoted less attention to Chu Tao.
But Chu Tao had a big heart and rarely took things to heart.
He didn’t feel particularly aggrieved or harbor any resentment toward his brother.
He believed that a man’s worth should come from his abilities; everything else was secondary.
But he was also too grounded, accustomed to working silently, and had few friends, which made adjusting to new environments slow.
Tao Song thought that if Chu Tao weren’t so easy-going, he might have been stifled long ago.
Before leaving, Chu Tao patted Tao Song’s shoulder solemnly. “I’ll miss you.”
Reluctantly, Tao Song said, “I’ll come find you after class to show those alphas that you have someone backing you up.”
Chu Tao replied helplessly, “Those alphas? I’m an alpha too.”
Tao Song stuck out his tongue, “Damn, I almost forgot. Your inhibitor is too good; I can’t smell a thing.”
Chu Tao frowned slightly. “Maybe it’s because I’ve only recently transformed, so the scent is still faint.”
He didn’t fully understand it himself; even Chu Xingning said he felt nothing standing next to him.
Chu Tao tugged at his collar and took a sniff.
There was a faint scent of pine on him.
That was the inhibitor’s scent.
Trying to keep a low profile, he quietly left his old class, stepping onto the damp, freshly mopped stairs.
But before he reached Class 3’s door, he could already hear the noisy shouting and chaotic racket coming from inside.
Chu Tao glanced at his watch.
It was 7:50. Technically, it was supposed to be the time for morning self-study, yet there wasn’t even a teacher in sight, and the classroom door was being pounded, the noise echoing from a distance.
How could anyone study in this environment?
He sighed, bypassed Class 3, and headed to the teacher’s office around the corner, where he knocked on the door.
“Excuse me, is Teacher Yang here?” he asked politely.
The office on the fourth floor was spacious, with ten workstations arranged in pairs facing each other.
But it was mostly empty, as most homeroom teachers had gone to supervise their classes.
Only one male teacher was left, rummaging through a pile of exam papers on his cluttered desk.
The male teacher heard him, adjusted his glasses, and looked up. “Looking for Teacher Yang Liu? She hasn’t arrived yet. Anything you need?”
It was already 7:50, and the homeroom teacher hadn’t arrived at school yet.
Chu Tao was speechless.
“I’m a transfer from a regular class and wanted to report to the teacher.”
The male teacher scratched his head. “Oh, go to the classroom and find a seat. Your teacher should be here soon.”
After that, he hunched back down, continuing to search through the pile of papers.
Chu Tao couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
He thought the teacher would at least introduce him to the class as a new student. But it seemed he’d overestimated things—this Teacher Yang might not even know all her students yet.
Resigned, Chu Tao headed toward Class 3.
Before he could push open the door, someone kicked it open from the inside.
Two tall, sturdy alphas ran out, playfully shoving each other.
“Get lost, don’t touch me. I’m not interested in any A’s, unless it’s my dear Brother She.”
“Fang Sheng, you shameless brat, Brother She likes soft Omegas with big chests and long legs. You don’t have a chance.”
“You weakling, that’s ancient history. Haven’t you heard? Chu Xingning from the regular class just transformed into an Omega.”
“Who? The one that’s every alpha’s dream in the whole school?”
“With such stunning looks, he’s definitely destined to be our Brother She’s catch.”
Chu Tao: “Ha.”
My brother isn’t someone you all can lust after.
