Chapter 20
Qin Fei opened the comments and started reading them carefully.
“Wishing both of you a harmonious and beautiful future, with happiness and good health! Xiong Zhu Qin Fei, I hope you can keep your promise and lay many eggs~”
“Congratulations on your marriage, wishing you a lifetime of happiness, eternal passion, and growing old together!”
“On this day of celebration and remembrance, I send you my sincerest blessings! Your female zerg is a hero worthy of your deep appreciation, I wish you both happiness!!! Also, I humbly beg for a fortune bag!”
“Wishing you a lifetime of happiness, and may you lay many eggs soon~”
“Wishing you happiness! May you lay eggs soon!”
—
Qin Fei read the first few comments and felt a swarm of crows fly past his mind, leaving a few small dots behind. What was going on? He had just held the ceremony with Xi Yuan yesterday, but why were almost all the blessings about laying eggs soon??? Wasn’t this a bit too eager?!
But, laying eggs…
Thinking about having a child in the future, one who would look like him or Xi Yuan, looking up at him and asking for a hug, Qin Fei felt his heart soften. He looked at his lower abdomen, thinking that this would one day be where their offspring would be nurtured. His hand unconsciously reached down to touch his lower abdomen beneath the blanket, but the coolness there surprised him. Why was it so cold? He took off his obsidian pendant and placed it on Xi Yuan’s lower abdomen. Obsidian was beneficial for females as well, although its benefits were more apparent for males. As soon as the obsidian touched Xi Yuan’s skin, Qin Fei noticed that Xi Yuan’s complexion seemed to soften, and it looked like it was working.
Qin Fei then touched Xi Yuan’s hand. Fortunately, the temperature of his hand was normal. He also checked Xi Yuan’s forehead again. It was still slightly higher than usual, but not high enough to be out of the normal range.
Qin Fei’s gaze then shifted back to the light brain in his hand. Although many of the comments were about hoping they would lay eggs soon, which made him feel a little… embarrassed? Still, excited about having a home now, since yesterday, he continued reading through them one by one. He read for a long time, until Xi Yuan woke up, and by then, it was almost time for lunch.
Xi Yuan, upon waking, seemed much more clear-headed. At least, he no longer had the slow, delayed reactions from earlier in the morning and could respond to Qin Fei’s questions in a timely manner.
“How are you feeling? Is everything alright?” Qin Fei asked.
“I feel much better after a nap. My Xiong Zhu, what do you want for lunch? I’ll go make it,” Xi Yuan said.
“If you’re still feeling unwell, don’t push yourself. I’ll make the food. Do you want to help?” Qin Fei asked, largely because of Xi Yuan’s over-reliance earlier that morning.
Xi Yuan recalled the situation, embarrassed, and turned his face away, but didn’t refuse. He didn’t want to be far from his male master, even if that “distance” was just between floors. He didn’t want his male master to leave his sight—not even a little!
So, Qin Fei began preparing lunch in the kitchen, while Xi Yuan sat on a stool just outside the kitchen door, his eyes never leaving his male master’s figure inside.
Qin Fei had already gotten used to the intense gaze from behind him. He acted as though he hadn’t noticed and calmly went about his business. Right now, Qin Fei needs a lot of energy. The meat from beasts of the appropriate level and the magical plant fruits were perfect for Xi Yuan at this time. Lin Zishu had already prepared the ingredients early in the morning, and they were stored in the freezer, ready to be used at any time.
Xi Yuan’s level was nine, and ninth-level magical plant fruits were rare. Lin Zishu hadn’t prepared many, but there was quite a lot of ninth-level beast meat, filling up a considerable amount of space in the freezer.
Normally, such high-energy foods couldn’t be consumed in large quantities by Xi Yuan. If he ate too much, the excess energy could actually harm his body. Usually, he would eat such foods once or twice a month. But at this time, Xi Yuan could eat them daily without any problem. He needed a large amount of energy to properly develop the pregnancy sac and fully prepare for the future laying of their eggs. Without enough energy to transform his body during this time, the developing pregnancy sac wouldn’t be healthy, making it harder to have offspring in the future. Even if he were lucky enough to get pregnant, the quality of the offspring would be subpar. So, supplementing with energy at this time was crucial.
Lin Zishu had even specifically given Qin Fei a list, detailing how much food Xi Yuan needed to eat daily, what was essential, and had clearly listed everything. He had reminded Qin Fei several times, concerned that he might not understand the importance.
A piece of meat, already cleaned, flew out of the freezer and landed on the cutting board. Qin Fei held the knife, making a few quick movements, and the chunk of meat, still a meter away from him, was neatly cut into small, even pieces by an invisible blade. All of them then dropped into the pot next door, where there were already plenty of red and green ingredients simmering.
When the meat was nearly done, Qin Fei looked to see it was about right, and a red magical plant fruit, about the size of a fist, fell into the pot. Something amazing happened. As soon as the fruit touched the boiling hot water, it turned into a pool of red juice. Not long after, the fruit, now reduced to just its red peel, rolled around in the soup. The broth had turned a milky white color and was emitting a rich, fragrant aroma.
Outside, Xi Yuan, smelling the fragrance, subtly moved his throat. His stomach also let out a dissatisfied growl—he had only had porridge in the morning, and now he was starving, his stomach growling loudly.
Qin Fei was quick-witted and naturally heard the sound. He immediately ladled out a bowl of soup and handed it over: “You should drink this soup first, it’ll be ready soon.”
Xi Yuan felt it was too much to leave the cooking to the male master and start eating first, but… the soup was right in front of him, and the fragrance had grown even stronger. He tried to resist but couldn’t hold back: “Then I’ll drink the soup first, Master.”
He quickly lifted the bowl and brought it to his lips—”Hiss!” It was so hot!!!
Qin Fei quickly handed him a glass of water from the table, laughing and crying at the same time: “You saw me just bring it out. How could you drink it like that? How is it?”
Xi Yuan took a deep breath, shook his head, and said: “It’s fine, it’s not that hot anymore.”
Stubborn! Although it didn’t burn him, his lips were already red.
“Take it slow. I’ll go get the rest of the food. Lunch is ready.”
There were four dishes and one soup for lunch. One was a vegetable dish, and the other three were meat dishes—both he and Xi Yuan loved their meat. The vegetable dish was almost always for Qin Fei, as Xi Yuan never voluntarily ate vegetables. Qin Fei had actually looked up information about this and found that female zergs usually had such eating habits. They were pure carnivores. Male zergs, on the other hand, needed to consume a certain amount of vegetables to maintain balance. Qin Fei didn’t delve deeply into it but knew that female zergs also needed vegetables. However, female zergs generally disliked vegetables. They could get the necessary elements from fruits, so they didn’t force themselves to eat vegetables.
After finishing lunch, the cleanup was left to the household robot, 1708, which was its code number. Qin Fei didn’t give it a name and still referred to it by the code. Xi Yuan didn’t mind, since it was just a designation.
