The little old lady ate the kumquats silently and looked at Fu Erdie with grateful eyes.
Fu Erdie took a step back.
She can’t help but save someone’s life, but her temporary softness doesn’t mean she will provide for him in the long term.
Now she only has some energy left. Potatoes produce two or three potatoes in two days. Together with kumquats, sweet potatoes, and other crops that are gradually maturing, she has just enough to eat, and she has just started to store some new food.
She will not raise irrelevant people, and she is not willing to expose her secrets.
“take care.”
Leaving these words behind, she went to search for supplies in other rooms on this floor.
This time, in order to keep the secret, she did not bring potted plants. Instead, she first moved the useful things to 16-2 in batches, then came up, endured the discomfort, collected the body parts, and concentrated them in a room in the corner of the floor. A layer of soil was placed next to the corpse, and dandelions and cabbage seedlings were planted.
Fu Erdie has already tried it. The survival rate of ordinary seeds at 16-1 is extremely high, and they will all mutate in a good direction. But the only seeds that can survive outside are the seeds of intelligent mutation.
These seeds do not mutate from the beginning, but enter 16-1 and stay for a day and a half before they accidentally trigger the tendency of intelligent mutation.
The dandelions and cabbages now planted on the 24th floor are seedlings with mutated intelligence.
If the little old lady can find the cabbage when it’s ripe, it doesn’t matter if she eats it. If he didn’t find it, Fuerdie wouldn’t remind him deliberately.
After doing this, she returned to the corridor, where the little old lady was waiting for her with a bag of things.
Fu Erdie walked over: “Is there anything else?”
The little old lady seemed to know that she was being guarded, so she didn’t say much. Instead, she lowered her head and opened the dusty sack.
Inside were a dozen potatoes with sprouts, a large bag of sesame paste, and a large can of oatmeal.
The little old lady’s voice was no longer as dry as before, and she whispered: “I want to exchange fruit with you, I don’t know if that’s possible.”
Everything taken out for exchange needs to be soaked in water or cannot be eaten directly.
The little old lady did not inquire about Fu Erdie’s situation, but just took out all the things she could exchange.
“I just need to change a few bottles of water and a few kumquats that I just ate.” Afraid of embarrassing Fu Erdie, the little old lady said sincerely, “I’ll give you the exact amount, sister.”
Surrounded by zombies, the little old lady can’t get out. Without water, it is useless no matter how much food is stored.
Fu Erdie lowered his eyes and finally agreed.
She hoped that when she helped the little old lady, someone would also help her grandma when she needed help.
Although this kind of extravagant hope cannot be equated with dedication, she still wants her grandmother and aunt to be well.
Fu Erdie filled the little old lady with a bucket of water, estimated her appetite, and gave her 30 kumquats that she had saved recently.
Kumquats can be stored for fifteen days at this temperature. The little old lady should be able to get by for a while if she eats two or three a day.
As for the bag of dry goods Fu Erdie got, oatmeal and sesame paste can be eaten for breakfast. The sprouted potatoes gave a little headache. She had no place to grow it.
During the sweep from the 16th to 24th floors, she found eleven more flower pots one after another. But the soil has been sown with plundered seeds, and there is no room to plant potatoes.
Furthermore, the balcony was only 10 square meters, and there was originally a flower bed at the very edge, where many things were planted, occupying two or three square meters. Seventeen flower pots followed one after another, plus the wooden box with the smart mutated small green plants, occupying another two or three square meters.
As the crops grow older, the distance between different pots gradually increases. The environmentally friendly green plants are getting bigger and bigger, and now they take up the entire balcony. If you plant it again, you have to plant it in the living room or bedroom.
But the problem came again. Even if she used one room and one room in her small house with two bedrooms and one living room for planting, she wouldn’t have that much soil.
But just leave the seeds and sprouted potatoes alone? Put it at home as a nutritional supplement for your house and environmentally friendly green plants?
Fu Erdie couldn’t bear it.
She touched her chin, having no idea for a while.
After cleaning the 24th floor, Fu Erdie successfully reached the top floor.
The view from the top of the building is wide, and Fuerdie can see the current status of the surrounding stacks of houses.
Compared with the early days of the end of the world, the world now seems too quiet.
There was no chirping of birds or insects, just the rolling heat.
I don’t know if the zombies were also affected by the heat, so they rarely came out to hang out. On the contrary, there are many zombies hanging around in those residential buildings.
Fu Erdie suddenly felt that high temperature makes people tired, dehydrated and loses appetite. But high temperature also has advantages. While it limits humans, it also limits zombies.
Now, she has cleared everything above the 16th floor. After she clears the lower 16th floor and makes sure that there are no zombies in the whole building, she can try to seal the building.
Both the front door and the broken windows on the first floor must be blocked.
When there were only two living people in a building, she and the little old lady, it was impossible to attract more zombies from all the way.
