Chapter 21: Nameless Chapter (3)
Bai You found something different on the door.
Even though this door was the same green as the one she and Qi Ming came out of, there was a small white English sign missing in the middle.
The words [Pawn] were written on their two doors.
The English word originally meant the Royal Guards, but it refers to [soldier] in chess.
Bai You looked around carefully and found that only the door of the room they had come out of had this English sign on it.
Two doors of different colors, red and green. Bai You tried to turn the red door, but it didn’t move.
It seemed to be the same as she guessed.
The red door without a sign meant that there were players inside and they hadn’t cleared the level yet.
The green door with a sign meant that there were no players inside and they had already cleared the level.
So the green door in front of her without a sign… Bai You turned the handle, and with a “click”, the door opened.
The room was dark, and it was impossible to see what was inside. It was as if it was blocked by a light-absorbing curtain, blocking all the light from the door.
Bai You walked in without hesitation.
Qi Ming behind him touched his nose and followed him in.
He reminded Bai You before, not because he was afraid, but because he thought Bai You, a girl, might be afraid of these things, so he wanted to take the opportunity to show off in front of her and go in first.
But since the girl was so straightforward, he, a grown man, would seem timid and cowardly if he kept talking.
“Bang!”
After the two entered the room, the door closed automatically.
The scene in front of them cleared the black fog and became clear.
Both of them were slightly stunned.
Before entering, the two of them were prepared. Horror games are nothing more than dark and gloomy rooms. Unexpectedly, they saw such a scene——
The warm sunlight shone in through the stained glass windows around, and the brilliant colors covered the white floor and red velvet carpet, flashing and bright.
The rows of black chairs were solemn and solemn, and the steps under the red carpet were layered and extended to the deepest part of the church.
And at the top stood an old man.
He was wearing a black and white priest’s robe, with a wide robe hanging down. He turned his back to the two of them and seemed to be praying. His curly white hair reflected the light from the stained glass windows, shining brightly.
A few little white pigeons pecked at bread crumbs on the ground beside him and jumped.
This scene looked extremely holy, solemn, magnificent and tall.
It made people hold their breath, for fear that making a sound would break the atmosphere and become a sinner.
Church, priest’s clothes…
Bai You couldn’t help but think of the original meaning of the word “elephant” in chess.
[Bishop]
Bishop.
As if he heard something, the white-haired old man put down his hand and slowly turned around.
His face was full of traces of time, and his blue eyes, which should have been clear, were also mixed with some turbid white, but his eyes were very gentle and kind, as if they were soaked in something inexplicable.
He rolled his eyes, his gaze stayed on the two of them for a moment, and then retracted them.
“This is not the place you should come to.”
As the old man said this, he picked up the bread crumbs on the side and sprinkled them on the ground, attracting the white doves to flutter their wings and jump around.
“Why?”
Qi Ming asked subconsciously.
But in the next second, he felt the corner of his clothes being pulled violently. He looked at Bai You in confusion, “What’s wrong?”
“Go!”
Bai You said only one word, pushed open the door behind him, and ran out quickly.
Although Qi Ming was confused, he followed him out.
An idea suddenly popped up in his mind the moment he returned to the black and white space.
Huh? So you can get out after entering the door?
He thought that after entering, he could only get the chess piece to open the door again.
Qi Ming was about to ask Bai You what was going on and why he was suddenly pulled out. He looked up and found that there were several people standing in the black and white space, and he was silent all of a sudden.
Damn, it’s only been a while, how could there be so many people.
There were three people in total, two men and one woman.
One of the men and women was very close to each other, and the girl was holding the boy’s arm intimately. They should be a couple.
The other boy was more distant, standing a little far away, obviously not knowing them.
The couple was gathered on a raised platform in the middle, on which was a black and white chessboard, but it looked incomplete, with many empty positions.
The girl was the first to discover Bai You and the other person.
“Hey, two more have come out.”
She tugged at the boy’s sleeve, motioning him to look over, then smiled and greeted Bai You, waving her hand, “Hello.”
Bai You was never talkative, and didn’t know how to socialize, so she gave Qi Ming a nudge.
“You go.”
“Okay, Miss.”
Seeing that the girl was a little embarrassed, Qi Ming also guessed from her quiet style that she was probably a little afraid of people.
But it didn’t matter, he was good at talking.
Qi Ming was indeed a person with a little social stunt syndrome, and he quickly became friends with the young couple, chatting enthusiastically, making people laugh.
There are five chess boards, distributed in the east, west, south, north and center, and the missing parts on each chessboard are the same.
Bai You stood aside, looking down at the broken chessboard on one of the chess boards, concentrating on thinking, and not paying any attention to what Qi Ming and the others said.
There are 64 squares on a chess board, and only half of them are on this chessboard.
What does it mean…
Time passed slowly.
Until Qi Ming waved his hand in front of her, Bai You withdrew her thoughts, raised her head, and looked at him in confusion.
“Don’t be in a daze. Let me tell you, this is Qiao Linlin, and the one next to her is her boyfriend Lu Yichen.”
“I asked them about their situation. They both lost consciousness as soon as they entered the dungeon, so they are the same as us, and they don’t know anything.”
Bai You nodded.
“Okay, I know.”
She glanced at the boy who was also standing by the chessboard in the distance. She seemed not to have heard him speak.
“What about that guy? Does he have any information?”
Qi Ming smacked his lips and said helplessly: “That guy is so aloof. I asked him more than ten questions but he didn’t reply to me. I didn’t get anything out of him.”
However, he didn’t take it to heart that he was ignored. After all, he was used to it. There are more and more people with social phobia these days, so it’s normal for them not to talk.
He kept thinking about the doubt just now, and took the opportunity to ask it out.
“What happened just now? Why did you suddenly pull me out?”
“Didn’t he say, ‘This is not the place for you to come.'”
Qi Ming: “……?”
No way, so careless?
He thought there was a big problem and two people couldn’t handle it, so he pulled him away quickly.
I didn’t expect it was just because of a word from an NPC? ?
Qi Ming swallowed his saliva and confirmed again, “Just because he said that, you pulled me out?”
“Yes.”
“…”
What a hammer! !
How can you be so obedient? You just do whatever they say. You are too honest.
Qi Ming was worried. He looked at Bai You with a bit of pity and sympathy. She was so naive. If she didn’t go out, she would be cheated.
Bai You didn’t notice Qi Ming’s “sympathy” at all. She counted the remaining doors.
Two men and one woman came out. Three doors turned green. The signs were two [Pawn] and one [Knight].
According to the information Qi Ming had found out, the couple were holding [Pawn], so the remaining [Knight] must be in the hands of the boy.
[Knight], originally means knight in English.
At the same time, it refers to [horse] in chess, which is a powerful chess piece.
In this way, can we fight against [Bishop]?
