Chapter 24: Black and White Mystery (6)
After the knock on the door, a gentle female voice sounded first.
“My Lord, I am sorry to disturb you so late at night, but the guards found that a saint candidate violated the rules and wanted to leave the castle. I need to do a routine check.”
“No problem.”
The door was opened by Lillian, and she stepped aside.
The guards were waiting outside the door. No one dared to look at Lillian. They all turned their backs and looked stern.
A nun dressed in black and white walked in. She was about thirty or forty years old and looked kind.
She looked around the room and finally her eyes fell on the wardrobe against the wall. She just took a step towards it when Lillian behind her suddenly spoke.
“Mia, why do you think they are running away?”
Sister Mia paused, thought for a moment, and said coldly, “Lady Lillian, this is not your concern.”
“Okay.”
Lillian spread her hands, “I just think they are stupid. They have no worries about food and clothing in the castle, but they want to go out to live a hard life. Oh, maybe they will be stabbed to death by a passing soldier, and they won’t even live a hard life for two days.”
Mia turned around and looked at Lillian, who was pure and flawless in a white dress. Her eyes swept to the Bible spread out on her table, and she smiled slightly, “It’s great that you think so.”
Hmm.
Saint candidate?
Bai You thought about these conversations, and combined with the information revealed in Lillian’s previous words, it was obvious that there were many st. candidates who wanted to escape, so Lillian also regarded her as a candidate for escape.
They were already used to it, so they were not surprised.
Mia walked over and kissed Lillian on the forehead, “Good night, Lady Lillian, I wish you a good dream.”
“There is nothing unusual here, let’s go.”
After the nun and the guards left, Lillian opened the cabinet door, “You can come out now.”
Bai You responded and climbed out of the cabinet door. She staggered and lost her balance, and fell backwards. She subconsciously tried to support herself with her hands. As a result, she pressed down Shi Ye’s hand, who was about to stand up, and he fell back with her, hitting the cabinet with a dull thud.
She suddenly bumped into Shi Ye’s arms, and her head just hit the boy’s chin, and she heard him gasp.
Lillian saw the whole process, laughed out loud, and reached out to pull Bai You, “You look smart, why are you so clumsy.”
After struggling for a while, Bai You finally succeeded in “coming out”. She looked at Shi Ye and saw that his chin was red, which was particularly eye-catching on his fair skin, and looked a little pitiful.
She didn’t feel any pain when she bumped into Shi Ye’s arms, but she clearly heard the “bang” and felt a little guilty, “Are you okay?”
Shi Ye’s eyes were clear and moist, his eyes were gentle, he smiled slightly, but his voice was low, “It’s okay.”
…F*ck.
Such a forced smile, even the sound was a little painful, and he said it was okay, wasn’t it just to comfort her!
Bai You felt more and more apologetic, “How about I rub it for you?”
“Ahem.”
Lillian interrupted them and proved her presence.
“If you can’t find anyone, the guards will patrol all night tonight. It’s impossible for you to go out. You can only go out when the shift changes tomorrow morning.”
Bai You nodded, indicating that he understood.
Lillian’s calm eyes swept over the two people’s clothes. She didn’t care before. The two people were wearing strange clothes. She wondered: “You don’t seem to be a candidate for the saint.”
The guard had just left not long ago. If she exposed that she was not a companion, Lillian would definitely call the guard back and let them arrest them.
So Bai You began to act, with a hint of sadness between his eyebrows, “I hope I’m not.”
Lillian had seen such an expression on the faces of many st. candidates, which immediately dispelled her doubts.
She raised her fair and tender little face, “I have seen many st. candidates run away, some for their families, some for freedom, and what are you for?”
As she said, she looked at Shi Ye next to her, “Because of love? Do you love him?”
Fuck.
Bai You almost couldn’t hold back his melancholy expression. In order to avoid being noticed by Lillian, he tried very hard to nod implicitly.
“Yes.”
Lillian looked doubtful, “Really?”
“But I read in the book that lovers stick together every day, never leaving each other’s side, kissing and hugging are common, and even the exchange of eyes can express love.”
“Instead of being two meters apart like strangers like you.”
Shouldn’t a 11 or 12-year-old read innocent books like fairy tales? What about kissing and hugging? Children are not allowed to read these.
Bai You coughed and said seriously: “Different lovers have different ways of getting along with each other, and they stick together every day. How can they handle their own affairs? You said so. What’s more, kissing and hugging are very private. We are more, um, shy, so we never do it in front of outsiders.”
Lillian nodded thoughtfully and said: “Have you handled your own affairs now?”
Bai You was interrupted by her and didn’t react, “Uh, almost?”
The girl finally showed a little smile in her eyes, stretched out her little hand to cover her eyes, “Okay, kiss now. I can’t see.”
Bai You: “?”
I seriously suspect that you said such a big circle just to trick people into kissing, and I have evidence.
And you opened your fingers so wide because you thought I couldn’t see it? ?
Bai You covered the little girl’s eyes, turned around and whispered to Shi Ye: “Don’t mind it, she’s just a little kid, I was just talking nonsense to her.”
Shi Ye’s eyelashes trembled, his eyes were dark, and his words were unclear, “Really?”
His voice was gentle, as if a little aggrieved, “But I’m ready to sacrifice myself.”
“?!”
Bai You was so shocked that he couldn’t speak.
The next second, there was a chuckle, the boy’s eyebrows were slightly curved, and his black eyes were clear and clean.
“I’m kidding.”
Bai You breathed a sigh of relief instantly, she said it.
Lillian pushed Bai You’s hand away, just about to say something dissatisfied.
Suddenly, there was a chaotic sound of footsteps outside the door, and someone could faintly hear someone saying “found” and “rooftop”, and the footsteps were also heading upstairs.
Lillian was a little dazed, could it be that more than one candidate for the saint escaped?
When the footsteps disappeared, Lillian opened the door a crack and looked out. There were indeed no guards in the corridor.
She immediately said: “This is a good opportunity. While the guards are on the roof, you should leave quickly.”
Bai You also knew that it was impossible to stay here forever. Hearing this, he nodded and pulled Shi Ye out. “Thank you, Lillian.”
“Why do you have to thank me?”
Lillian’s fair face showed a puzzled look. She looked at Shi Ye and then at her. “But I wish you happiness.”
“…”
Bai You almost sprained her foot when she went out. Fortunately, Shi Ye supported her in time.
The entrance was empty. A large number of guards went to catch the escaped Saint Candidate, so the defense outside was poor.
After leaving the castle, there was still some distance from the real gate. The atrium was very large, with roads on both sides.
Bai You wanted to leave here directly, but she stopped and thought about it. Although she did not receive the dungeon task, she roughly guessed that she had to collect chess pieces to leave the dungeon.
The chess pieces were hidden in this scene, but she accidentally fell in and did not know which world behind the door she entered, and which chess piece existed here.
The moonlight reflected the light of the stained glass window next to her, and suddenly shook Bai You’s eyes. Looking at the familiar painting, she suddenly remembered.
This castle seems to be very similar to the glass pattern of the church where the bishop is. It shouldn’t be a coincidence, right?
One side leads to the gate, and the other side leads to an unknown place.
Bai You paused and said: “Do you believe me? If you do, let’s go this way.”
“When you say this, your behavior doesn’t seem to match your words.” Shi Ye chuckled and looked at her hand holding her arm tightly.
It was held very tightly there, with no intention of letting go.
Bai You: “…”
It’s over.
I was so nervous when I came out that I forgot about it.
Bai You simply gave up and said calmly: “My feet hurt, help me for a while.”
“Just tell me if you want to follow me or not, let’s do something big.”
Hmm… why does it feel a bit weird to say this?
The arm of her subordinate was suddenly pulled out, and Bai You had the answer in her heart. She exhaled, “Then, you leave first, I’ll go over here and take a look…”
As she was talking, the figure in front of her suddenly became shorter and half-crouched in front of her.
Bai You blinked, “What are you doing…?”
“Aren’t you in a lot of pain? I’ll carry you.”
Looking at the boy’s thin back, Bai You’s heart suddenly softened, but she couldn’t help laughing. She just said it vaguely, how could she be as honest as a child?
“No need. You are so thin. You will be exhausted if you carry me. I am fine. I can run. Let’s go.”
Bai You refused to let him carry her. Shi Ye did not say anything. He just stretched out his arm to her and let her walk with him.
For some reason, Bai You thought of Si Yu.
The little kid who disliked her dirty hands and did not let her touch the corners of her clothes. Compare him with Shi Ye who was taking care of her and deliberately slowing down his pace.
Sure enough, comparing people makes people angry.
The two walked along the path and soon came to a gorgeous building.
Bai You raised her head to observe. The unique symbol of the building and the familiar glazed window pattern were obviously the church before.
Sure enough, she guessed correctly. Opening the door from the black and white space led directly to the church, but the crack space she fell into was the entire dungeon world.
Bai You stretched out her hand and pushed open the closed door.
The white doves in the church were startled in an instant, spread their wings and flew away, and the fallen feathers fluttered and scattered on the red carpet.
The bishop on the altar was still praying devoutly. Hearing the voice, he slowly turned around and looked at the two people.
The whole church looked extremely holy.
But Bai You always had an indescribable sense of weirdness, which was completely different from the daytime, whether it was the white doves, the patterns on the stained glass, or the bishop himself.
And this weirdness reached its peak when the bishop turned back stiffly and the two sides’ eyes met.
The bishop’s whites of the eyes were turbid, and they didn’t look like what a living person should have.
The moment the white dove spread its wings, the moonlight reflected some bright things, lingering at the root of the wings, with a very thin outline but densely packed.
Bai You looked carefully and distinguished them.
That was – line.
