Chapter 41: System
During the five-minute waiting time before entering the dungeon, Bai You sat in the pure white waiting room as usual, holding her face with her hands in a daze.
This time, the small notebook she always held in her hand was gone.
“What did you give him?”
The system asked in a cold mechanical voice.
This system is good at playing dead. Bai You haven’t seen it for a long time. She didn’t expect it to come out at this moment.
It asked this question, obviously knowing what she did.
Bai You smiled: “Are you also interested in the girl’s love letter?”
“As far as I know, you don’t like him. It’s just a deal between you. And today is the time when the deal expires.”
“That’s not necessarily true. How can you explain something like liking someone clearly?” Bai You stood up and brushed her beautiful dress skirt.
“The role-playing game is over. It’s not normal for a girl who just realized her feelings to express her love to the person she likes. Don’t make a fuss.”
“…”
The system was silent for a while and didn’t argue with her. After a blue light flashed, a white grid notebook appeared in the air.
Before the system opened it, a slender hand suddenly pressed the notebook, “It’s immoral to peek at other people’s love letters.”
Bai You curved his eyebrows and said in a brisk tone as if he was talking about the weather today, “It won’t end well.”
The more you hide it from others, the more problems there are.
The system pulled out the notebook and turned to the first page directly.
[How can I compare you to summer? You are cuter and gentler than them…]
…It’s really a love poem.
The system continued to flip down in disbelief, and the notebook was filled with love poems page by page.
“Done reading?”
The copy prompt entered the countdown.
The system said coldly: “He can only protect you for a while. It is best to cooperate with me.”
Bai You fiddled with her hair and laughed softly.
“You are right. His ability has been fading. He will soon become a tool controlled by you.”
[10, 9, 8…]
“So you have thought it through?”
[6, 5, 4…]
“Of course.” She answered quickly, and her soft voice seemed particularly brisk in the countdown.
The notebook opened the first page without wind. The font floated out, surrounded the aperture, and entangled.
[When you grow with time in the immortal poem.
As long as there are humans, or people have eyes,
This poem will last forever and give you life. ]
[3, 2…]
[1]
The girl turned her head, and her clean snow-blue eyes reflected the flustered figure. She smiled softly.
“Welcome to the dungeon system.”
Note: The poem included in the text is one of Shakespeare’s sonnets.
