Seeing the dense sweat forming on his forehead, Jiang Ning suddenly chuckled and pushed him, “Alright, go inside quickly.”
Shen Mo, who was nearly 1.9 meters tall, was easily pushed by her.
Walking into the room, the lighting was excellent. A white curtain fluttered gently in the morning breeze, giving the room an ethereal feel. A faint fragrance filled the air. Under the window was a wooden table with skincare products and a mirror.
Shen Mo saw himself in the mirror, standing in the room that was filled with a girl’s atmosphere, which clearly didn’t match him.
He had almost never entered a girl’s room before. When his family hadn’t been relocated, he would knock on the door to call his sister for meals but never entered her room. Standing in such a room, he felt very uncomfortable.
But his wife had said they would sleep together, so he had to get used to it!
Seeing that he wasn’t moving, Jiang Ning took the initiative to pick up the clothes from his quilt and walked to the wardrobe, taking out hangers to hang them up one by one.
Shen Mo’s gaze then fell on the large bed in the room. On the bed was a pink silk quilt that he and Jiang Ning had bought together. For the current weather, the thin quilt was just right, and the silk bedding was very comfortable to sleep in.
When they went to the department store, they always picked high-quality items, and he would never skimp on Jiang Ning when it came to these things.
“When do you finish training?” Jiang Ning asked while organizing the wardrobe.
Shen Mo took two steps closer to her.
“If I need to pick up Zhiqi early, I can finish training earlier.”
Jiang Ning nodded and said, “Then you probably won’t have time to go to the department store with me.”
She thought carefully about what the house needed, “I plan to buy some daily necessities for Zhiqi, as well as a schoolbag and clothes.”
Leave from the camp usually had to be requested in advance, and Shen Mo, being one of the main trainers, couldn’t leave casually.
He thought for a moment and decided, “I’ll have Qian Feng drive you. You’ll see him at the entrance of the family compound.”
Then he fumbled around and pulled out a bunch of money, “You can spend this first. When you come back, I have something else for you.”
After giving Jiang Ning the money, he quickly left the room. If he stayed any longer, a certain part of him would soon become uncontrollable.
He urgently needed to train with the new recruits to suppress the rising heat.
Jiang Ning looked at the large pile of money in her hand, and by the time she looked up, Shen Mo had already dashed out of the courtyard gate.
She counted the money in her hand, and it was over a hundred again.
The last time Shen Mo gave her over a hundred, she hadn’t spent a single cent of it. Shen Mo knew she didn’t have many expenses, as he brought back groceries and other things.
This man was really generous. Were men of this era all so generous?
She remembered when she was still in the real world, her married colleagues with children in the lab would occasionally complain to her, saying their husbands wouldn’t even give them money for baby formula, and they had to buy it themselves.
When they asked their husbands for money, those men would call them shallow and materialistic, saying they only knew how to ask for money.
After hearing these complaints for a long time, it became a common belief that men changed after marriage and were not the same as they were during dating.
Her female colleagues would sometimes share embarrassing and exciting stories about their private lives, saying that men were one way in bed and another way out of bed.
Listening to their complaints made Jiang Ning develop an inexplicable fear of marriage.
Who would have thought that after entering this book, she would become a married young… woman.
But Shen Mo was completely different from the men they talked about. He was so shy that just entering a room with her made him embarrassed. If they slept in the same bed, he would probably be so shy that he’d want to dig a hole and bury himself.
Looking at the money in her hand again, being shallow wasn’t so bad. The feeling of lying flat seemed pretty good.
Jiang Ning walked to the entrance of the family compound and saw Qian Feng driving a jeep towards her as soon as she arrived.
“Good morning, Sister-in-law.”
Seeing Jiang Ning, Qian Feng greeted her obediently and handed her a bag from the back seat, “Sister-in-law, this is the breakfast that Deputy Regiment Commander Shen asked me to bring for you.”
She had woken up early to hear about picking up Zhiqi and then moving rooms. Shen Mo had been so embarrassed by her teasing that he ran away, and she had completely forgotten about breakfast.
Jiang Ning smiled, thinking how thoughtful this man was.
She took the bag, which contained three steamed buns and a small bag of soy milk.
Jiang Ning enjoyed her breakfast, and Qian Feng didn’t disturb her, focusing on driving.
When they arrived at the department store, Qian Feng followed Jiang Ning closely as they walked into the mall.
He remembered the Deputy Regiment Commander’s instructions to protect Sister-in-law carefully.
Jiang Ning, familiar with the store, went to the daily necessities section and bought some everyday items for Zhiqi. Then she headed to the children’s clothing section.
She planned to buy some autumn and winter clothes for Zhiqi, as summer and autumn would soon transition into winter.
Clothes were consumables, and Jiang Ning intended to buy just one or two sets. Zhiqi was at an age where he was growing rapidly, and this year’s clothes wouldn’t fit him next year.
She described the child’s height and weight to the salesperson, and the experienced clerk immediately brought out suitable sizes.
She bought two sets of autumn and winter clothes, along with two pairs of canvas shoes that Zhiqi could alternate wearing.
All these items cost only 25 yuan.
Then she went to the stationery section and bought a new canvas sling bag, which was the style of schoolbag for this era, along with some pencils, erasers, and other consumables.
She also bought some books to read during her leisure time.
Just as Jiang Ning finished paying and was about to leave, a stranger’s voice called out to her.
“Jiang Ning! What are you doing here?”
