Time Travel with a Dimensional Space: The Slacker Girl Goes All Out Chapter 13

Chapter 13: The White Moonlight’s First Humiliation

Everyone in the courtyard was stunned!
Who… was going to the countryside? Go where exactly?

After the Youth Office worker left, Song Jinxi looked at Song Rou’s wide eyes and sneered:
“You’ve signed up for the countryside assignment! Honestly, you copy everything I do. When I didn’t want to go, you and your mother schemed every which way to force me. Now that I suddenly do want to go, you rushed to sign up too. Clingy much?”

“And to top it off, you picked the Northern Wilderness. I honestly don’t even know what to say! Your ideological consciousness is so advanced—I’m ashamed to compare! I’m off to spend my 500 yuan on supplies. You still have a bit of time left to prepare. Good luck!”

The moment Song Jinxi stepped outside, the courtyard erupted into chaos.

“Mom! How could this happen? What am I supposed to do? I don’t want to go to the countryside—especially not the Northern Wilderness. I…”

She was so overwhelmed she almost fainted at the doorway!

Li Mei was more composed. After confirming with the Youth Office that it couldn’t be changed, she went around borrowing money to buy supplies for the trip.

Song Bai hurriedly stopped her:
“Don’t go—you’re pregnant! That’s my son in there!”

But Song Rou had already lost all reason. Normally, she played the part of a gentle, pure white lotus. But once enraged, her brain went out the window. She blurted out:

“What son?! What pregnancy?! How come I didn’t know Mom was pregnant?!”

Song Jinxi didn’t hear that last part—otherwise, she’d understand why they’d been so desperate lately to drive her out.

It was like a single drop of water landing in a boiling oil pan—instant explosion.

Song Bai ended up beating Li Mei so badly she bled. Then Li Mei’s family came storming over to demand justice (and money). Things escalated quickly. On top of that, rumors from the hospital incident had started to spread, and within three days, Song Bai lost his job.

Song Rou wasn’t stupid though. While her maternal family was being questioned by the police, she made a beeline for their hometown. She packed up all the money and bedding—basically anything her mom had previously sent over—and took it all. In her eyes, she was just reclaiming what was already hers.

Meanwhile, Song Jinxi snuck over to the train station to take one last look at Song Rou. To her surprise, Song Rou didn’t look disheveled at all. On the contrary, she seemed quite well-prepared.

Song Jinxi was confused at first—how did she pull this off? But then it hit her immediately.

It was clearly the idiot next to her who had provided everything.

Now this was getting interesting. Song Jinxi never doubted that Song Rou would survive—her tricks and manipulations were well beyond what a ten-year-old should know. If Song Jinxi didn’t have her space (and secret advantages), it might not even be clear who would win in the end.

But in this round—Song Jinxi won. Song Rou would never appear in front of her again.

As she turned to leave, she heard that poor sap shouting behind her:

“Rou-meimei, I’ll mail you things. Once I find work, I’ll bring you back!”

Song Jinxi mentally rolled her eyes:
“That guy totally deserves to be scammed. No brains. Even if I went to help him, he wouldn’t believe me—he’d probably accuse me of slandering his precious white moonlight!”

The White Moonlight:
“………”
This is the first time I’ve ever been humiliated like this!

Time flew by, and soon it was Song Jinxi’s own departure day. After visiting Grandma Cai and her family, she headed to the guesthouse to prepare.

At 7 a.m. on the day of departure, Song Jinxi packed her belongings and stood at the hospital gate, waiting for the kind nurse.

When the nurse arrived, she immediately handed her a back basket.

“Sister, aside from Grandma Cai, you’re the only one who helped me. I’m really grateful. But I’m heading to the countryside now, and we might never meet again. This is a small token of appreciation—you must accept it, or I’ll feel terrible!”

Then she quickly turned and ran off before the nurse could protest.

In Song Jinxi’s mind, she imagined herself darting away like a fairy—graceful and light as a swallow.

But reality… was much less poetic.

Her posture was more like a bear lugging a small backpack, a heavy old-school wooden trunk, and a giant bundle of supplies. When she ran…

She looked absolutely ridiculous—but also kind of majestic in her own chaotic way.
