Time-Traveling to the Seventies : My Troublemaker Husband is Full of Secrets Chapter 49

Chapter 49 : Finding the Real Murderer

Not only was Cao Min betrayed by the person she loved, but she also lost all her face and dignity.

How could she, so proud, accept this?

So she launched a series of vengeful actions against Su Xieqiu, wishing for her to be ruined and infamous.

But she never stopped to consider that it was Liu Huajun who was fickle. What did it have to do with Su Xieqiu?

Shouldn’t a girl be relieved she didn’t get involved with such a scumbag?

She was glad that she never officially dated him, relieved they hadn’t married yet, and thankful that there was still time to save everything.

Su Xieqiu really couldn’t understand these women. Instead of seeking revenge on the scumbag, they framed an innocent girl.

If Su Xieqiu and Liu Huajun had had an affair, it wouldn’t be unfair to her.

But the original owner obviously liked the scumbag in the city and never even looked at Liu Huajun.

Yet that strange Cao Min chose Su Xieqiu as her target for revenge, which was really absurd and pitiful.

Sun Yuexian also liked Liu Huajun, but she only had a crush on him and never dared to admit it.

Though Sun Yuexian and Cao Min both liked the same man, that man liked another woman.

So, that woman became a thorn in their eyes, and they wouldn’t be happy until she was out of the picture.

Sun Yuexian looked at Cao Min, whose face was filled with displeasure, and said worriedly, “Minmin, I’m a little worried. If people find out this is related to us, it won’t be as easy to get away with it as last time.”

Cao Min smiled confidently and said, “Yuexian, you’re overthinking. If this works out, it will be that bitch Su Xieqiu couldn’t stand the loneliness and seduced Zhang Quezi and Sun Dabishi. What does it have to do with us?”

Cao Min had already planned everything. She just wanted revenge on that bitch, but she wouldn’t sacrifice herself for it. She wasn’t that stupid.

“That’s what you think, but what if something goes wrong, and Zhang Quezi and Sun Dabishi spill the beans?”

Cao Min leaned in and whispered in her ear, “If the truth comes out, those two won’t admit it. If they say they were seduced by Su Xieqiu, their reputation will be ruined, but if they admit it, that would be considered hooliganism.”

Cao Min was worried that Sun Yuexian might do something rash, so she smiled and reassured her, “Don’t worry, even though those two may look unattractive, they’re not stupid.”

The two whispered for a long time outside the door before returning to the Youth League Home, both wearing smiles.

Su Xieqiu had already identified the accomplices and immediately went to the village to find the culprits.

She went to Aunt Qiuye’s house first, “Aunt, are you home?”

“I’m here. Is that Zhenyu’s wife? Come in.” Aunt Qiuye came from the backyard holding her little grandson.

Su Xieqiu took some rock candy from her pocket and gave it to her grandson, then asked with a smile, “Aunt, I want to make some pickled peppers. Do you have a lot of peppers at home?”

“Yes, there are plenty. Come on, I’ll pick some for you.” Aunt Qiuye looked at the pieces of rock candy in her grandson’s hand and said with a smile, “Mrs. Zhenyu, thank you for the candy.”

“Auntie, it’s just a couple of pieces of rock candy. Why thank me?” Su Xieqiu replied.

Aunt Qiuye didn’t bother with pleasantries. She had already decided that she wouldn’t charge Su Xieqiu for today’s supplies.

The three of them went to the backyard. Aunt Qiuye placed her grandson on the ground, and she and Su Xieqiu started picking peppers.

As they chatted about village gossip, Su Xieqiu casually asked, “Aunt, I just saw a young man who was having trouble walking on the road. He seemed unfamiliar. Is there someone like that in our group? I don’t recognize him.”

Aunt Qiuye limped a few steps and asked, “Was he walking like this?”

“Yes, yes, yes, Auntie, you imitated him very well,” Su Xieqiu quickly replied, smiling. “Is he from our village? I don’t think I’ve seen him before.”

“It’s Zhang the Lame from the west end of our village. He had a high fever when he was a child, and his feet turned out like that.”

Aunt Qiuye leaned in and whispered, “He’s not a good guy, don’t pay him any attention.”

Su Xieqiu pretended to be scared and said, “Now that you mention it, Auntie, I think he’s really not a good person. He looks awful when he stares at people.”

“He’s over 30 and still hasn’t married. He can barely walk when he sees a woman. You should avoid him if you see him,” Aunt Qiuye whispered to her.

“I understand. Thank you, Auntie.” Su Xieqiu pretended to gossip and added, “I don’t think the man with him is a good person either. The way he looks at people is just like Zhang the Lame.”

Aunt Qiuye placed the peppers in her basket and asked, “Are you talking about Sun Dabi?”

Su Xieqiu shook her head. “I don’t know Sun Dabi. I’m not sure if it’s him. His eyes were a bit scary, so I didn’t dare look at him. I just remember that he was not very tall and quite thin.”

After hearing her description, Aunt Qiuye said with certainty, “That’s him. He’s greedy, lazy, and cowardly. He’s around 27 or 28 and still doesn’t have a wife. His mother is also very fierce. No one from the surrounding villages wants to marry into his family.”

“How come someone like that is in our team?” Su Xieqiu exclaimed, pretending to be frightened.

“Aunt, where do the two families live? I’m scared. I’ll need to avoid them from now on.”

Seeing that Su Xieqiu was frightened, Aunt Qiuye smiled and reassured her, “Both of their families live far out west, near the sorghum field by the river. It’s quite far from your new house, and you usually wouldn’t walk out there.”

“Oh, I know which family you’re talking about. Is it the one whose wall collapsed in the last rain?”

Aunt Qiuye nodded, “Yes, that’s them. That courtyard belongs to Zhang Quezi, and behind him is Sun Dabishi’s family.”

Su Xieqiu had now learned where the enemies lived. She chatted with Aunt Qiuye about village gossip and also taught her how to pickle peppers.

She placed two coins down and prepared to leave with a large basket of chili peppers.

“Zhenyu’s wife, no matter what, I won’t take this money today. Otherwise, I won’t be friends with you anymore.”

Aunt Qiuye took the two coins and argued with Su Xieqiu in the yard for a long time.

Su Xieqiu felt like the basket in her hand was about to be pulled out of her grasp, so she had no choice but to accept the two coins.

“Aunt, if you keep doing this, I’ll be embarrassed to come pick vegetables here in the future.”

Aunt Qiuye smiled and reassured her, “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely accept it next time, and I won’t let you leave until I give it to you.”

“Aunt, this is what you said. If you do this again, I’ll never come here again, and we’ll no longer be friends,” Su Xieqiu joked, mimicking Aunt Qiuye’s words.

“Okay, okay, it’s settled,” Aunt Qiuye said, and they continued chatting affectionately in the yard for a while.

Seeing that it was getting late, Su Xieqiu hurried back to the foundation with the basket.

When she passed by the Youth League Home, the gate was closed and locked.

Su Xieqiu stopped for a moment at the door.

She thought to herself, ‘I didn’t want to get involved in the grudge between you and the original owner, because it has nothing to do with me. But you just won’t leave me alone and insist on provoking me. Don’t blame me for being rude.’

‘I’m not the original owner who can be manipulated by anyone. Since you dared to use such a despicable and harmful method, then I won’t return the favor. I’ll let you experience what it’s like to be framed.’
