Chapter 10: Full of Motivation

“Which school does the class monitor want to apply to?”

With 100 days left until the college entrance exam, the homeroom teacher asked everyone to write down their ideal university.

“Tsinghua,” Xie Jun replied without hesitation.

His target university had always been Tsinghua.

“Then I’ll apply to Tsinghua too,” Kui Ming said as he leaned closer.

Xie Jun mercilessly exposed the truth, “With your current grades, you won’t get into Tsinghua.”

“Then I’ll go to B University, right across from Tsinghua.”

“With your current grades, you won’t get into B University either,” Xie Jun remarked calmly.

Kui Ming silently slumped back over his desk, a cloud of sadness hanging over him.

Xie Jun wrote down a name on a piece of paper and slid it over to Kui Ming. “There are still 100 days until the college entrance exams. If you improve a bit more, you could get into L University, and it’s not far from Tsinghua.”

Kui Ming stared at the paper, saying nothing.

Xie Jun’s fingers hesitated as he pulled them back slightly.

He had always been planning for Kui Ming, and L University was a carefully chosen option he believed suited Kui Ming well. But would Kui Ming think he was being too controlling?

Kui Ming looked up, his eyes fixed on Xie Jun, blinking like a big dog.

Xie Jun asked softly, “What’s wrong?”

“Then we won’t be able to attend classes together anymore?” Kui Ming said sadly.

Xie Jun felt the urge to give him a light smack on the head. His fingers twitched slightly, and a small smile slowly appeared on his face. “We could rent a place off-campus.”

They could find a place close to both universities, where they could cook together, maybe even raise a cat or a dog, and spend their nights living together…

Kui Ming drifted into his daydreams.

Xie Jun gave him a light pat on the back of his head. “Finish today’s practice test first.”

Kui Ming immediately perked up, filled with motivation.
