Chapter 12: Is This Really Such a Double Standard?
“Senior, may I have an application form?”
“Of course.” The senior, with a beaming smile, handed an application form to the young junior. “You’re welcome to join our club.”
Today was the club recruitment day, and their club was bustling with people. A stack of application forms was nearly all taken, while the club next door could only watch enviously.
All of this was because their club had found the perfect “mascot.”
A junior with gray hair stood with his arms crossed at the entrance of the recruitment booth. He was tall, with long legs, and exceptionally handsome. The hair color might have looked disastrous on someone else, but on him, it seemed just right, like a beautiful boy who had stepped out of a manga.
However, this manga-like handsome boy seemed a bit impatient, with a sour expression that made him look somewhat intimidating. The juniors coming to collect application forms couldn’t help but steal a few extra glances at him, though few dared to strike up a conversation.
“Is this your mascot?”
A fair hand pointed at the gray-haired junior standing in front of the booth.
The senior’s eyes lit up, eagerly handing over an application form. “Junior, would you like to join our club?”
The visitor took their application form, seemingly very interested in the “mascot” at the entrance. “Can I touch this mascot?”
“No, you can’t.” The senior laughed, thinking he was joking. She never expected that the junior would actually reach out to touch their “mascot.” She was shocked, but then saw that their grumpy-faced “mascot” actually lowered his head willingly, allowing the visitor to pat his head.
“You can touch my face too.” The “mascot” was very forward, grabbing the visitor’s hands and placing them on his own face.
Is this… really such a double standard? The senior was stunned.
The visitor smiled and turned to the senior, saying, “Hello, senior. I’m his boyfriend, my name is Xie Jun.”
The senior nearly choked on her own saliva, no wonder.
Kui Ming leaned out halfway from behind Xie Jun, speaking with a hint of pride, “He studies at Tsinghua and came specifically to see me.”
The senior thought to herself, “Alright then.”
This guy really has two faces.
Kui Ming glanced at the nearly depleted stack of application forms, then took his boyfriend’s hand. “We’ll be off now.”
“Go on, go on,” the senior waved them off. After all, today’s recruitment goals had already been exceeded.
Kui Ming walked confidently through the campus, holding Xie Jun’s hand. Whenever they ran into a classmate or two, he would stop and proudly show off, “This is my boyfriend.”
Xie Jun found it amusing and pulled him along, quickening their pace.
“Oh, so you’re embarrassed of me now?” Kui Ming poked him in the shoulder with a finger. “I’m going to your school to make a big announcement.”
Xie Jun smiled slightly. “Which one of my classmates doesn’t already know you?”
“That’s true.”
