Mu Wan’s reputation had already been salvaged thanks to the tape’s release, and now she was completely free from the previous scandal.
In their private chat group, everyone asked Fang Li if she truly didn’t know the production team would release the clip. She didn’t hide the truth.
“Of course I knew. The producer showed it to me beforehand. Because of how kind you all were to me, I wanted the world to know.”
“And also to expose how terrible Mosi Entertainment is, so others like me won’t fall into the same trap.”
Since she was no longer pursuing an idol career, being blacklisted or shelved by the company didn’t bother her at all. The only challenge was that it might make her comeback more difficult. However, Producer Zhuang had promised that if she allowed the clip to air, he would sign her after she terminated her contract with Mosi.
What a joke! Zhuang Xian’s company and Mosi Entertainment weren’t even in the same league. She’d be foolish not to agree.
Everything that followed unfolded naturally.
– Zhou Yang: “You’ve turned misfortune into a blessing.”
– Fang Li: “It’s all thanks to your help. This afternoon, so many people were attacking Mu Wan Jie. I was thinking we’d have to wait for the show to air to shut them up, but I didn’t expect Mu Wan Jie to clear everything up before the broadcast even finished. Jian Jia’s PR team is amazing!”
– Mu Wan: “It’s nothing. My boyfriend returned to the country, and he happened to have recordings of my competition saved.”
– Everyone: “…”
– Li Shuqin: “This group has a strict no-showing-off rule.”
– Zhou Yang: “Does Wild God’s hand really have his hands treated?”
– Mu Wan: “Yes. We’re starting acupuncture treatments in a few days.”
– Zhou Yang: “Then can you get me his autograph?”
– Mu Wan: “…”
Mu Wan set down her phone and looked at Kuang Ye, who was now sitting beside her. “Your fans are asking for your autograph in a roundabout way.”
Kuang Ye, ever generous, responded, “Sure, I’ll sign a hundred for him to tear up for fun.”
Then he wrapped an arm around her waist, nestling his head against her shoulder like a clingy giant. “But we haven’t seen each other in so long. Can’t we ignore them for now?”
Mu Wan, tickled by his freshly dried, fluffy hair brushing against her, set her phone aside and cupped his face.
“Ah Ye, has anyone ever told you that you’re getting more and more jealous lately?”
Kuang Ye tilted his head slightly and playfully licked Mu Wan’s palm, his eyes full of possessive intensity. His words were both bold and matter-of-fact.
“Because you’re a treasure guarded by a dragon. If I were to lose even a strand of your hair, this dragon would rage and stomp all over the mountain.”
Mu Wan couldn’t help but burst into laughter, imagining a dragon with Kuang Ye’s head stomping around a mountain while breathing fire. She leaned in, resting her forehead against his.
“Well, my little dragon, you’d better guard this treasure well. After all, this treasure has legs and might run off, never to be found again.”
Kuang Ye raised his eyes, their breaths mingling. “This dragon has wings. No matter where the treasure runs, it can always be found.”
Their eyes locked, and they shared a quiet smile.
Suddenly, Kuang Ye rested his chin in her palm and said mischievously, “Jiejie, do you remember the promise you made to me?”
Mu Wan blinked in confusion. “???”
With a sly grin, Kuang Ye pulled out a rose-gold evening gown from behind his back. His smile was both cheeky and smoldering.
“You promised to wear this for me when you got back.”
It was the dress Mu Wan had worn to a recent annual gala.
With practiced ease, Kuang Ye began undoing her robe.
“Jiejie, can I help you put it on?”
“!!” Mu Wan blushed fiercely and tried to retreat under the covers, scolding him playfully, “Didn’t we already… on the third floor of the company just now?”
But Kuang Ye was persistent, gently pulling her out of the covers and helping her change with an air of tender stubbornness. The playful struggle ended with him pinning her down and capturing her lips in a fervent kiss.
When he finally pulled away, Mu Wan lay on the rumpled bed. Her lips were slightly swollen, her cheeks flushed, and her eyes shone with a soft, dewy light. The rose-gold halter dress accentuated her pale, slender shoulders, leaving Kuang Ye completely captivated.
His body tensed as every drop of blood in his veins roared with desire. Brushing her hair aside with his long fingers, he leaned in and murmured something suggestive into her ear.
“Jiejie, unlike in the company, I want to hear you say…”
“!!!” Mu Wan felt her soul leave her body at his brazen words.
“What is this, a ‘Jiejie by day, your slut by night’ cosplay?” she thought, utterly mortified.
“Stop talking,” she scolded softly, her fair skin flushing a deep red.
Kuang Ye’s roughened hands caressed her silky skin as he gently turned her over, planting delicate kisses along her bare back.
“Don’t be angry, Jiejie. Let me take this off for you again.”
In the end, the elegant dress didn’t stay on for long, as it was soon tossed aside unceremoniously. The room filled with whispers of intimacy as the temperature soared.
